This happened when I was a kid, but the impact of this disaster added with MH17 still sticks with my to this day. It was rly fuckin scary.
No, planes don’t have full automation.. automation only comes into play during cruising speed, in which aircraft “autopilot” creates adjustments accordingly to stay on the designated flight path. All other movements made by the aircraft are via pilot input, in which they have full control over takeoff, landing, and increasing/decreasing altitude. Hope this helps for anyone wondering.
Lol no dude, planes can takeoff and land themselves. There has literally been an accident that happened because the pilot used autoland too often and wasn't familiar enough with hand-flown approaches.

for what you said in the beginning, boeing pilots tend to have a more hands on approach vs airbus pilots which nearly everything is automated.. atleast from what ive seen

The fact that both transponders turned off or stop working at the same time the plane disappeared, is too crazy. Someone did something to them. If your plan was just to crash the plane, then why wait till you are out of gas.

It's because the Blackboxes are powered by the engines. Had someone manually shut off the engines or guided the plane into a crash, the Flight Data Recorder will show that.
If the flight runs out of fuel, the engines flame out and stop providing power.

if he went to that place to get a last glance at his hometown he wouldve then wrapped around back to where he was supposed to go but he didnt and kept going forward then took a left thats where i think the plane may have gotten hijacked or caught on fire.

they takeoff full control. land full control. however cruiseing via autopilot is differnt basically the pilots enter in the direction needed. waypoints nad GPS also work via this system with aircraft

You have to land a plane manually, there is no way to auto pilot lands unless you have the most advanced technology & even then you have to make sure that the plane knows exactly how to land on the object which is the ground. A computer doesn't have the ability to know what the ground is. It only sees it as an object to avoid if trained that way. The computer in the plane has to know what the object is and how it is designed to land the plane. BTW airplane pilots don't land the plane just because it is an open lane, there are signals on the run way showing where the plane has to go(Ex. Lights flashing). They have to have permission to land from the communication tower to land the plane.

The only possible reason for this disappearance leads directly to the pilot. Only someone intimately knowledgable about the flight pattern, operation, and navigation of this aircraft could have pulled off this carefully guided crash, purposely ditching it into the Indian Ocean, as far away from possible discovery as possible. This was an inside job.

They land and climbs, without the pilots i would not feel safe, even if they crash, they probably did their best to not.
My father is a pilot and he did a lot of training and now hes a pilot, i feel very safe flying with him and pilots from major airlines is more skilled and more hours in the cabin.
