    Wayne’s the best hill climber
    Smoother throttle, lower RPM; lower speed and centre of gravity, because of his vehicle setup. Made it look a lot easier and controlled (from my lounge chair.) which is where I give most of my advice from. Ha ha
    Well done Wayne

      Thanks for the comment, yes the vehicle is feeling really good at moment, should have new suspension pretty soon which will change everything again

      @RK-gk8td Před 5 lety

      @@TheWaynedv Did you not get new suspension after the Simpson desert series? Why so soon? Not liking it? or going down a different path?

    • @lastknownlocation8760
      @lastknownlocation8760 Před 5 lety

      Wayne dV as long as it doesn’t make your centre of gravity any further I’ll approve that.
      Why the change?

    • @lastknownlocation8760
      @lastknownlocation8760 Před 5 lety +1

      Yes the vehicle might be good, but it was because of your throttle control and gear selection that you didn’t bounce up the hill and lose traction.

    None of the tracks in the Flinders are that difficult really, but it's a great place to tour because the scenery is special everywhere. The difficulty increases if there is any kind of weather and a lot of the rocks are razor sharp and will cut your tyres. Excellent well set up rigs like you guys have would have no trouble. A great video, thanks.

    Regarding the throttle bounce.. a trick we used to do to help that is to screw a rubber doorstop onto the kickpanel just below the level of the idle position.. sit the right of the foot on the doorstop and just roll the foot to increase revs..... foot won't bounce ..

    I know people look at that track and think well if those weren't cruisers they wouldn't make it or oh that track is heaps difficult well let me be the first to tell ya that in 2017or maybe 2018 the I venture club- a club that Isuzu provides to all Isuzu owners yeah those blokes went op that same track in a bunch of bone stock Isuzu MUX and DMAX with no struggle so yeah its a tough track but it ain't undoable nor is it South Australia's hardest track.... Try down south east coast for the really difficult mud and sand that's how u get bogged

    • @MrLesBerg
      @MrLesBerg Před 5 lety

      Agreed. I'm sitting here looking at that track thinking it's not so different than a lot in my area. I have a '48 Willys CJ that's been stretched to a 108" (274cm) wheelbase that I drive all over in the mountains up here in northern Idaho. Where I am, that's just another logging road.
      I get it though, that track has three hazards combined:
      1) it's crumbly and slick
      2) it's steep and narrow
      3) ugly drop off to both sides.
      Seriously, pick any two of those and it's just another track. It's when you have all three together that the sketch-factor starts hitting WTF levels.
      As the track stands, I'm pretty sure I'd run it.
      Let me say though, that if it was raining I don't think I'd do that track at all. So yeah, taking a second look at that track, I think it's just as sketchy as he says it is.

      Big deal if you mess it up in sand or mud. You just stay there. Mess up on a steep 30 degree climb, you roll to your death .

    Whats the problem? You have pretty decent rigs w oversized tires and your afraid of some sky and rocks? This kind of road (or 10x more scary) was my daily drive in an old beat out Kaiser Jeep (totally w/o all ur hanky panky gizzmos) when i worked in the Peruvian Andes. But then again, I had no icy beer, only coca leaves and lime, mmmm
