The tooltip is bugged, the only reason you see a higher tooltip on the physical damage option is because it's correctly showing the +5% physical damage bonus from Sorcs. It applies to the shock focus in practice, just not on the tooltip.
Try 1pc gaze of sithis, 5pc aetherial ascension, 5pc crafty alfiq, 1pc trainee chest. You give up some dmg, but not much. Still rolling with 51k max mag, 32k hp, buffed up at 3.8k spell dmg and 2.3k crit resistances. But all of that with a WHOPPING 38k resistances. I prefer the 18% reduction in damage for being able to withstand more so that I get 10-12 seconds of being able to deal damage rather than 6 seconds to throw a few skills that hit a bit harder.
I would put the Major Brut & Sorcery affix on, drop Crit Surge and replace it with Vibrant Shroud. Now you still got a burst heal on the back bar but now anyone who gets close you pop vibrant shroud, you get a big heal and they get Major Maim, now they do less damage to you. You can now stay in the fight for longer
@@michaellawrence3795 seems good on a brawler class but on sorc you have streak to keep distance and stun. I don't run crit surge myself I use spell pots to free up even more bar space all well fitted and slippery cp 21k stamina never have an issue with stam recovery
Thanks Luca! Overall, I have found the Gold road chapter to be very disappointing. the whole Ink cost and rarity to get them ruins the system. Also the abilities arnt thaaaaat good and there is nothing else that the chapter offers
Mathematically, yes, there is around 4000 variations. Easy math, 11 grimoires x 7 focus x 7 signatures x 7 affix = 3773 possible combinations. That is a minimum, some grimoires have more or less than 7 options. Either way, I know what you're getting at, it could be better and will get better with time, but I think it helps to understand how these types of claims actually work. Set the right expectations for yourself. If you've ever seen the marketing for Borderlands, you should know by now that "millions" of guns, does not mean what you think it means.. but they're still technically right.

@@esolucacash I never tested that, but I did try on a test dummy with/without the passive on PTS. It happens with DK's poison/flame passive as well.

sure wretched backbar works fine, you could use alfiq frontbar too if you swap out hardened ward to frontbar for curse

You can put major breach on wield soul and replace ele sus

because of the Focus Script "Physical Damage" wich converts the ability into a stamina one
