I also went through this. The day I was to mail our invitations off, My then fiancé called and said DONT SEND THEM......I sold everything to do with the wedding and went on a two week vacation to California. I met my Now Husband and we got married 3 months later in a very quiet low key wedding (the first one was a huge "Show"). We have now been Happily married 41 years! To this day we often say that we owe this other guy a Big Thank you, if he hadnt broken the engagement I would have never left for California and we would never have met!
As harsh as it seems - it's better this happened before you got married , rather than a few years down the line when it would of been that much more complicated . Sending love your way ❤️❤️

Oficially they are married, they married in the Uk, she said that in one of her vlogs. They did in order to get married later in France (paper work).
@@suvachatomar It's hard to know what really goes on when the camera is turned off and some people are just not comfortable in front of one. He may have seemed standoffish but CZcams videos are so edited that we really only see what the channel owner wants us to.
@@suvachatomar You can't really know if he loves her or not just by the way he shows on camera. Some people get really uncomfortable in front of one or they don't show much emotion in general, but that doesn't mean she wasn't loved
He was not the one darling....You are blessed with health,family and friends....I guarantee you will get through it....there is not a single doubt in my mind....
Amelia, I am so sorry for you. My current husband married his first wife and as they were driving away from the church in London he knew in his heart it was wrong, but he had made the commitment. Six months later she dumped him. He was so devastated that he left London and moved to Miami. That’s where I met him! We’ve been married 39 years and together for 41. People often ask us how we’ve been together that long. The answer is simple: you marry the right person. I am so glad that his first wife dumped him! He wasn’t the right person for her, but he is the one for me! You will find “the one”. ❣️❣️❣️

Yes! My mom was engaged when she was younger and they called it off. Shortly after, she met my dad and 40 years later they’re so in love. My fiancé was engaged before too, which ended with his ex cheating. He met me just a few months later and in two weeks I get to call his my husband! Better things will come

This takes guts. I'm not gonna lie. I stopped watching your channel because I was a bit overwhelmed with the wedding content. But to go from that to now having to face the world and say you're not ok and everything wasn't as it seems is truly courageous and something not alot of people have the strength to do. But it only proves one thing - you love and care deeply for the people in your life. It's a beautiful gift and something you should only share with someone who is worthy.

We are in similar situation. Wedding date was announced , bridal dress was ready, but wedding never happened. Was a tough time for me, coz I did not know how to manage my own emotion. But I did it. I survived it. Trust in the timing of god. He has better thing for us.

I’d like to say one thing; perhaps the one never comes, perhaps he comes and then you go or viceversa. This relationship didn’t work out but your relationship with yourself must stand still and strong. It won’t be easy and at this point it shouldn’t be. Don’t look for happiness if you feel sad, look for comfort and allow yourself to ride this rollercoaster of emotions.
You may or may not say “I do” to a man but remember to say “yes, I do” to yourself everyday.

I feel exactly the same as you right now and I am so grateful for Amelia posting this video and you commenting too. I was with my boyfriend for just under 3 years, also living together and I also thought I was spending the rest of my life with him, and he also broke up with me. It is also my first real heart break and I cannot see myself finding anyone else right now. Amelia's video has given me hope and strength too, and I hope that knowing that you're definitely not alone will help you too (as your comment helped me). So far, I have just found it helpful to take each day at a time.

Coming from a person who was in your shoes 16 months ago (engaged and having to cancel a wedding) it does get easier. Although there are days where I think ‘Why me?!!’ I agree it was a time which showed how loved I was and what great family and friends I had. You can do this.

I agree. There was something negative about him to my eye; a certain palpable distance between him and Ameila that I could sense objectively (but when you are in love, you may not be alert to). Amelia seems so warm and open, and I found him a bit cold in her presence. In time I think she will look back and realise he released her from an unhappy future and she will be grateful. There is someone better out there for her. I know it. Someone more like Guy, perhaps. A best friend with warmth, laughter and positivity as their default. Life is full of drains and radiators. Amelia is the latter and she needs someone to reflect her warmth back at her. Not absorb it.

Hi Amelia, although i have been following you for many many years, I have only left a few comments but now is the time again. My heart broke on your behalf when i saw your video and i knew what was coming when i say the grief in your expression and the weight on your shoulders. I really want to reach out to you and comfort you now that you are in the hardest of time. I think you are already very well reflected in knowing that time is the best healer. This is especially true for you as joy in life is a skill. It is something that we most focus on and work on for it to flourish. For some it comes natural and for others, it can be learned. It is not found in material objects nor in luxurious lifestyles or privileged. These things are not enjoyed, felt or truly appreciated unless you have that skill for joy. I watch your channel because i see in you that you have that skill and it inspires me. Thank you for being you and sharing.
I was so happy to hear that you found Brene Brown and that her research and thoughts have had the same positive influence on you as it had on me years back when i started reading her books. I am happy to know that your platform can now have guided more people towards her Ted Talks and books and spread even more insight and inspiration. I hope that you can also have some comfort in knowing the impact you have had. i would also like to recommend reading Alain de Botton's book called Status Anxiety and pretty much all books he has written. I hope they can bring you something good like they did for me.

I was in a relationship for many years and when it ended I felt exactly as though you described even though we weren’t engaged. When the right person comes along you will know it and you will be SO GLAD that this did not work out the way you had hoped. Oh you have been through a shocking time..my daughter went through just the same before christmas last year. Aside from the heartbreak of a sudden break up you've both lost your home and love nest . It's a huge start over. Wishing you all the best to carry you through too.

I went through this . The exact same thing. I called mine off 6 weeks prior to the wedding. Then 1 year later, I met my now hubby of 16.5 years. You are right . You are so blessed to have so many who love you. The last few weeks I have wanted to just reach inside the computer or my phone and just hold you and hug you like a good older sister and tell you that this too will pass. I never comment but you are strong, you will become wiser, and time will heal your wounds! My rule of thumb was to see how my partner reacts to life’s curveballs (tragedy, financial burdens, disagreements etc). These reactions can show you your partners commitment and love to your relationship. Unfortunately I know some people that experience this after marriage and they couldn’t work through it. Lily Pad l feel the same as you. I lost my beautiful mum in October and watching wedding videos is both lovely and heart wrenching, because that’s an experience we will never get to have.
