    Took mine on a 109 day / 2800 mile canoe trip down the Mississippi River. I beat this blade in the nastiest possible conditions.
    Absolutely a beast and held up perfectly. Not the greatest steel grade for rust prevention (and it was wet 98% of the time in a canoe). The sheath isn’t worth 2 bits on a good day. Absolutely trash at best. Used fishing wire to sew mine within a week.
    Would trust this blade with my life..as I did many days ago

      Waw, that trip sounds fantastic. Everything is tested on long journeys, and I'm sure you came away with great knowledge on being seasoned and what works and what doesn't. You would think ka bar would come up with a better sheath, or at least have the option of an upgrade. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the video and congratulations on completing a great long distance trip. You should make a video about it. 👍

    I'm one of the odd ones who likes the sheath and wouldn't trade it. I pull mountain bike inner tube over the handles, hell of a job, but super grip. I got a folding coldsteel finnwolf for the feather sticks etc and it fits in the front pocket with a ferro rod.

      Nice one, I tried the inner tube thing, I seen one dumped with a pile of rubbish so I took it home, cut it, cleaned it but I just couldn't get it on. Must of been a small one 🚴‍♂️👍

      @@Andy-walkaboutnutty It should be a mountain bike inner tube. It's a hell of a job but once you get it on it's like the Ka-Bar small navy knife with the rubber handle. I blew two inner tubes one after the other so I have spares. Put the knife in a vice with wooden blocks and foot powder inside the tube.

    You need to change the blade angle of the Blade when your making feather sticks..because you just Polishing the wood going back and forth....

    Two options I think, grind blade by handle flat for choking grip and fire steel, or carry leather strap in pouch to wrap blade in for choking grip

    Be good if knife videos showed what the knife was intended to do, not just feathering

      @mushroomtea01 This knife and the other knives I've reviewed are not specifically made for something. It's a survival utility knive. So it can do whatever you imagine it can do, as far as it's breaking point. The feathers can rely on the angle of the grind, that's why i pick on the feather making. I appreciate your input mushroomtea01, and thanks for watching. I hope you enjoyed.

    How this compared to the bk2?

    • @Andy-walkaboutnutty
      @Andy-walkaboutnutty  Před 2 lety +1

      I've never used the bk2, however from what I've seen it's not got a stabbing/combat capabilities as much as the #bk10 but would be better at chopping because it's a little thicker and should imagine a little heavier. To short for my liking when it comes to chopping but that's just my opinion 👍

      The 10 is a much better slicer than the 2. It's still thick enough to be plenty rugged enough, but slices much better. The BK2 is a thick slab of steel..too thick in my opinion, but to each their own. The BK2 will split wood better, and if you do a lot of prying, then the 2 is a better option, but as for regular usage, the 10 is a much better all around general use standpoint. I have both, but seldom ever carry the BK2. The BK10 however gets a lot of use for me.
