What someone (far more skilled than I) needs to do either using a phone app / the little tracking cameras on the headsets, is allow us to easily map our homes.
Then create a game with multiple different scenarios / game modes where you essentially reskin your entire home. So for example it would look sort of like a military base an you would sneak around metal gears solid style.
I fear that might be asking a little too much of the current technology but it would be a lot of fun. 👌

this is a great idea you can build a house without tv and computer and just have a virtual one in your vr, every guest you have must enter the house with a vr headset next generation house design right there

This would be great to have for when I move out of my childhood house. To be able to revisit this place in 30 years would be amazing.

The iPad and iPhone 12 and 13 Pro models have Lidar scanners than can recreate and texture objects and places. You can scan your home home and then view it in VR years later. They still have pretty low resolution (especially compared to commercial lidar scanners which can cost 100s of thousands of dollars). But it will get better, especially because it will make AR possible -- if the Quest 2 had a decent Lidar scanner and nice colour cameras on the front, it could be an AR headset as well as a VR headset.

I was thinking about doing a similar thing but in VR Chat, is just that I don't actually own a headset, but I think that it would be kinda cool having guest like this in vr room all with skins of themselves.. Kinda amazing concept for the next quarantine.

To track real object like the mug. U could use a QR code, the camera of the quest will recognize it and will track it in the vr space. But I saw that’s not possible with the quest because oculus doesn’t allow to do it (even if technically it’s possible). For example u can do mixed reality with QR code’s with the windows vr headset

I'd recommend a feature to add to prevent desynchronization of objects whould be trackers for them. Like the headset recognizing a qr code like it recognizes your hands. So you can drink your tea while knowing where you put it down
