The Remake is really really good. but its not like the Original one... the Atmosphere and the Vibe in the Old Games is perfect because it has a soul and you can feel the love they put in, imagine a Mafia 2 Remake or a ViceCity and Sanandreas Remake it would be nice but you can’t touch the soul of the OG Versions

@@kiki88561 It’s fantastic for what it’s trying to accomplish, recreating the story of the original Mafia but improving on some of the characters and making Tommy out to be someone who is already willing to do bad things but still being conflicted about it, and making him out to be someone who is street-smart not book-smart like in the original. My only gripe is that some of the missions were cut down like Moonlighting which was by far one of the worst missions in the remake, as it transferred none of what made the original so great. Contrast that by Election Day which has you navigating a prison that is actually lived-in instead of just a set where you shoot random goons in the original, making the mission really enjoyable. Overall I say the remake is great and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I completely agree... I recently played it again though for my re-play of the sequel however i did notice that this game did a lot of things that later would be common in video games such as the casting of real actors for the characters and long cutscenes with alot of dialogue that made it feel like a movie :)
The wanted level/police system in this game is ahead of it's time, you could actually hide from the cops in alleys, besides if you let your chased car parked in a spot and move away, the cops will come over and look inside the car, when they see you are not there, they will move on and call off porsuit, they might say things "where he go?" "He's here somewhere" You could drop the weapons you didn't want to carry. Press I to check on your inventories, it shows the weapons you are carring, the game pauses when you press the inventories Button, GTA V would do this 11 years later. Very nice for a 2002 game.

Best story game ever. Best game ever. My childhood has all the sudden came back to me thoughts. When I was sad I would play this game and, of course it helped me to relax. After I locked this game the last mission made me so sad for a week or so. I feel I want to play this game again unfortunately, I dont have the PC :( and I would get bored faster and quit. It always happens to me when I comeback to ancient games.

Who is here because of the Mafia Trilogy Trailer? -Edit 1 (21st May 2020)- Edit 2 (5th June 2020): I see many people complaining like "Mafia 1 remake is being made by Hangar 13? RIP", please do not take it that way, i know Mafia 3 disappointed a lot of people but, to be honest, i liked the story and the graphics (except for the mirrors hehe), although i agree that the gameplay was a bit too repetitive and clunky sometimes, because 2K rushed Hangar 13 to finish the game, they only had a little over 2 years of development time on Mafia 3, after having to reboot it internally in 2014 after 2K Czech went under. So with that I think what we got was fairly "okay", it was not as Mafia 2 levels, sure. But for 2 years work, sure. Plus, they're not lazy. They are very hard working, but due to 2K forcing Mafia 3 out the door early, they had to do some quality drawbacks. They now have MANY studios across the globe and not just the one like on Mafia 3. So we have a bigger team and more talent this time around. Not to mention, they are REMAKING a game, not making a new one, so they have a safe blueprint foundation to build off, so long as it's faithful to the original. So they tried their best even with the limits imposed. About Mafia II Definitive Edition, i see many people blaming Hangar 13 for "bad remasterization" and "no cut/new content added to Mafia 2" but people, instead of searching, did not realize that the remaster was made by a small studio (if i am not mistaken) called D3T and, at the same time, Hangar 13 was putting its fully devolepment/attention on Mafia 1, like it is said on their site in the newswire: "...who (Hangar 13's President and CCO) led the development of Mafia: Definitive Edition across Hangar 13's offices in Brno, Brighton, Prague, and Novato." Edit 2 (5th June 2020): I see many people complaining like "Mafia 1 remake is being made by Hangar 13? RIP", please do not take it that way, i know Mafia 3 disappointed a lot of people but, to be honest, i liked the story and the graphics (except for the mirrors hehe), although i agree that the gameplay was a bit too repetitive and clunky sometimes, because 2K rushed Hangar 13 to finish the game, they only had a little over 2 years of development time on Mafia 3, after having to reboot it internally in 2014 after 2K Czech went under. So with that I think what we got was fairly "okay", it was not as Mafia 2 levels, sure. But for 2 years work, sure. Plus, they're not lazy. They are very hard working, but due to 2K forcing Mafia 3 out the door early, they had to do some quality drawbacks. They now have MANY studios across the globe and not just the one like on Mafia 3. So we have a bigger team and more talent this time around. Not to mention, they are REMAKING a game, not making a new one, so they have a safe blueprint foundation to build off, so long as it's faithful to the original. So they tried their best even with the limits imposed.
About Mafia II Definitive Edition, i see many people blaming Hangar 13 for "bad remasterization" and "no cut/new content added to Mafia 2" but people, instead of searching, did not realize that the remaster was made by a small studio (if i am not mistaken) called D3T and, at the same time, Hangar 13 was putting its fully devolepment/attention on Mafia 1, like it is said on their site in the newswire: "...who (Hangar 13's President and CCO) led the development of Mafia: Definitive Edition across Hangar 13's offices in Brno, Brighton, Prague, and Novato."
Mafia 1 was my childhood game, and to this day, i still play it sometimes, the story, music, gameplay and graphics still amazes me, how could a game from 2002 be so detailed and with an amazing story telling? Because it was made with "love" and care (thank you 2K Czech!), nowadays, most of the games are made for "business" only, leaving players hating on their recent games and missing the old ones, for example, EA. But, in my honest opinion, i can say and believe that Hangar 13 will do a fantastic job on this remake. Like they said on their newswire: "Rather than a straight port of the original Mafia to modern platforms, Mafia: Definitive Edition is a *faithful remake that enhances the 2002 classic in every way, delivering an experience that's even better than you remember* . Mafia: Definitive Edition actually didn't mess up the legacy of this legendary game, but still not even close to this piece of art. I doubt that there'll ever be a game like this!

Can’t describe my emotions in words for this game .. I just don’t know why I love this game so much . I have played GTA Vice City, San Andreas, Max Payne 1 and 2 and many. But Mafia the city of lost heaven is just unbeatable. Whenever I play it always takes me into another world !! SO IMMERSIVE

I know people were on the fence about the gameplay in this, but I actually enjoyed the combat. It was difficult and felt rewarding when you got past a hard section of the game
