- This was a fun collaboration project I did with @FlexMachineTools using our Flex CNC G-20 04.
Flex will be sharing this American flag at their booth during the FABTECH event in September. If you’ll be at Fabtech stop the the Flex booth and have a chat with the crew!

I like the older traditional logo better ☺️. Nice video Adam!
agree, i think the current logo is better. New logo reminds me of skater sticker logos.
i know you probably dig your new logo, but I got to tell you the old one is far better. my 2 cents
Agreed
But look at the bright side, we got another cool video from Adam.😉
I also agree
I agree
It would probably look really good with a light bead blasting afterwards just to smooth out the machining marks.
Sorry, but as a long time viewer, I don’t particularly care for your new logo. I think the other one was much more appropriate, sorry But that’s the way I feel
You should try blowing compressed air on the shield Infront of the camera to help keep it clear as it gets sprayed
maybe some rain-x too to help the water bead up and blow away cleaner
The spinning circular window like on a Haas is the way to go
Either that or get Peter @EdgePrecision to make him one of his anti-coolant camera boxes. 👍
Going from your old shop and machinery to this new shop with these state of the art CNC and such, amazing work you produce... This what it looks like when you take pride in your work!!!
Very Nice Adam.... love the new CNC equipment and the work you're doing on it! Congrats Sir !
I second Steve. What work was actually done here?
Exactly what I need after a long day working! an Abom video to come home to and enjoy!
An Abom79 video and a beverage. LoL
JUST AMAZING
i like your new logo....modern and cnc style
As a graphic artist…I think your logo looks awesome.. well done👍👍👍👍
Great Job - looks great! One suggestion - make another with the H/W ratio at 10 to 19. This is the regulation aspect ratio of the US Flag.
You're sure crossing all those T's and dotting all those I's
10-19 is binding only for certain military uses.
Anyone else can do as they wish.
Of course it's the national flag and moreso the majority of Americans are the best in honouring the service personnel (military/law enforcement etc etc) as well as the Stars & Stripes and the national anthem.... *far better and much prouder than us British* - so I get the comment - if like me you're ex military - but don't get it if you're just nitpicking.
^Yes I crossed those T's and dotted those I's with greater accuracy ABOM79 would be proud of^
@@philhunt9297 I _did_ look it up because I was curious to what the actual specs were - no criticism directed at Adam whatsoever - the piece looks great
@@joeylawn36111 My British sarcasm ^up there^ - except the knowledge and respect of patriotic Americans for the military, the flag and the anthem....to that I salute those Americans.....respect
@@philhunt9297 Love the British! My dad was in the US Air Force and spoke well of British bases he served at during his career.
@@joeylawn36111 Thank you for the reciprocated respect - I doubt your dad, unfortunately, would have the same consideration with today's British citizens.
Yes military (US) to military (UK) there's a mahussive bond and respect but outside in civvy street - let's just say we aren't all British patriotically!
Thank you for taking us along for the process of not only making this piece but also the way that you set the machine up... I have to say that I find the machine that makes these parts just as fascinating as the process of making the parts... incredible all around, I had no idea about the shrink to fit and how that all happens... just a great and enjoyable way to spend some time on a Saturday watching you in the shop.
Some Rain-x and a light breeze of compressed air across the camera shield would work great, I think.
That new logo reminds me of the Acerbis logo, but it's quite nice.
Thx for showing!
👍👍👍
I remember the old days with just you and Stella in the old single bay. Pretty cool getting to watch your progress and learning curve into new tech.
that is really nice! great job yet again!!
Old Glory with the new logo looks fantastic
Maybe consider a small air jet on the lens, and/or maybe even an air curtain in front of the camera.
Nice finish for such a big machine.
Really cool getting to see that massive CNC in action!
Fabtech was excellent. I went to the Atlanta show a few years back and saw Adam and Abby, Keith Rucker, and others! Like meeting royalty. The show is a must see for the hobbyist to the professional.
To be honest. I like the mike logo better.
My compliments Adam Proof you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. Thing is, you have an edge on any average CNC jokey being a 3rd generation machinist of the old school with a good understanding of metals. tools, inspection. Always a pleasure too watch to as you are a damn good cinematographer.
Pretty awesome Abom. Can't wait to get my CNC machine up and running.
As always you put out excellent videos and work.
I have enjoyed your videos and the education I have benefited from your explanations. I am commenting to thank you for embedding the text that explains operations and less stoppage with voice overs
Looks great. Thanks for the video.
I like your new logo - much cleaner, sleeker than the old one. I was always confused by the special micrometer that had two angled cuts for attaching to the frame.
I like your first logo Adam. I’m sure we can get used to the new one.
Excellent project. I agree that the coolant makes viewing difficult. Maybe consider adding a stream of air before the polycarbonate protector to reduce the splash? This would also be a great project to powder coat if that is possible. It would take another final cleanoff pass, by it would really pop. Thanks and I commend the FLEX folks for creating the programming.
Well planned and executed,Adam.Thank you.
I had to watch just to see the new logo, sorry I like the old one better. I keep trying to get fired up about CNC, just can't seem to get there.
That was some fancy camera work while using the heat shrink machine. Nice job!
That is just ultra cool.
Changing your logo is like being a brewer and changing a very successful recipe.
Amazing how quickly the change out of the end mills and drill bit is.
The star student of Flex C&C Adam 👍👏👏👏👏👌🍺🍺
Looks good thanks for sharing
I like the new logo. Reminds me of NASA!
Glad you’re having fun with your new machines, can only imagine they weren’t cheap
Nice. Loving the new logo. Maybe should have made an undercut slot in the back for hanging before machining the front 🙂 ?
It looks great. I think it would also look good with a translucent paint job.
Looks awesome 👍
adding the acoustic music is a great addition, thanks!
GGOD STUFF! That came out great man. As far as the new logo...I LIKES!👍
That turned out great, you should trying reversing the cut so it has raised stars and white stripes then fill in the blue & red areas with red & blue epoxy 😁
Cool to see the flex make something so small in comparison to the L channel and shafts from before. Truly a very flexible machine.
Digging the new logo and project I remember going with my father up to that tool show in Chicago when I was a kid I remember one year we went in I'm back out after walking around doing stopping it was 6 inches of snow on the ground
Awesome thanks for sharing
Awesome work!
My Granddad was a Lockheed Machinist back in the '40s (when it was Bell Aircraft in Marietta). He made Instrument Panels for B-29 Bombers. As a Mechanical Engineer (now retired) I appreciate manual machining AND the new stuff! I've made a several hundred pounds of chips in my working career!
Good job 😊
Amazing CNC machine
I like the new logo. Looks great!
A really great looking piece. Your new logo works very well. Your old logo is still a fan favorite, but this one looks great. Now you have 2 to choose from. Your original would be very small on something like this or full size, just to big. This is perfect for this piece and where you have it. Nice job using your CNC machines.
Like the new logo. Also might be interested in buying one if you decide to make a few more
Man, I would have liked to see more of the setup of the tools (offsets) and the programming!
ADAM YOU HAVE COME A LONG, I AM PROUD OF YOU. ----THE CLOCK MAN✌✌👍👍🏁🏁
The old logo was your brand. The new logo could be everyone. Just my 2 ct. Btw. if you use the new logo, i would line it up with the lower end from the stripe, i htink thet would look better 🙂
Way cool.
YOU SIR are the ABom! (79) 😅 Totally enjoy watching every bit of your content.
Looks great bud 👍
❤ I like it.
Lovely engineering Adam, well done.
I run a older flatbed router for a sign company, and when we do that type of Machining it is always very satisfied.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Super clean R I seen sitting there. I'm a tri z kinda guy but I can always appreciate a honda lol. Excellent work sir
Now it would be cool if you used the old logo on a touchmark to mark all the manual parts and CNC engrave all the new logos on cnc stuff!
Logo is fine for NASCAR bumper stickers but the micrometer one is much bett r visually.
Nice and clean simple logo.
I'd buy one of those. Cool to figure out a way to anodize the flag red, white, and blue.
Youre not the only one. Sweet looking Adam!!!
OH nice work man!
Adam, did you do the programming on this? Seems above “apprentice cnc operator” level.
Flag looks awesome
new logo looks bad
Nice work you are getting much better at programning, congrats. Your videos have always been execptional. I would for vain reasons even though costly have the extra flag for my office spot anodized in correct colors and white ceramic coating creating a flag in color. Ray
I’m an old millwright, so I’m assuming that heating them up with a rosebud and cooling it down with a 5gal cylinder of Freon is over? lol
I'd go for that - It would look pretty nice on my toolbox
Great job.....
So this would be a job for Flex Machine Tools. Customers design, customers program and customers materials, so no criticism should be aimed at you for following their instructions. Not sure I should even have an opinion on the design but I think its lazy. Wrong aspect ratio as has already been mentioned and choosing to place a logo on the "flag" , hmm....
I guess the old logo doesn't lend itself to machining, hence the traditional stamp in the past. Still prefer it for manual work, but thats just me. To at least end on a positive note-- Excellent work documenting this project, as usual. I enjoyed seeing the process, and I always enjoy your presentations whatever they feature.🇺🇸👍
Very nice
Lap the flag face to a mirror and send it out for color anodizing! Love the new logo too.
uhhhh sir, i love the machining videos, but i would love to see more on that badass 250R!
That so sick i want one
Looks great. Maybe you might think about filling in the recess with red paint and blue paint around the stars?
Absolutely LOVE the new logo!
I would love to have a USA flag with your old logo if the price is at what I can aford
Abom, The tool changing door,, You need to put something there on the door,,a face, something scary or funny,or comments of sort. Great Vid Adam..
CNC has come a long way from the 1970's when I was in college and programing a milling machining without circular interpolation. I went on to become an Engineer instead of a machinist. I do operate a lathe and milling machine at home now.
You can now color the Flag with blue and red markers.
If you are going to the show in the murder capital be sure to wear your bulletproof vests!
I applaud you for not buying 2 Lamborghinis and retiring and instead buying this beast of a machine.
You really think he bought this.....
@@lesleyboeder1798 Well a machine like this costs more than an average house so Yes it certainly wasn’t given to him.
@@KZ-yy9pm entry level material, far from the price of a lambo, and for sure not paid for...
@@lesleyboeder1798 So you know I can see how many times you commented on this page and see examples of those comments. I’m new to this channel. I’m not sure if you are disgruntled because it seems (based on comment from other vids) the channel went in a new direction or because a new shop and new machines makes you feel salty. I get if the quality of vids have gone completely downhill but NO COMPANY is handing out free units. Maybe if you have a couple million followers you can get a bantam desktop lol. Maybe he got a good 3-5% discount? I’m very new to the channel and can admit the vids I watched weren’t exactly the best content I’ve watched but it’s pretty simple if you and others don’t like the content just stop watching, TBH I prob won’t watch much more unless I start seeing some very different content.
I wonder how the flex compares to the milltronics mill for everyday use and if having both mills is worth it?
Adam, I love that video! USA all the way! You do need to look at making some more and sell them! I bet you would sell a lot of them. What do you thing they would cost to do?
it look perfect to me
Nice work
How about an air nozzle to blow low airflow on the lens. idea for you
Are the shrink fit end mill holders designed for greater precision (compared to a set screw type holder) and using higher RPMs?
I've been out of the CNC trade for a 8 years and mostly retired. I still do manual machining in my garage. I never saw those holders before.
I want one!
Very nice. It'd be cool, since it's aluminum, if you knew someone that could anodize it into the red, white and blues of the flag. Very nice though.
Like the new modern logo too.
I think you could sell those if you would mass produced them. It’s a beautiful piece. I agree with some others and like your original logo the best.
Great video in making that piece of art....I am curious how many lines of code is needed to machine those stars....I am not a cnc machinist..... thx
8.5 x 11? isn't that the wrong ratio for a flag?
18:20 those stars look weird, and the stripes are a bit short.
