  • Tutorial video on creating looping knot designs using symbols in Affinity Designer
In this video, I will show you how to create looping bands or knot designs using symbols. Affinity Designer's symbols are a very flexible and often underrated tool for creating great designs. One symbol and 8 instances create an intricate design. Adding the 'sync' functionality to the mix allows colour changes to symbols. While keeping the shape intact, the different instances can have different colours or gradients.

Great video. I have never used symbols before and it looks like they can be super helpful with certain things. Thanks for sharing.

A nice idea, but unfortunately not explained very clearly ( -or perhaps too quick for me?).

This is a little more advanced and some knowledge of Affinity Designer and the tools is recommended. It's more about the approach to creating something seemingly complex with symbols than the explanation of every tool used.
