Everyone involved in demolishing those glorious mansions were fools. Public buildings such as schools or court houses should have been built on any of the available land around the city. Throughout its past, New Bedford has made bad decisions (and not in just destroying its historic mansions). It could have become a major tourist destination, bringing in a lot of revenue for the city.
