I remember back in the mid-70s when we, my friends and I were 10 to 12 years old. Riding our bikes down the road, we used to say, we were training to ride in the tour de France one day. Grown men would swerve at us to run us off the road & hurling racial insults, and sometimes throw beer bottles at us when they drove by. We were never hit by the bottles but beer would get on us as the bottle whizzed by. Even as a kid, we would think how can they do this to us, we're just kids?
