I love how Mark always turns into Eddie Izzard when he's trying to explain a convoluted plot
Clever insults.
Waving arms.
Sassy attitude.
Crossed arms.
All in all, 8/10 a good Kermode rant.
It was worth the wait. lol
Mita Larsson. It passes the 5 laughs test
6 laughs!
0/10 no "DANNY DOIYAAAAAAAAAAH"
HONKING
Felicity Jones' character is AMAZINGLY annoying. She plays a doctor who advises Robert Langdon that he's suffering from memory loss, and yet she keeps asking "Who gave you this?", "Where did you come from?", etc...
A hero in rogue one at least
Frankly, any excuse to watch Felicity Jones is welcome
“You get the sense that the apocalypse is coming, I had the sense that the apocalypse frankly could not come soon enough.” 🤣
I love me some classic Kermode.
Love your username xD
xelena Yeah it's pretty cool. Thx ;)
I think I like the sound of this, sounds like Scooby Doo but with more art history
Is that even possible, though?
Tbh it would've been vastly improved if the movie had ended with "Let's see who's really behind this mystery!"
From about 4 minutes on is Mark doing his best Eddie Izzard impression.
Funny, I was thinking exactly the same lol. He's pretty good at it too.
" Inter-galactically stupid. Mind-pulverizingly dumb "
Hahahaha I am actually rolling on the floor laughing
Finally! The long-awaited Kermodian rant. Haven't heard one of those in a while. I knew a film adaptation of a Dan Brown novel would do the trick! :P :D
What about the rant about Gods of Egypt that he did a few months back?
London has Fallen man, London has fallen ...
This completes the Dan Brown trilogy! All fantastic! Greatest film review series of all time, 9/11.
London Has Fallen gave me one of my favorite Kermode quotes:
"It's like Team America: World Police, without the jokes, and with more wooden acting."
@@ZeppelinBigFan "people will tell you it's a chick flick. It's only a chick flick if it were to be ground up and fed to battery hens"
-Mark Kermode, Bride Wars.
I loved Inferno. It easily passed the six laugh test. There were about twenty people in the cinema and everyone was laughing throughout. It's like one of those terrible schlocky Nicholas Cage movies, but with Tom Hanks in the Nicholas Cage role.
I've been waiting for this since I first heard they were making the film.
The perfect fuel for a classic Kermode rant
"Wakes up in a hospital bed, with no idea where he his, has a bullet wound in his head, a woman dressed as a police officer tries to shoot him."
Why is Mark describing the plot of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Yay, a Kermode rant with potential to be a classic! :D
Mark's description and performance of "The Twist" is perfect. Hilarious!
NEVER CLICKED ON A KERMODE UPLOAD SO FAST
I made a poem about him in good humour, to see it, simply just type in these four words.......My ode to Kermode
Expected a Kermodian style rant: Wasn't disappointed!
The Roast of Robert Langden 😂
Fool me once (Da Vinci Code), shame on you.
Fool me twice (Angels and Demons), shame on me.
Fool me thrice (Inferno), shame on everyone.
I've been looking forward to this all week.
Watch Mark’s reviews for The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons and Inferno back-to-back. Most entertaining 30 mins of your life lol
"INTERGALACTICALLY STUPID"
I'll be using that line more often.
just saw it it really was galactically rubbish. I only stayed on because the woman was very good looking, raven hair, green eyes, and a slightly freckly nose, bloody lovely.
A strong recommendation - two tickets, please!
I prefer Sidse Babet Hudsen.
intergalactically rubbish to exact my friend.
Kermode Ranting at its best. This is class. xD
For weeks and weeks i saw the trailer on CZcams and its finally hear the moment we have all been waiting for a classic Kermodeian style rant from the Good Doctor complete with him flapping his huge hands around ! And people say old Mark was losing his touch well he proved them all wrong for good now! This has to be the best rant since Entourage! If only Guy Richie went back to sucking think what else we could have!
Best rant in a while. It's fun to listen to Dr Kermode's opinions and then watch the films again whilst referring to the "running and explaining" element or "pointing whilst explaining" factor. I'm actually looking forward to watching this post Kermode review and experiencing the his insight prior to viewing for the first time.
Mayo: 'Could you go back . . . just explain . . . the Horses of Constantinople, what've they got to do with it?'
Kermode: 'Ah! Well, you see! Because what's happened is, right, there's a guy and he's very ... uh ... rich and angry and cross ...'
... And off he goes ... Lol
"CLUES! CLUES!"... This has just made it into my top ten Kermode rants/reviews!
Put it this way, if this movie had never been made, we would never gotten this brilliant review
So you’re giving a purpose and reason to the movie
So everyone what do you think will be the next big rant? Bayformers 5 or Pirates of the Caribbean 5?
This rant was awesome.
Hilariously describes the movie. I remember watching it in cinema and thinking the clue stuff was so dumb, clues far too obvious to be clues and more akin to instructions anybody could have interpreted. Felt like the director phoned it in rather than take the script and rework to a quality standard.
I enjoyed "Angels and Demons" as a kid, best of all the three Dan Brown adaptations to me.
"CLUES! CLUES HAVE BEEN LEFT BEHIND!"
Classic xD
Not shocked Kermode did not like it. The trailer made it look like a parody of action thrillers.
But tell us how you really feel Mark
Fantastic suit and tie combo Mark!
aah, the Good Doctor at his best.
This is the most awesome review I’ve ever witnessed.
best movie review i've seen all year
I read the book of this. Bewilderingly preposterous novel that just kept piling twists on top of twists far beyond the limits of reasonable suspension of disbelief.
Ah just the way to cheer up my Friday afternoon best rant in a while! Even for Da Vinci fans this was unreadable
I've been looking forward to this.
The review, that is :)
Mark's 'angry' rants are always hilarious
turn the volume up please
So Mark liked it? XD
Jerry Incandenza Ohhhh I see what you did there! XD
I love Mark's energy here.
Brilliant review.
Was the skydiving pontiffs scene inspired by the Father Ted episode where they were on the plane?
Brilliant rant! I've missed these so much! :D
superb rant! - I read the book, and can't remember a damn things about it - clearly it was utter tosh!
I watched inferno today and I fully agree with you.
Kermode read The DaVinci Code (or part at least?) Good man, taking one for the team.
Stand clear of the platform, a twist is coming!
'And then, and then, and then...' I was expecting Along Came Jones (a prototype Woody?) at that point!
"Is that the end of it?"
"Yeah.."
This movie was tense as heck all the way from the beginning to the end
"I don't remember, I don't recall. I got no memory of anything at all..."
Thanks for the Peter Gabriel quote!
Classic Kermode. Brilliant
"intergalactically stupid!" Great rant!!! Even on a non-vulgar film! Hahaha...
9:58 The last 2 seconds summarise it well: "Is that the end of it?" "Yeah".
"Inter-Gallactically Stupid..." HAHAAA
MARK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please review the film Hope, a Korean film on Netflix. This is the best film I've ever seen and needs attention.
PLEASE WATCH THIS FILM EVERYONE. YOU WILL CRY YOUR EYES OUT
Thank you Dr K. Just what I needed. The arrival of a honking stinker.
This is going to need a lot of explaining! Here's some...
this is gold
"I like Angels & Demons!" - Mark Kermode, 2016
7:45 - Simons face XD
"I started to feel like the Apocalypse could not come soon enough"
Sounds 'bout right
Shout out to James Herbert! RIP.
I love when Kermode slates a movie
right on the money
I laughed a lot at this review :)
I turned my back to Dan Brown's books because of Kermode
From now on, all films must be judged by the number of Parachuting Pontiffs they feature.
This review passes the 6 laugh test for sure
Those movies are so bad, but these reviews are wonderful
As someone who's been to Florence and Venice numerous times I really enjoyed the movie, I was expecting really dumb and boring experience but it wasn't that bad actually, I enjoyed re-visiting all the parts of Italy that I've been to before and the story was alright, twists were alright, go see it once
Pantomime started early this year!
The mans hand hit my nice face.
Sorry but I love these movies. I'm going to see Inferno with my friend and we'll enjoy it I bet! 😛😂👍
I'm with you girl. They're are exactly what they are made out to be - fun, popcorn action movies with a few clever yet contrived bits. I love them.
The novel was the best of the four.
As someone who read and enjoyed the book i really don't think this film does it any justice whatsoever. But i have to say that what annoyed me most was that the changed the ending from something that i thought made the book an extremely interesting and thought provoking read to an incredibly generic Hollywood blockbuster.
Ha ha, love you, Mark.
Italy probably.
Hahaha! That line is better than anything in the film.
" i like angels and demons"
Any luck Howard won't adapt the Brown book Origin with Langdon
Why has there been such a gap between this third film and the second? Was it due to Hanks and Howard having scheduling conflicts, or is it another example of belated 'Let's dip into the pre-established audience again' that's plaguing movies?
Tom Hanks is usually worth the price of admission, but the only way I'd ever watch a Robert Langdon movie is if Tom Hanks brought me.
After reading Dan Brown's books and thinking that they read like film scripts, I found the movie adaptations to be quite banal. The Exposition Code is the only film that I have ever fallen asleep while watching at the cinema.
Whoever is doing the thumbnails for this channel needs to stop using text overlays or take an introductory course in graphic design, because they all look bloody awful.
right on!
I don't really understand how you can compare this to Gods of Egypt
I waited 2 hours and I atleast got parachuting pontiffs 😂😂😂
Can’t they get someone else to write these Dan Brown books?
Fantastic!
Thanks for the heads up!!!
I guess the movie is nowhere near as entertaining as mark's review.
9:30 runny runny runny jumpy jumpy jumpy
Saves me a couple of hours on Netfiix I'll never see again.
I missed a good Kermode Rant.
I kinda wish Mark talked about the films he watches with another critic who watched it or get Simon to watch it as well. I don’t hate Simon but he is almost gratuitous on Mark’s reviews. Mark needs someone to interplay off of in terms of criticism, wit, and observations.
Based on his first two reviews I just came for the lolz.....
Damn... I enjoyed that book.
Here comes the twist lmao
Please someone re-edit this review to make Mark look like he's having a mental breakdown - just for fun. I would do it but I can't be bothered.
so, it isn't even a 'so bad that it's good' sort of thing? It's just bad?
