- A logical argument as to why I believe this is the best city for retirement in the Philippines. What say you? Do you have a favorite city? Dumaguete, Cebu, Iloilo, Baguio, Manila, BGC, Makati? Tell us why you love your city.

If you’re moving to the Philippines, Manila is the best starting point. If you branch out to other islands and provinces, it’s cheaper if you can afford to stay you like the city life great!
Great advice. Thank you for watching and taking the time to contribute to the channel. Best, Joe
Wow! I.loved it very good idea.amen!
Thank you! I appreciate you watching and taking the time to write. Best, Joe
So how many of these places have you visit? How long have you lived on the Philippines?
Hi thank you for watching. I’ve been in Philippines for 1.5 years and have travelled 14,000 kilometers on Luzon visiting different places. I’ve been to Australia, Singapore, and Korea. Will soon start traveling more islands in Philippines. Thank you for taking the time to write, Joe.
Great vid, first time watching you but definitely a new sub...take care
Hi John, Thank you very much. I look forward to seeing you here in the future. Best, Joe
Excellent excellent excellent video and content. Thanks you 🙏🏼
Thank you my friend. I really appreciate your continued support! Cheers, Joe
Cavite isn’t too bad, but traffic is. They’re working on it. Just stay home on the weekend and peek traffic hours. What they really need is over passes over the small cities. They are working on the train system. Which will be a big plus
I’m with you on the weekend and peak hours warning. I travel to Cavite weekly and it can be an adventure. Thank you for the valuable contribution. Best, Joe.
We're on the east edge of Pasig (across Felix Ave is Cainta), but I'm not a big fan of sitting for hours on the Ortigas Ext., or Marcos Hwy, just to go a few kilometers to the mall!
No sir, we'll be moving to Angeles City area, in July! Less people, lower rent, and still as many amenities as Metro Manila!
Really great points. Thank you for contributing to the discussion!
I was born and raised in the Philippines.
$400 will not give you a comfortable life in the Philippines.
You are giving false reassurance.
I said you can rent a place for 400 and that will leave most of us with plenty of money to live a good life.
He said 400 or less for rent! Not for living
Isn't Dumaguete also known for it's fighting vloggers
I think you’re onto something! 😂
Its known for the 70 year old foreigners who have breed with a poor poor province girl. Everything thinks the kid is his great grandkid but its really their child.
I thought it was called "Drama-guete" ?
Drama-guette , spoiled by expats, I think there is 3 choices, in order of congestion, Manila, Cebu, Iloilo, last one would be my choice, clean city with still great hospitals and easy to get to Bacolod, Manila short flight, and, if you want to jazz it up for a few days go to Boracay, or less crowded , go to the magnificent Concepcion Bay Islands...
@@dennisbilkert2915 Hi Dennis, more great points.. Thank you!
Your travel costs are only applicable to Manila unfortunately. Most of the air routes in the country are like a hub and spoke network, with Manila as the hub. Also depends heavily on the person. I have some friends that enjoy the single lifestyle and come because of that which directs their choices. Most retired or soon to be rettired expats that I know that have been here a while or have visited several times tend to avoid big congested cities such as Manila and Cebu (this is why Dumaguete and Valencia are so popular). Nothing wrong with big cities (I spent 5 years in Metro Manila), but it is a lifestyle that not everyone is comfortable with. Even though I enjoyed my time in Makati and Pasig I am happier now in Iloilo province. The nice thing is that there are so many choices in the Philippines - not that hard to match a location to your personal vision of paradise.
All good points! Thank you! 😊
Angeles City is where it's at! ~ AceBachelorCool
I can see that! Many of the same reasons! Thank you for contributing!
We're moving to Mabalacat in July
Are you going to Japan
Hi David, it’s on my list, but no firm date.
Definitely not manila that’s a big hodgepodge it’s Davao and Mindanao number one for best and least expensive
Thank you for the great and valuable input. I’ve heard nothing but great things about Davao. Best, Joe.
