I heard max porter speaking about the book on one of the guardian books podcast yesterday and put it straight on my wish list then!! He read a section and it was so beautiful, definitely going to have to pick it up now!! :)

I read the Ted Hughes collection earlier this year and really enjoyed it, so this book sounds like something I'm going to have to get my hands on- you definitely sold it to me! Great review! :)

Great review! The book definitely made me sad but I also found myself chuckling quite a bit. The crow's antics were so mischievous but also full of rage. The saddest bit for me was the bit where we learn of Crow's bad dream :( :(

I cried like a baby on the chapters section, and the last page. But I did laugh a good bit with crows antics

I had not heard of Ted Hughes or the Max Porter book, but since Emily Dickinson's poem Hope Is the Thing with Feathers is one of my favorites, I think I'll enjoy it.

This books sounds so interesting! Especially when you mentioned that it could be a good start for someone who hasn't read much poetry yet (like me!!). Do you perhaps know any poetry collections that could be interesting for someone who wants to start reading more poetry?

I love when a writer's prose sounds like poetry. I definitely will be picking this one up to read! And I love how the title of the book references the poem by Emily Dickinson 'Hope is the Thing with Feathers'. Such a clever title! Thanks for sharing! 😊

I recommend reading Without Feathers by Woody Allen instead. Its epigraph is Dickenson's line "Hope is the thing with feathers" and it is hilarious.
