They were talking the other day about youtube channels having a creed, I try to make helpful / educational videos. Not always, but some times. Thanks so much for watching and I am glad you learned from it. Feel free to watch more and let me know if you pick any thing else out.
Thank you Chud. Very helpful. I have a 79 G20 Van running big block and am currently fitting up a 4l80E auto. I am modifying converting the tail housing to speedo cable drive. I need to find out the diff gear ratio in order to calibrate for speedo accuracy. Cheers.Very much appreciated.
CHUD#327,Thank-You, Sir for taking the time to share your expertise and down-to-earth commentary. Your video was extremely useful and greatly appreciated. Wow, thanks for that excellent comment. Please feel free to watch any of my videos and please leave more comments if you do. Thanks for watching and for your service!
And I just want to say I love your comment! Keep them coming!:) And just tonight, I have been working on about 3 new videos. I hope you will enjoy them, too.
I do like the 16 in 92 rs wheels but the corvette and camaro rally wheels looks very veery nice on a chevy s10 with nice trim rings and center caps. I own a 1982 chevy s10 350-350 swap and 15x8 rallys on the rear 15x7 rallys on the front i really like the look. Also have a set of rally wheels on my 78 malibu. All your wheels are good choices
What a coincidence, I now own a 1986 chevy s10 350-350 swap and 15x8 rallys on the rear 15x7 rallys on the front i really like the look. Please check it out and let me know what you think.
"Yeah, that tape" Haha... Thanks for the video. Makes perfect sense to count the rotations, but I never thought to do that. I was NOT looking forward to opening up the differential and counting gear teeth.
Stephen Sargent do you never leave reply buttons? For me, I like to see how cheap I can complete my projects. And occasionally, I have to buy new parts, there is just no way around it. I have to get new parts for my tractor real soon, keep watching. I also plan to get a new master cylinder for my dune buggy project. Thanks for your question, keep them coming.
I hope you are talking about my traction bars. Those are the same type I used to have on my first car year and years ago. I am started a van build project and I think those same slappers are going to be seen again in that build series. I hope you will be watching and I hope to hear from you again.
Yeah, I lost that about 1 and a half from your house. Im not sure the road name. But, it was somewhere before that little grade. I heard it hit my inner fender but wasnt sure ehat it was. Until, I went to clean my battery terminals, next morning and had no wrench or socket. I had used it 5o try to tighten up the hold down on battery. The '85 k-5 with the j-code 6.2 8s rough riding old cob.
I have 35's on my 05 F150. Trying to figure out if previous owner swapped out the rear end or if its still stock. My shift point are not correct, on the road it kind of chuggs till I let off the accel and then it seems to pop into the right gear. I have a flashpaq tuner on the way to see if I can tune it to perfection. Thanks for your time.
Mark Ramirez this is a sure way to find you ratio as long as you have one tire turning, count correctly, and then divide correctly. thanks for commenting back and good luck.
Okay I get this but I broke my rear and one wheel completely off and I think I shredded the internals in the pumpkin should I just crack it open and look for it on the gears
Great video if I did it right I have a 4.10, but the question I got is I checked if I have limited slip rear end and I do but when I turn the tire the other side barely turns is that normal
Funny. about the street, the weird thing is, I sold this one before I ever got it finished and on the street. I am sure it would have been fine, but never go to experience it. Thanks so much for watching.
+David Chambers It depends on what your truck already has. My first car, 1969 Camaro, came with a 2.73. It was really high which is good for top speeds and gas mileage. In my S-10, I went with the 3.42. I never got to drive it on the highway before I sold it, but I think I was going to like it. I would look around for a good deal on something higher, try it and see if I like it. thanks for watching and for the question.
I put a set Irock-z rims on my 1985 GMC a 4zx4 S15 and I noticed they were marked front and rear on the actual Rims well some reason on the front the rim stick out like at least a couple of inches past the Fender wells where as the back there tucked inside the Fender well is there any reason the offset might be different from the back to the front if I were to switch it would it make any difference or do u know thanks
Have a 99 Mustang, converted to Windsor stroked 408, tremic trans with a 9 inch rear. Car presently has corvette calibers/ 12 inch rotors all way around. I would like convert to cobra brakes. I suspect I would need correct bracket assembly for calibers . Also the present rear calibers don't allow for e brake hook up which is different on ford calibers. Any suggestions on what correct parts I need to convert back to all Ford with e brake operation. Thanks Bruce
I am not sure, but there has to be a website that specialize in what you are asking. Sound like a sweet set up, do you have any videos of it on here. Thanks for watching.
By the way, many of the s trucks came with a factory spiro-locke differential. Only locker available stock. And does NOT spin both tires in reverse. Only when power applied going forward. Gets you stuck most every time.
As far as I know, the rear end came out of an S-10. Some one had added the locker to it. I had a neighbor put a posi chunk out of a Camaro into his S-10 rear end. It worked great. Good luck and I want to see a video of it when you are all done. Thanks for watching,
To get a general idea setup like he did turn the wheel one turn, watch how many turns of the driveshaft if about 3 and a half you have 3.42, if shy of 3 turns you have 2.73, if 3 and 3 quarter turns you have 3.73, if little over 4 turns 4.11 and so on.
Wow that's alot harder than how I found out what mine was, I discovered it on accident while I was doing exhaust work, saw a dirty sticker on the axle and wiped away the dirt and it had mine right there on the sticker
yes sir all my ppl are in fla mostly Daytona and up around baxley ga.. i traded the truck for a nothere thats already done has a 427 2 bad things about it is the shifter is a hurst pro matic 2 i hate that thing and other is its been lowered so much it bottoms out some one took the rubber stopers of the fram like rideing in a horse and buggy also it has a vette roll pan with the lighgs need to find me a parts truck with a good back bed
+William Wimberly That truck sound like a video waiting to happen. It is a good thing that the gas prices are down to help feed that 427. I used to have a slammed VW bus, that thing too rode like a tank. I went ahead a got her back up to stock height and put some normal tires back on it. It actually turned out nice.
93 GMC Sonoma stock rear in the motor is a Chevrolet 350 transmission is a three speed turbo. What is a good suggested rear end to do a little hot rod in but at same time I’d like to be able to do 80 miles an hour or faster at the highway
I would go with a 3.42:1 if performance is more important than gas mileage. It is an all around good choice. I had a 2.73:1 in first car and it did good, especially for gas mileage and the way gas prices are going... Thanks for watching and good luck. Are you doing any video on it?
Hello .thanks for the video I have a question. I have a Silverado 4x4.2001 I have 2 times to change the differential. I don't understand what's wrong. Any advice. Please. Thanks.
I would consider finding a whole new rear end with the same gear ratio as your stock rear end. I have looked into it, but there must be something wrong with yours. That or you just have too much horsepower, good luck and thanks for watching.
Henry Deloatch I would think that you could put a locker in the stock rear like mine had and it should be fine. Unless you are going to put some be sticky slicks back there, the back end is so light that it should spin before something breaks. Mine never gave me any problems, but I didn't have slicks either.
Thank you very much! Found your video right on time. Going to change my gasket tomorrow because of a leak. When I had mentioned it to my dad (lives in different state), he told me to go ask someone to show me how to find out what my gear ratio is. I thought Oh great, I got too many things to do on my truck that needs attention, everyone else is busy too, but I gotta make time to please Dad and figure out the ratio. Didn't realize how easy it is until your video, lol! And now I'm really glad my dad asked because this would be the perfect time to check the exact ratio. I don't know what it'll tell me but I guess my dad will give me a lesson when I tell him what mine is. Btw, what color did you end up going with?
I'm embarrassed to admit, I had a really hard time with the differential and got myself in a pickle. My plan was to torque the bolts on the cover to 20 ft lbs, starting off lower. As I tried torquing to 10, several of my bolts broke and now I guess I have to drill them out. I picked up some Grade 8 and 5 bolts (because store didn't have enough of the 8's). I don't know what grade my original bolts that broke are because there's no markings on the top (just has a #3 printed on top). The grade 5's I picked up, I don't even think they're heat resistant. Will these suffice as temp use until I can find the right bolts, or do I need to replace the gasket again once I remove the temp bolts? I presume I'll get a small leak once I remove any bolts, so not sure if that would compromise the new gasket I just put in. As far as the gear ratio goes, no ratio markings inside :( Got some numbers but don't look like ratios. I'll send a pic if I can figure out how. I counted about 1/2 way for each of the gears, 24 and 8, so I guess 3.0 would be a rough estimate. In the back gears (the one with about 16 teeth), had a small etching that looked like 2.756. Not sure if that represents the ratio.
I would love to see the pictures and the bolts shouldn't need to be heat resistant, rear end shouldn't be getting hot. You could use a new gasket or some silicone sealant. The number on the gears should tell the story. If the big gear would be about 24X2 which would be 48 and the little on the back is 16, then 48/16 = about 3.0. I wish you knew the exact number of teeth on each...
Good to know that heat resistant bolts not needed, thanks. So I guess as long as there won't be any leaks, I won't need to replace them. That will save a lot of time. I wish I was able to count all the gears too. Wasn't able to get them to rotate and the small one in the back is waaay back (hard to reach). I don't know why my truck always seems to be more complicated then the videos I watch on how to do things, lol! Not sure if there's a way to upload pics here in comments:(. Btw, Happy Easter!
I measure from the universal flange to universal joint flange, then I usually go to the junk yard and try to find one that is the right length. Only thing is they move the vehicles at the junk yard with a front end loader and most driveshafts are damaged, but if you look long enough, i can find one not damaged and the right length. We also have a drive shaft shop that will build anything you need. You can take one from the junkyard and they will shorten it for you. The junkyard only charges about $18 if you can find one that works. If you tell the drive shaft shop what vehicle and what transmission you have, the guy might already know which one will work. Hope this helps and if you watch my latest S-10 build for about last October, I walk you through how I find my driveshaft. Good luck and thanks for watching.
The 84 z28 wheels are the best looking to me. I got a 1983 s10 v6 with a 5-speed. Just needs head gaskets and water pump. Would be cool to do a 283 swap tho
Me and you think a lot alike, I like the 84 Z/28 wheels and I have always thought a 283 would be the perfect little V8 for an S-10. Thanks for watching and let me know when you get the 283 between the fender wells.
chud327 yea I wonna go with that but my dad has a Ford career with a 302 swap and I wonna build a 305 just to one up him. Hahaha.. great video man following your build.
No, the gear ratio stays the same with positive traction. I would actual change if you didn't have a locker, the spinning tire would spin twice as fast. Thanks for watching and for the question.
I been trying to figure what’s wrong with my truck my truck won’t move in drive and If I spin my back tires my driveshaft doesn’t move and my tires also move in park is this a broken diff ?
There were 41 teeth on the ring gear and 12 on the pinion gear. If you divide 41 by 12, you get 3.41666666667 which round up to a 3.42:1. I hope this helps and thanks for watching.
+anthonyandino787 I am not sure what all rear ends will work. I would look for one originally from an S-10/S-15 that someone has put a locker in, but there may be other applications that would work. Good luck and show me some videos when you get to posi status.
+anthonyandino787 That sound great to me, I found a great deal on mine off of Craigslist. Or you could just by your own locker and install in your current rear end. That is, if you like your rear end gearing.
Before you go to all this trouble, look for a metal tag and read it off the tag. This will also let you know if it's limited slip. This is the easiest method.
Thanks but question please. Have locking posi. do I still divide by 2? I think it's 3:55 but unsure. have power glide 2 speed which makes it harder to guestimate. I would much rather know for sure. thanks I subscribed
Good question. If both tires are locked together and turning the same, you would not divide by two. Thanks for watching and especially for subbing. Good luck.
cool just hit me up any time what i have is 88 s10 tahoe with only 2200 miles on its like new really lol has a 4.3 in it with automatic trans and would like to get it set up for a v8 or maybe buy one thats already done and strip it or may even just trade this one but from all i have read dont think it will be too hard being it has a 4.3 already but i have been following u and your close to me so figured u may could be some help in pointing me in right direction... thanks will
+William Wimberly Yea that sounds cool. As for yours, the v8 would bolt right to your transmission. Everything behind the trans can stay just like it is, unless you start making too much power. Motor mount will be on of the biggest things that you will need. Or like you said, some one might be wait to trade you. My first V8 s10 came with the v8 already in it. My neighbor did all the hard work and got tired of messing with it. He bought my full size truck and pretty much gave me his S-10. I then drove the wheels almost off of it. That is when my addiction began. I have had about 14 S10's over the years, or at least that is how many I can remember. I should do a video one day and show all the pictures of my S-10 pickups and Blazers. Some people would get into that... Good luck and keep me updated.
Mark Ramirez yes, the tires size is irrelevant. It will work just the same with smaller or bigger tires. Hope this helps, what size tires do you have? Thanks for watching.
chud327 that’s how i found my 2011 Silverado had 3:08 gears and sucked at towing even with 5.3 liter. I found the code in glove box.... after I had already bought it though.
@@johntate4638 It's not stupid. What if the previous owner changed the gear ratio? Now, you know how to determine without it written in front of you. Knowledge is powerful thing.
The guy that bought it agreed with you. He wanted the rusty rallys with dry rotted tires more than the z/28's with almost new BFG's. Thanks for watching.
I'm confused. You jacked up both rear wheels, then immobilized one of the wheels. Why not just jack up one rear wheel so that you would not have to jam a hammer beneath the wheel on the opposite side? It would have the same effect, right, or did I miss something here?
Jacking up one side would work perfect, as long as it is not a pose. I think I jacked mine up on both sides for better camera access, at least that sounds like a good excuse. Thanks for watching.
do the same steps to check the ratio of my front axle? both axles need to be the same ratio am i right? is there any others that need matching gear ratio that i need to know of?
Why not just look at the tag? That one likely has GT4 stamped on it, which is a 3.73. I get it. Just in case the tag is missing, you can use this method. But, still, he could have said, "If this tag is missing......".
+PantyPirate Thanks, I actually sold it and the guy that bought it want the rallys. Those rallys are very popular and good looking! Thanks so much for watching and especially for commenting.
I am actually going to buy a little square body S-10 tomorrow. It is really clean, factory black. It has the little 2.8 with 5 speed but it's a very nice starting point. I'm going to throw a set of old school Centerline's, and I have a SB 406. I'm trying to find the easiest route for a Posi-Trac...any ideas?
+PantyPirate I would suggest keeping a close eye on Craigslist, but that may take too long. You might just have to buy you a little locker and put it in yourself. Are you going to make us some video?
+chud327 You know, I never thought about a video. I think that's a good idea, like I said it looks good but a video on each $$$ step lets other people judge what they may want to do first, or wait till 3 or 4 steps into it. I know I'll make a walk around and under the hood, and inside so I can see progress. I'm on a budget though, so it'll take a bit, all nice things do. I forgot to mention on your S-10, I liked the way you used the VW gas tank, Hea if you got the bed off one, start making in nice and custom, clean it all up and paint it. Git er done. I never thought of buying a little locker, I'll have to check into it, but again, if I got it apart I'm going to change Rings and Pinion, it's going to be a toy, something to drive and cruise in, gotta be dependable. Thanks, if I get to bring it home tomorrow I'll post a quick video for all. We are still a couple hundred off on the price, but I don't see it as a deal breaker, thanks Chud327.
No problem, you could use a solar cooker reflector, a mirror, or even take a shinny piece of tin off the roof. I need to do this again on my current S-10, I might use a use a whole roll of aluminum foil and get a tan while I am under... Thanks for watching!!
+Corbin Ramey When I sold that truck, the guy want those rally wheels on it. I said they are rusty, the tires are dry rotted, and one tire has a knot on it... He didn't care, he said, "I like the way they look..." They were a big hit.
cool deal .... well maybe i get down sake a hand sone been following u for a while if u run cross anyone that has the mounts or a good v8 hit me up have a deal on a 588ci but maybe a bit much lol also guy trying to sell me a 383 but i think a good little 350 is all i need in a little truck like that...
+William Wimberly 588 would be crazy! Not that you shouldn't do it! I put a bone stock 307 in mine and it did just fine for a good sounding daily driver. Although a 383 is probably my favorite engine (even though I have never actually owned one) the 350 will work super in your truck. I had one with a 350 with truck head and a lopey cam. It sounded great and ran fast, but would turn enough rpms to blow it up, it was perfect. I had a video of it doing a burnout, but I think I deleted it. It had poor sound and the video quality wasn't the best. Oh and that thing would back fire like a shotgun, that would have may and incredible video...
Yes, I love those, but when I lowered it, they would fit on any more. I will save them for a future project I guess. Thanks for watching and for the double comments.
I do respect the people who take the time to make videos to help others with information . ive certainly learned a lot from watching ......

It is way easier to find the build sticker in the truck. It is inside the glove box most of the time and will have gear ratio printed there.

pro trick: you can watch movies on Flixzone. Been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.

It's a little more sketchy on an automatic, but works all the same. Fantastic way of figuring out your gears
Awsome, now I can know my differential gear myself with this smart way...
Hisham Jallabi Thanks for the comment and that is what I am here for...
Just want to say I love your videos! keep them coming! :)

Sweet video, I say in green but then its stiil up to you. Which ever colour you pick its will be good. Thanks for Sharing
How did I know you would say green. I bet Bingo would say green too.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks dude! this is perfect!

Can also read rpo codes in glove box if they are eligible amd you know parts havent been changed not just for this but many parts
rally wheel always looks good
I like them too! Thanks for watching!
what is a 1989 chevy silveraco 2wd gear ratio usually? Ima try this, just asking ahead of time. Also, what's better posi traction or open rear end?
Nice, informative video!
Thanks and thanks so much for watching.
Good way of explaining...
fords have a small tag on one of the pumpkin cover bolts, you can read those numbers and look them up online
I don't have a lot of Fords, but that is good advice. Thanks for watching.
Great video.
Thanks so much and thanks for watching.
LOVE THE OLD SKOOL SLAPPERS!!!!!!

The rear end ratios 341 if it has a 12 tooth pinion in a 41 ring gear divide 41 by 12 3.41 route 373 and I do have 370 gears my truck has one
Thanks, good explanation. Thanks for finding my ratchet too, i wondered where that went.
So glad to help out and I am enjoying the ratchet still. Thanks for watching.
16" camaro ones and awesome video
I think you are the first to say it, but I too love the 16" wheels. Maybe that is what I will put on my next S-10 V8 build. Thanks for watching.
Look inside the glove box. Done.
Just joshing. Good video.

Hello .thanks for the video
I have a question.
So you have to turn tire 10 times and also count the times the driveshaft turn? THANKS
Yes, then divide by 10. Then take that number and divide by 2. I hope this helps and thanks for watching.
Great vid mid 80s wheels b the choice for me
That is what I went with too. thanks so much for watching.
that same method work if you had a stock tire 275 but u got 35s or any thing like that?
yes this will work, tires size does not matter. Good luck and thanks for watching.
what rear end will bolt up in a s10 that is a posi traction and can stand up to a small block
It is soooo easy and I am so glad it helped you. Thanks for watching. Let me know what you find out.
Hey there what car would make a good dones for posi trac for a 93 s10 I’m trying to build one .
I had an s-10 one time that some one had put a lock in from a Camaro or Firebird... thanks for watching and good luck.
thanks ,thats easy enough !!
You are so welcome, I hope it helps and thanks for watching.
Thanks man. I'll use your method to see which ratios I have on my 86 K10 and 88 S10 with a G80 locker
It is the best method I have used, thanks for watching.
If you have a posi all you need to do is turn the wheel until the driveshaft turns once then however many time your wheel turned is your gear ratio
Yes, with the posi, you wouldn't have to stop the other tire either... Thanks for your input.
How is the best way to make sure that I ordered the right driveshaft? there are so many different ones. Or howd
Do you measure for wheelbase
It shouldn't be hard for a Chevy to show up a Ford, but that is just my opinion. Thanks for following!
You sound like Mr. Rogers! lol good video..
I have heard Bob Ross too, thanks for watching.
Is your gear ratio gonna be different if you have positive reaction ?
No, the gear ratio stays the same with positive traction. I would actual change if you didn't have a locker, the spinning tire would spin twice as fast. Thanks for watching and for the question.
I been trying to figure what’s wrong with my truck my truck won’t move in drive and If I spin my back tires my driveshaft doesn’t move and my tires also move in park is this a broken diff ?
Yes, sounds like it might be. Never really seen that happen before. thanks for watching and good luck.
Great video, how do you figure that 12:41 = 3:42 Gears? What did you divide it by?
There were 41 teeth on the ring gear and 12 on the pinion gear. If you divide 41 by 12, you get 3.41666666667 which round up to a 3.42:1. I hope this helps and thanks for watching.
Good shit my boi
I have a 93 s10 Tahoe and it came stock with a 4.3 and a 5speed trans, I was wondering what posi rear end would bolt up to it, thanks for reading.
+anthonyandino787 I am not sure what all rear ends will work. I would look for one originally from an S-10/S-15 that someone has put a locker in, but there may be other applications that would work. Good luck and show me some videos when you get to posi status.
+chud327 ok thanks I'll probably go online and see how much one would run me, thanks for the info when she's up and running I'll post a video!
Great time if that tag is still there. Thanks for the comment and for watching.
Yea but how you get the extra 3 on the 373?
And for the guys looking for something to do, a 4×4 rear is wider than the 4x2 rear.
You know, for that pre runner long travel look.
Thanks for watching
Thanks but question please. Have locking posi. do I still divide by 2? I think it's 3:55 but unsure. have power glide 2 speed which makes it harder to guestimate. I would much rather know for sure. thanks I subscribed
Good question. If both tires are locked together and turning the same, you would not divide by two. Thanks for watching and especially for subbing. Good luck.
@@chud327thanks
Anytime!
cool just hit me up any time what i have is 88 s10 tahoe with only 2200 miles on its like new really lol has a 4.3 in it with automatic trans and would like to get it set up for a v8 or maybe buy one thats already done and strip it or may even just trade this one but from all i have read dont think it will be too hard being it has a 4.3 already but i have been following u and your close to me so figured u may could be some help in pointing me in right direction... thanks will
+William Wimberly Yea that sounds cool.
Yes what year S-10 are you guys working on I just bought a 1994 and would like to build it or at least make it my project truck. So what do you think.
Mine was an '88, I think you should go for it, I need to find me another to V8 swap. Good luck and thanks for watching.
what if yo uhave bigger tires will that affect this process
You can still check you gear ratio the same way. thanks for watching.
Rally withe caps and rings. Wild yellow or Chevy Orange paint!
Thanks for watching
And cosmetics says a photo of an after-market 9" with brackets and what not, stuck right on that purty little punkin lid.
Thanks for watching
You can get the build sheet that has all pertinent info. Engine, gearing etc. A mechanic downloaded it for me.
Make sure it is all stock, mine was 30 something years old. It has different engine, trans, rear end, etc. Thanks for watching
Does this method work even if you have aftermarket rims and tires(Larger ones).
Please help.
Mark Ramirez yes, the tires size is irrelevant. It will work just the same with smaller or bigger tires. Hope this helps, what size tires do you have? Thanks for watching.
Thanks👍
No problem and thanks for watching.
thanks
welcome
WHAT DID THE REAR END COME OUT OF ? OR WAS IT CUT DOWN TO SIZE
Best I remember, the guy said it was out of an S-10, he just put a locker in it. Thanks for watching.
or look at your build sheet in the glove box and get the code and Google it or call your local dealer.
That would work if you have the stock rear end still in the vehicle. Thanks for the tip and for watching.
Look in glove box for the build code if it’s a gm
Good tip and thanks for watching.
chud327 that’s how i found my 2011 Silverado had 3:08 gears and sucked at towing even with 5.3 liter. I found the code in glove box.... after I had already bought it though.
Not always there. Just looked yesterday on my 97 Chevy 3500 6.5 turbo diesel. Absolutely no tags in the glove box
@@johntate4638
It's not stupid. What if the previous owner changed the gear ratio? Now, you know how to determine without it written in front of you. Knowledge is powerful thing.
Very informative, but check the sticker in the glove box... it will tell you all you need to know.
3:73 are best all around gears on a truck
Great all around gear for cars too. Thanks for watching.
Red diff cover with black writing or black diff cover with bright orange writing
Easy to mark a spot on the shaft..turn the wheel one time..count how many times the spot on the shaft turns..
That is one way, I feel my way is more precise unless you have a degree wheel on you drive shaft. thanks for watching.
I think the rally wheels would look the best on the S10's with the beauty rims. The others look too much like wagon wheels.
The guy that bought it agreed with you. He wanted the rusty rallys with dry rotted tires more than the z/28's with almost new BFG's. Thanks for watching.
I use a paint marker to dab a little glow the tooth that i count as #1. ring and pinion.
Thanks for watching
You can use the exact same procedures on the front and yes the front and back should be the same. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
What size tires are those?
Going by memory, I think they were 235 60 15's. Thanks for watching.
turn the wheel twice the driveshaft should turn basically 3 and 3/4 turns or 3.73 times
That is a good and quick way to estimate what you have. Thanks for watching.
Why not just look at the tag? That one likely has GT4 stamped on it, which is a 3.73.
I get it. Just in case the tag is missing, you can use this method. But, still, he could have said, "If this tag is missing......".
Tags rot away or get forgotten to be put back on. Mine is broken in half
douglas ga bout a hr from there next to waycross ga like to get your # some how i know we dont need to post it here lol..
+William Wimberly Considering CZcams is worldwide, that is not too far away.
do you not buy any new parts? for anything?
Only if I have too, thanks for watching
15 in. Rallys....Black Cover with Silver letters...Chud327. P.S., that Husky Rachet and 13 mm combo you found, it isn't mine. Thanks for sharing Chud.
+PantyPirate Cool can't wait to see it! The little lockers that I am thinking of are $300-$400 new.
What if I don't have a reflective wheel rim to divert light? Asking for a friend
No problem, you could use a solar cooker reflector, a mirror, or even take a shinny piece of tin off the roof. I need to do this again on my current S-10, I might use a use a whole roll of aluminum foil and get a tan while I am under... Thanks for watching!!
They need a little work to them but I still think you should put them on it
+Corbin Ramey When I sold that truck, the guy want those rally wheels on it. I said they are rusty, the tires are dry rotted, and one tire has a knot on it... He didn't care, he said, "I like the way they look..." They were a big hit.
2007 dodge 4wd auto 6.7
3d3mx48a77g824561....what rear gear
I not own out of state
I wish I could help, but I don't know... Good luck and thanks for watching.
Can I swap gears out of a S10 into my 90 Camaro
I think so, but you better double check with some one that knows for sure, I have never done it. Thanks for watching.
cool deal .... well maybe i get down sake a hand sone been following u for a while if u run cross anyone that has the mounts or a good v8 hit me up have a deal on a 588ci but maybe a bit much lol also guy trying to sell me a 383 but i think a good little 350 is all i need in a little truck like that...
+chud327 truck heads not truck head...
Most rear end over 30 thousand miles need to rear end oil changed any how.
That is a good point, who know how many miles were on this one, or if it had even been changed. Thanks for watching.
Do it black with white lettering outline lettering in red! Put the ralleys on thats wat i got on my 67 impala and 69 c-10!
Good suggestion! I wish I had a 69 C-10! Thanks for watching.
Rallies, only if you have the beauty rings and center caps. And I say black housing with red Chud327
ChevyCBM85 Thanks, so far everyone has said rallys. Keep watching and commenting!
Count the teeth on ring gear divide it with pinon you’ll get 383. 411. 513 and so on
That is the most precise method, but hard to do if you don't want to pull the rear cover and dump your oil... Thanks for watching.
1:22 old school traction bar.
Yes, I love those, but when I lowered it, they would fit on any more. I will save them for a future project I guess. Thanks for watching and for the double comments.
Just turn the wheel one time and count the driveshaft rotations. Even easier
I was turning just one wheel and counting driveshaft rotations. Thanks for watching.
cool
+William Wimberly do you have any kinfolk in Florida? I work with a gal named Wimberly.
Some Rearends have them stamped on the Right Tube
good point and thanks for watching.
