There is a reason why our one true tatsuya is not playable is because he is a God and will beat the purpose of it being a game ;)
Watch out for the nose-drink Tomoya Okazaki, stripper Gray Fullbuster, bastard Yuuki Terumi/Hazama, President Yuuki Oojima (or Ooshima if you want to insult him and maybe Yuuko Ooshima as well), Greed (Brotherhood version) and Bruce Lee ripoff Fei Long. Why? Me being a Voice Actor Otaku; Yuuichi Nakamura, that is all. XD
Lord Shiba Tatsuya is gonna be playable in the updated version with new characters.
Also Yusa Emi and Quenser from Heavy object will be playable too.

Just a guess, but isn't 99% of those characters from shows that haven't been aired outside japan? It took them while to get Miku to west and Miku is pretty known even for those not so keen on japanese stuff. Releasing this in west would be commercial suicide especially when most will order the game directly from japan anyway as playstations are region free (Thank you Sony

It's called Belief (thought it was Overdrive but I have Erico Supriady to thank for correcting me indirectly), since the the kanji for the artist is good old Mami Kawada. :3
Funny enough, Kirito (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka), Haruyuki Arita, Rentarou Satomi (both Yuuki Kaji) and Miyuki Shiba's (Saori Hayami) Japanese voice actors all voice characters in Under Night In-Birth, the previously developed French Bread fighting game.
Respectively, Chaos (who at least tells the Kirito fans to shut up for being a more unique role of Matsuoka's IMO :3), Seth (not the KOF or SF4 one mind you) and Orie.

Well they only add the characters who are in an animeadaptation already, so pretty sure they've already used up the list of anime adapted franchises.
anyone notice Satomi from Black Bullet shouts "Unlimited Burst"? which should be from the Accel World lore right? Haru and Satomi have the same Seiyuu (voice actor) btw. cool :)

And Dengeki Fighting Climax's characters are exclusively from the light novels that Dengeki publishes, so obviously there will be no shounen jump characters.

i consider myself a fighting game enthusiast, a hardcore player and an enthusiast and im considering getting this.
the only characters i recognize are Miyuki from magic highschool, Shana( LOVE SHANA) and Kirito and Asuna
is this game for more hardcore players or more of a casual fighting game?
Both. Casual players can use simple button mashes, while hardcore people can use hard button and joystick moving.

Dude no way. If Tatsuya fought Rentarou rentarou would die a very quick death. And it wouldnt even be a competition. Tatsuya is OP.
I know it's probably unlikely due to licensing of characters, but PLEASE bring this to the US.

There are not enough playable (non assist) characters in this game. I will probably import this game if it has more playable characters. I know it is hard to come up with more characters with unique play styles but the current roster is pretty anemic compared to other fighting games. I'm not asking for 50+ characters, but I am asking for more than a handful of characters at least. This game is like a dream come true (Shana, Taiga, Misaka) but it will get boring quickly if there aren't enough characters.
And another note, the game could use a announcer who is actually one of the characters (such as Shana) in the game not some generic announcer to add to the fanservice.

Yes there's other popular animes here like Toradora, Devil is a Part timer, Black Bullet, Irregular at Magic School and I cant believe my sister is so cute.
As someone said this isnt Shonen Jump Characters, so you wont find those here, This is filled with Dengeki Imprint Light Novel Characters(So far all I saw are from popular anime shows)

I'd like a more "adult" version which included more adult animes/mangas as well as some blood in the mix.
I can imagine a pretty brutal fight between some characters, ill be nice to see people from Attack on titan, Mirai Nikki, Brynhildr in darkness, elfen lied, Trigun etc.
I think balancing them would prove difficult.
