In this video we are travelling to Uzbekistan from Almaty, Kazakhstan.
For this, we first took train from Almaty to Shymkent which took around 12 hours. After that we booked a taxi from Shymkent to Uzbekistan border which took around 2 hours by road.

You could have taken the Talgo train direct to Tashkent from Almaty if you didn’t plan to stay in shymkent.
Actually we looked for that only however at that time tickets were not available

Actually we wanted to book a direct train from Almaty to Tashkent however the tickets were not available. So the best option left was to go to shymkent first then Tashkent.

No it won’t work in Uzbekistan, u need to buy new sim. Just at border crossing you there are 2-3 sim provider from where you can buy and prices are also very nominal.

Hello mam. I m student in kazakhstan almaty.... Can i take flight from delhi to tashkent and then tashkent to almaty by train... Do we need transit visa in Uzbekistan??
Yes for Taskent you need to apply evisa/transit visa for uzbekistan if you want to visit tashkent first you can take train directly to Almaty.
Hi madam, we are staying in almaty from feb 14 to feb 19. We want to visit Tashkent for 2 days, frb 20,21. Again we will come to almaty on feb 22. We have flight to india on feb 22.

Yes, as per my knowledge you need to apply E visa prior to visit there which will cost you 20 us dollars.
I met few people in Tashkent who did the same like first they went Almaty then to Uzbekistan and then again back to Almaty.

Hi Amrit... May i ask.. So from Almaty to Uzbekistan is there any stop over, as i saw you need to alight the train.. While other youtube that i this was not in.. As in do we need to stop Symkent..

You can directly book a train from Almaty to Tashkent. However for that you need to book it in advance at least 10-15 days prior from your journey date.
If not then you can book a train from Almaty to Shymkent, then take a taxi to Uzbekistan border which is around 1 hour 30 minutes drive.

Visa on arrival is free for Indians for 14 days, so there would be no issues while crossing the border.

Yes you can visit Uzbekistan and come back to Almaty Kazakhstan, however you need to apply for an e visa for Uzbekistan prior to visiting there which will cost you 20 dollars.

Can we book on same day of travel?
It is better to book atleast 3 days in advance. Same day you might not get ticket of your choice.
We booked 2 days before traveling and at that time also only few tickets were left.

Border se 1 hi route ki bus jati h Jo aapko city route k mid point pr drop krdegi, vha se aap apne hotel/hostel ki bus le skte hai.
Download 2GIS all if you use an iPhone, isme aapko kaunsi bus Leni h and bus ka kya number h, sb kuch pta chal jayega. It also shows live locations for all buses in the city.

Actually earlier we planned to go directly to Tashkent but the tickets were not available. So that's why we went to Shymkent first then to Tashkent.

@@amritgautamtravelstories Mam we want to travel from Almaty to Tashkent through train, the only confusion is while immigration they’ll aak from return or further travel ticket, we have return ticket from Tashkent and also have visa for Uzbekistan will the immigration officer agree with the same that we’ll book train ticket from Almaty, please assist you have this experience and have gone through this. Yes, yes if you have valid student visa in uzbekistan then you can travel to kazakhstan by land border without return flight as you have the valid explanation that you will come back to Uzbekistan via land border only. Indians can stay upto 14 days with free visa access.

At the border crossing in Uzbekistan, only physical sims were available.
However in the city you might get E sim, but i am not sure.
