New Orchard Installation

In this video I will walk you through a new orchard install complete with irrigation, deer protection, and mulch. We will discuss some of the specifications related to pipe sizing for inline drip irrigation.

I have always wondered how something like this would work. Curious about the elevation and hardiness zone? It would be really interesting to see how things are going in a couple years.

Zone 4b. Approximately 6500 feet above sea level. I'll do an update this spring when the snow melts.

What a great setup! How much pressure to you get from fruit-eating pests such as squirrels? My neighborhood has a lot of old oak trees and the squirrels can strip a tree in just a couple days. Really puts a damper on my desire to plant more trees.

We have a lot of deer, elk, moose, squirrels, grouse, field mice, gophers. Luckily the owner of the property is an avid hunter and the Orchard is also designed to attract wildlife for the purpose of putting meat in the freezer. He probably won't eat the mice and gophers though, so we do wrap the trees and trap gophers.
