Hey everybody! Thanks for watching this video of 50 Crazy Music Fun-Facts. I've wanted to do something casual like this for a little while. I love trivia, I love music, so this came naturally. Some of these are more well-known than others, but for the most part, they're 100% true! I did my best to fact check everything. There are a few technicalities in there, but whatever. Hope you like it!

For those too lazy to check the Wikipedia article on Mayhem, the lead singer Dead committed suicide in 1991, and the guitarist Euronymous photographed his body to use as the cover art for their bootleg live album, Dawn of the Black Hearts. Euronymous took bits of Dead's skull and made necklaces for members of the black metal scene. Bassist Necrobutcher was disgusted and quit the band, and he was replaced by Varg Vikernes. Vikernes then stabbed Euronymous to death 2 years later.

Extra Trivia! Lenny Kravitz wrote the song 'Johnny Cash'. The song contains odd lyrics if you don't know the story behind it. 'Hold me like Johnny Cash. Whisper in my ear like June Carter...' Lenny was driving when he received word that his mother had died. Not trusting himself to keep driving he stopped at a recording studio he was familiar with and broke down inside. Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter-Cash were leaving when they saw Lenny sobbing. After finding out what happened Johnny firmly embraced him and began praying. June was whispering encouraging things in his ear. They stayed with him for some time like this and Lenny has never forgotten the kindness they showed him in this moment.

Extra Trivia! The band ZZ Top got their start pretending the be the band The Zombies. The song Time of the Season had just become a massive hit in the US and people were wanting to hear them live. The thing is that The Zombies were an English band and had broken up so no tours. A promoter, realizing that there was money to be had, hired, not one but two groups to portray themselves as the Zombies to US crowds. He later tried the same thing with the Animals but the lead singer of that band went to a concert with a bunch of Hell's Angels and chased them off of the stage in the middle of a concert.

Big Tom Lehr fan here. My mom who also recorded in the 50’s owned his albums. Some of my faves? Be Prepared, The Vatican Rag, I wanna go back to Dixie. Really impressive 2 embraced Tom’s mathematics in song as these days some of Tom’s lyrics could be considered politically incorrect. However, just like the novel Tom Sawyer, there are offenses there that need footnotes. Tom is a product of his time. Glad he’s still around.
