Deepest CANYON in EUROPE | Durmitor National Park MONTENEGRO (Balkans by Motorhome)

- Our first stop in Montenegro is the Đurđevića Tara Bridge - one of the most visited and popular attractions in Montenegro. The bridge was once named among the 20 most beautiful bridges in the world and spans the canyon of the river Tara, which at 1333 meters deep, makes it the deepest in Europe. Although the roads in Montenegro can be a challenge for old motorhomes it makes for stunning scenery, and we found a great parking spot inside the Durmitor National Park adjacent to the well-known Black Lake.

Welcome to Montenego! For me the most beautiful places in Montenegro are Dolina Grebaje and Biogradska Gora, the National parks thet are not yet overcrowded. Biogradska Gora is one of the oldest forests in the Europe and second oldest National park in the world. Proclamation take a year or two after Yellowstone in USA. Have a nice trip thru our contry!

Oh my, that lake and the path around it looks so amazing. I was a tad nervous when you guys were tip-toeing through the waterfall and along the narrow path near the waters edge. But, what an experience. I couldn't believe how beautiful the scenery is, spectacular. Great tip on that yearly pass. Andre's brekkie made me hungry !

We were in Montenegro in 2004, back then the coast was a gem, and again last year. Now the whole coastline has been urbanised, only the Bay of Kotor has remained what it once was. You should visit Lake Skadar, go for a swim there, est fish and go bird watching. Cetinje is also interesting and the mausoleum at mount Lovčen is s must on a clear day, but you better leave your van in Cetinje and hitch a ride to the top to avoid overheating the brakes.
Yes wow the coast is crazy built up! We actually drove from Cetinje to Lovcen and stayed overnight in the mountain before driving down the serpentine to Kotor. 😲😎 We'll probably post that video next week.
You guys should definitely visit the Kotor Bay. From Žabljak go straight to the city of Nikšić, and from there the road takes you straight to Kotor and seaside. But yeah, Kotor city through the bay to the city of Herceg Novi. Go see the Mamula fort island that is at the entrance of the bay and the "Blue Cave". You can find boat tours and rides throughout the bay from Kotor or Herceg Novi towns. It's also bordering Croatia, so from there it's very close to the Croatian city of Dubrovnik, a thousand years old fortress city where Kings Landing from Game of thrones was filmed 😝 everything is pretty close and easy to navigate. It's a small country.

Great Video thanks. I guess you know that you have to clean the exhaust flue for that burner once a year! You need to remove the Baffle at the top and put a bottle brush up it. If you don't you will get incomplete combustion with the possibility of carbon monoxide.
Yes, we've learned that some maintenance is regularly required.

Definitely much cheaper than most of Western Europe but somewhat more expensive than the rest of the Balkans. 😊

Thanks,appreciate your comment! Yeah building an audience is a slow process. The van is a Fiat Ducato 2.8 JTD. We generally drive very slow but braking is almost always the riskiest part. Never had an issue with locking up but always concerned with overheating.
