i used to do dance from 2019-early 2023, and when i first watched dance moms around july i wanted to dance again. here i am! i switched studios and genres tho, i used to do ballet jazz and tap now i do acro and lyrical

But, let's think : this was in 2008 and Dance Moms started in 2011. As we all can see in, like, Cry for example, she improved a LOT for 3 years

It's amazing how much she's grown. People keep comparing this dance to the minis now, but what they fail to realize is Maddie and the other girls have set the bar high, making everyone work harder to do more at a much younger age now

This probably sounds stupid and really pathetic but at my dance studio my teacher put me in a class with 1st and 2nd graders,(I'm 11 btw), and this is my dance level right now because she doesn't let me grow as a dancer... so this is literally my level at dancing rn, I'm 11 and Maddie is only 5 in this..... EDIT~ I mean I can do some dances that the girls my age do at the ALDC but that's only because I literally teach them to MYSELF! So basically I let myself grow as a dancer on my own, BUT at my studio I am still at a lower level and I really deserve to move up😞😞😞😞
rianna wendol I've been there before. I wasn't quite as old in comparison to my team, but I felt the same way. Leaving the studio could make things better, or worse. The good thing is, you can grow right where you are. You can grow by trying to use every muscle, and stretching every step further. By using control and emotion, this dance could easily be more advanced. It's hard, but make it your goal to make every step the very best it can be. You will be a great dancer if you can learn to make the most of any class! :)
If your skill level is commensurate with the 1st and 2nd graders, that's where you belong. Age and height don't dictate that, your abilities do. Stop blaming your teacher and work harder.
