You are so sweet to take the time to explain about the thrift store merchandise and how they have to sell. Why do people care about what you buy to resale, you don't buy essentials, you buy home decor. If you are poor, you don't go to the thrift store to get home decor, you get things you need to use, not decorate. People just have to say something, even if they make no sense. I think they are jealous because of how good you guys are.

not to mention that commenters who have this sort of criticism to offer are often doing it simply to appear more virtuous and thoughtful. "See, I am a better person than the rest of you because I think of the poor poor people when you won't"
Buying stuff saves it from the landfill. The BINS is the last stop before everything leftover gets thrown away.

I liked your comment about how some people think you shouldn’t buy things because other people need it!! I had a friend that worked at a thrift store and I was telling her that I felt guilty if I went there because I didn’t need it and she said to me “no, but, we NEED you”!! And, that brought it home. No, I may not need it, but, my buying things helps them. So, never felt guilty again!! Thanks for sharing!

Wow this was an amazing thrift day! I love so much of what you bought. I love watching you two as you’re so happy and full of energy and such a great couple together. You filled me last time I wrote all about you and I appreciate that. I was suddenly disabled a few years ago and basically bed/home bound. I don’t get to shop and am alone a lot so I love watching videos like this. I dream of being able to thrift like that. I love the thrill of the hunt. Today Zeb was buying things and I was like, I want that, and that too!!! lol. Thank you for another great video. ❤

YEA!!!, Y'all pointed out the DI's purpose. I challenge everyone to go into the "help" centers attached to DI, Goodwill, and other thrift stores. See all the wonderful programs and people they support. It really breaks my heart when people bash any thrift store because they read something bad about corporate. That's the same as gossiping if you ask me. Every time people complain, they hurt my young adult special education students' ability to get good job training and employment, which leads them to be independent, positive, and productive contributers to society. No one wants to graduate high school, then just sit at home playing video games the rest of their lives. So everyone go shopping, knowing that you're doing more than just getting a great deal.
I work third shift and I’m not usually awake when the thrift stores are open so I am enjoying shopping vicariously through you. Great view of the mountains behind the stores.

Jami - I agree with your comments about shopping at thrift stores and the services that are provided and the good work they can do with the money you spend. If people that don't have a lot of funds wanted some of those items they would have gotten there early to shop. Obviously if the thrift store finds items they believe are worth more, they will price them accordingly. Fun day!

You should NOT feel guilty about thrifting because if it doesn't sell it ends up it the dumpster! Proof positive the rescue mission thrift store that I like to go to their dumpster was full of stuff, great stuff that didn't sell!! I went dumpster diving and got yelled at, told her I was just saving it from the landfill but she didn't care!!

Also I was wondering if you are selling the lion bookends and how I could buy them. I looked on your website. They are the mascot of our school!
They will be for sale on the Saturday thrift haul. Everything from Monday is listed Saturday at 8:30 Mt.
I’ve been thinking about thrifting and adding a section to my website reselling these items. I am a furniture artist and would like to bring in more income. My question is how do you know what to price everything at? You seem to know so much about everything you get. Can you suggest websites or books to do research on items?

Circulatory economics. Utilizing used goods or already manufactured resources into the economy is very sustainable. If people are upset about you marking something up-they can buy the supplies and get your own thrifted stuff… then you can know how much more you make your junk worthwhile. It never bothered me that you guys marked your stuff up. It’s your job. You went to six different places to search for stuff. It does take time to find, clean, paint, and curate thrifted things. Also. You have people to pay.

The people who admonish you for picking up stuff at the thrift store to resell: please get a life.
Just think if resellers did not buy at thrift stores how much funding they would lose and how much money charities would lose. You are really doing a service by buying from thrift stores.
Who are these people who think they're so self entitled that they can instruct you on what you can buy at the thrift store? It's like they feel justified by telling you to leave the crumbs for the poor? Honestly, the poor don't want or need what you're buying and your family's working hard to create a resell business. I hope you don't take any of this absolute nonsense seriously! Really, the nerve...😵💫
