Metal stakes are strictly forbidden because the field you are camping on is a polo field and horses will get seriously injured if they run on a metal stake that someone will inevitably leave behind. So it's imperative NOT to bring metal stakes. Purchase longer plastic ones and plant them at an angle.

Thanks for the insight! We didn’t see security implement this so maybe bring both, but our plastic ones had no chance with the heavy wind on day 0

@@emilydao_ normally security is quite strict about it, so I wouldn't try it. I'd suggest instead to buy long, wide plastic stakes (9+ inches) and/or screw stakes. Remember to angle them (~45 deg) so that the end that goes in the soil will point towards the inside of the tent. Finally, don't forget to add weights if you're planning to use canopies.

I want to do car camping because of the access to go back and forth from the car to festival …. But the shower situation is where I get nervous

the showers aren't bad if you go earlier in the morning if you want to use the facilities or during off times! i will probably use it again to wash my hair next year at coachella and then we had our camp solar shower which was also nice to just freshen up :)

can you leave your tent set up when you leave to the festival, or do you need to take it down/up every night?

yes! just make sure it is secured properly in case there is any wind but most people leave it up :)

If it’s just you and one other person can you just sleep in your car if it’s big?
The tents seem like such a hassle especially since others say you can’t bring metal stakes

our neighbors had them last year but there are some durable plastic stakes out there! we just didn’t order the right ones😅
