For them to take inspiration from Cyndi Lauper circa 1983 for the 2016 film's depiction of Columbia was one of the production's few glimpses of absolute brilliance.

That's what I was thinking! I don't buy for a moment that boy isn't already fully sexually liberated, so it kinda quashes the moment. Original Brad kept fighting Rocky's puppeteering, because he still wasn't fully comfortable with himself as a sexual being. This Brad very briefly appears to be fighting Rocky's control then he just drops it and looks fully comfortable flaunting. The guy is hot, but it definitely takes away from the character. I haven't watched this full thing but all the more subtle characterizations seem like they've been scrubbed away. Frank is messy in the original and he looks messy; this Frank looks constantly polished and put together. This version kinda sucks the fun out by trying to make everything look pretty; the original is chaotic and that's what makes it fun.

The desperation and fear, yet excitement is missing, which sucks, because holy hell his voice is amazing. I also think he could of pulled it off really well for that same feeling. "Help me" was fine, "mommy" is where the shift already happened too soon. The I'll be good, should be hesitant, like desperate, like "please make it stop, I'll be good if you make it stop." Then "What's this" confusion "I feel sexy" slowly transitioning to sultry from upset and baffled. Then "Here it comes again" basically like orgasming uncontrolled, powerful, surprising. The nuance would of been so damn good with his voice and appearance.
The oddest part for me was Laverne Cox as Frank. Frank was always portrayed as a man’s man but wears women’s underwear. Idk, to me there is a difference between a transvestite and and transsexual. I like Laverne, but I also feel being on a Rocky horror cast has made me look at this version with a more critical eye.

So when I heard there was a TV special I was kinda scared cuz I knew the they wouldn't do it as much aggressive as they should. It's not bad, is just not what they fans are used to.

I feel as though Colombia and Rocky are more of people doing a cover of the song, Colombia not remembering the tune and Rocky being having watched beforehand. Brad and janet are the only ones who feel like the are actually performing the song on stage, even if their moves are a bit much.

I like this production better than I thought I would. Prefer the original, but this feels like a really solid traveling show. Which is how it works, everyone is recast at some point
they made them all pretty in the most boring possible way, the costumes look cheap, and i love laverne cox but i dont think she was the right fit for this role, Frank is supposed to be blurring the lines between gender and be both man and woman, so casting a trans woman to play him feels like the wrong move, like they're saying she's not a full woman. he would be better off played by a nonbinary person or someone who was much more in between genders. i had a bad feeling about the remake, looks like they took all the heart out of it.

I feel they did it better in this version because they did it without the corsets so they could dance better, but annaleigh's part was no where near nell campbell's part in this song, but i would say the rest of them did better in this version than thr '75 version.

I like this production better than I thought I would. Prefer the original, but this feels like a really solid traveling show. Which is how it works, everyone is recast at some point
they made them all pretty in the most boring possible way, the costumes look cheap, and i love laverne cox but i dont think she was the right fit for this role, Frank is supposed to be blurring the lines between gender and be both man and woman, so casting a trans woman to play him feels like the wrong move, like they're saying she's not a full woman. he would be better off played by a nonbinary person or someone who was much more in between genders. i had a bad feeling about the remake, looks like they took all the heart out of it.

I feel they did it better in this version because they did it without the corsets so they could dance better, but annaleigh's part was no where near nell campbell's part in this song, but i would say the rest of them did better in this version than thr '75 version.

This whole version and this performance in particular was WAY too polished in my opinion. It is all supposed to be ironic and exaggerated. The point is that the singing is supposed to be pitchy and the dancing is clumsy on purpose. X

Costumes should be sexier or just like you know close to the original they shouldn’t have changed the choreography or the way they sing the lines I like Janet and brads actors but overall this could be so much better
