- Some of the most challenging and testing shooting I have ever experienced!
I love decoying wood pigeons but when I get the opportunity to test my ability on some high flighting woodies I can't turn down the opportunity!
On this day you will see me testing out the new Eley Hawk Zenith 4 36g with the new Pro Eco Wad. They are a heavy load for pigeons but when the birds are this good you need some stopping power!
It was a good chance to test out these cartridges for when I get out pheasant shooting on some high birds in a few weeks time. I was very impressed with these cartridges but check out the video for yourself and see why I liked them so much 😁

Absolutely stunning shooting Rob! They are an amazing bird. It's a big challenge to judge line, lead and lateral drift all in one but trying to stay hidden at the same time really makes it interesting to say the least. You are right to use quality cartridges too. Never fails to amaze me how some folks pay a modest fortune on guns and all the kit but baulk at the idea of investing in a quality cartridge to do the real job well. Thanks for posting!

Is there some particular advantage in shooting copper coated lead shot or is it hoped they will escape a lead ban?
It deforms less is the only advantage but won’t escape the lead ban unfortunately. It is not classed as non toxic

Just a quick one, I see your shooting lefthanded, I'm lefthanded and struggling to find a shot gun o/u that fits, so what gun do you have?
Hi bud, there are loads of left handed guns on the market. All have different fit depending on each person but a professional gun fit will help you choose 👍 I use a blaser f3 vantage and it fits me quite well

What choke do you use, whats the cartridge shot zise and gram please
I use 1/2 chokes and they were 4 36g 👍
@fieldsportswithspeed is good because many people use 7.5 or number 6, but number 4 sounds for Duck

Too expensive for pigeons...but there great ive tried them
They are certainly expensive but I personally prefer a premium shell because I have greater confidence to do the job 👍
Right tools for the job, you don't take a knife to a gun fight,you must be full,full chokes.?
Absolutely!! And not full chokes, I use 1/2 choke. I have found the eco wads perform a lot better with a 1/2 choke compared to tighter chokes 👍
These cartridges are a REALY STUPID PRICE (hope you did not pay for them yourself.) We are using Clear Pigeon 6's and knocking them down at all ranges!
They are very expensive I absolutely agree but non of the heavier loads are cheap! They certainly do the job and the cost of the 3 boxes I used compared to the memories of some of these shots I had is non comparable! 👍 worth every penny 😁
