i had a addiction for porn for almost a decade. What i found out is that it is not about the willpower. Every one of us has enough willpower to overcome it, but don't know how to use that willpower. There will be lies and justifications by shaitan, and you need to understand it and you need to understand that you will survive no matter what and that you have free will. Your priorities may need to change. When you struggle in the way of allah then you will learn more and more and will find a way. iirc i haven't watched porn for ~11 months now

I understand that my body may have desires i do no associate with, and my mind as well even though you have more controll over your mind than over your body and over your soul you have 100% control. So even when you feel like you have desires you just say this is not from me even if you feel them. When i have temptation i understand my priorities and act acording to them, because i have engrained them in my mind over and over again, because you will often forget your priorities when you have changed them newly. anxiety and depression is no problem since people are not as high as you think and allah is most important and i don't get depressed when i don't watch porn and dont watch it for cope as well, because you get savab and grow when you use the pain for good and allah rewards you if you are grateful and push through the pain so why not just accept it.

Mohammed, it would help if you related this to the idea of "Idle talk" in Islam, if one is fasting and refrains from idle actions, such as watching shows/listening to music/films/games, their dopamine systems arent surging through out the fast, and at the end of the day they will feel less of an urge to bust one.

I’ll add a very important factor that most people miss. It’s a habit and like most habits people have it occurs at a specific place, time or situation. For example alone at home, late in your bed. With every environment you have emotional connection that you instantly link with certain actions. For example if you have an home office and you purely work there, every time you enter it you’ll be able to preform undistracted. Same way if you’ve accustomed yourself to watching corn when you’re in your bed alone change up your situation, go to sleep earlier, leave your door open, whatever. You have to change the environment where your bad actions happen so you don’t subconsciously link that action with that room or situation
I think if you look very deep into it it’s the lifestyle, what you are willing to sacrifice, etc. I still have this problem but I think I get it now. You have to sacrifice. Maybe if you have a female friend, what shows and you are still allowing yourself to get entertained by shows that has the slightest amount of provocative behavior. I think tbh its 99% mental and the physical symptoms comes from your mental stress. When I had depression for 2 months I didn’t look at pornography at all or anything but when I stopped I went back to it. Changes in my mood made me avoid it. So I think changing your mood long term is the way to go about it and الله اعلم
One month clean without any type of this stuff . I’m telling I tried 5 times and i failed until I really really left it behind me fully . Please guys if you fail try again and again . I couldn't agree more with the third point. When you have this addiction you can't do anything else. And everything in life becomes torture. You can literally starve and not go to work because work becomes a truly insufferable form of torture to your addicted mind that you would rather starve Truly the worst mistake I've ever done and the only thing I regret is when I accepted a classmate's suggestion to look into porn in middle school 10 years ago
It is only with a higher love that you overcome porn. Do regular dhikr and your ruuh will get stronger, just like in Ramadan, but for the rest of the year. Soon frequency drops and stops

I stopped watching porn years ago, but i have the tab open in my laptop and other tabs are youtube videos and movies i watch, but yea porn is ruining you mentally and physically it can cause blurry vision anxiety, social anxiety, mood swings, tiredness, etc

Movies are part of the same problem. Also the Evil is great in this. It’s fake and not reality for the most part. Also acting is not allowed in Islam unless for educational purposes because one is lying. It’s also a type of possession when you act a voice or a line to mimi a actor or films. You have to understand the inspiration comes from a whisper it’s not actually YOU. Hollywood actors have multiple personas. These individuals are also great at acting because they are energized by the demonic possession which gives them a edge in acting/masquerading they will display excellent oratory skills, emotion, voices with a drop of a hat. Just like Iblis who is the no.1 actor masquerader he appeared as old man, woman, child to our Prophets and people to deceive them.

The only way to get rid of this problem is raising the consciousness. When you grow in consciousness, the compulsive nature of body and mind become less and less. Then everything that you do in your life becomes a conscious act, not a compulsive act. Then sexuality becomes a choice not a compulsion. Whatever emotions/compulsions happens within you is created by you . First you have to see , what is happening within ourselves. Everything is done by our own mind. When the perception is clear, then the compulsion goes away.

I certainly agree with him on this though I had a very bad porn addiction started watching it from a very very young age as a young child all throughout my teens I didn’t realise how bad it was until I listened to ppl with porn addictions and realised damn I’m worse then these guys quit cold turkey after many blips porn ruined my life for many years and a lot of issues stemmed from watching it within a few months of quitting was night and day difference every aspect of my life improved all I can say to those who suffer from it QUIT! One thing I've learned from nofap is that you will have to quit everything that leads you to it ( ie media and computers). Honestly the longest I went was 35 days. The reason why so many people are addicted to pornography isn’t actually to get the feeling of pleasure it provides. Instead, it’s actually to fill in an emptiness they feel inside. It’s not enough to abstain from your addiction, to be sober you need to fill that gap in your heart. And the only way to do that is by learning to truly love and worship Allah. This way you won’t feel an urge to get anything else because your heart already has what it needs and is tranquil.

I’ll add a very important factor that most people miss. It’s a habit and like most habits people have it occurs at a specific place, time or situation. For example alone at home, late in your bed.
With every environment you have emotional connection that you instantly link with certain actions. For example if you have an home office and you purely work there, every time you enter it you’ll be able to preform undistracted.
Same way if you’ve accustomed yourself to watching corn when you’re in your bed alone change up your situation, go to sleep earlier, leave your door open, whatever. You have to change the environment where your bad actions happen so you don’t subconsciously link that action with that room or situation

The problem is much deeper. Will power is only one aspect for resolution.
I think if you look very deep into it it’s the lifestyle, what you are willing to sacrifice, etc. I still have this problem but I think I get it now. You have to sacrifice. Maybe if you have a female friend, what shows and you are still allowing yourself to get entertained by shows that has the slightest amount of provocative behavior. I think tbh its 99% mental and the physical symptoms comes from your mental stress. When I had depression for 2 months I didn’t look at pornography at all or anything but when I stopped I went back to it. Changes in my mood made me avoid it. So I think changing your mood long term is the way to go about it and الله اعلم

I couldn't agree more with the third point. When you have this addiction you can't do anything else. And everything in life becomes torture. You can literally starve and not go to work because work becomes a truly insufferable form of torture to your addicted mind that you would rather starve
Truly the worst mistake I've ever done and the only thing I regret is when I accepted a classmate's suggestion to look into porn in middle school 10 years ago

I stopped watching porn years ago, but i have the tab open in my laptop and other tabs are youtube videos and movies i watch, but yea porn is ruining you mentally and physically it can cause blurry vision anxiety, social anxiety, mood swings, tiredness, etc

Also acting is not allowed in Islam unless for educational purposes because one is lying. It’s also a type of possession when you act a voice or a line to mimi a actor or films. You have to understand the inspiration comes from a whisper it’s not actually YOU.

These individuals are also great at acting because they are energized by the demonic possession which gives them a edge in acting/masquerading they will display excellent oratory skills, emotion, voices with a drop of a hat.

The only way to get rid of this problem is raising the consciousness. When you grow in consciousness, the compulsive nature of body and mind become less and less. Then everything that you do in your life becomes a conscious act, not a compulsive act. Then sexuality becomes a choice not a compulsion. Whatever emotions/compulsions happens within you is created by you . First you have to see , what is happening within ourselves. Everything is done by our own mind. When the perception is clear, then the compulsion goes away.
I've been clean of it for nearly half a year, it was tough but I think I was able to pull through

I’m not a Muslim, do I like Mohammad hijab not really. I certainly agree with him on this though I had a very bad porn addiction started watching it from a very very young age as a young child all throughout my teens I didn’t realise how bad it was until I listened to ppl with porn addictions and realised damn I’m worse then these guys quit cold turkey after many blips porn ruined my life for many years and a lot of issues stemmed from watching it within a few months of quitting was night and day difference every aspect of my life improved all I can say to those who suffer from it QUIT! Keep yourself busy you ain’t doing anything your more likely to watch it take up hobby’s etc porn sucks the life out of young ppl and adults.

One thing I've learned from nofap is that you will have to quit everything that leads you to it ( ie media and computers). Honestly the longest I went was 35 days. But I keep trying and tweaking my habbits.."Quitting porn is like quitting everything in this day and age".. even a simple youtube ad lures me into it.. If this is the case with many of you, then we are certainly doomed..
and then these brothers cry that not enough women are marriage material bc they aren't wearing hijabs or they're doing Tabarruj or entertaining multiple men in their DMs...when they are literally watching n*de women at night☠️☠️☠️Men and women are a reflection of eachother and now it makes sense that everyone is complaining about marriage...so many ppl are corrupt and indulging in sins/filth, but they all want good spouses who are pure. The reason why so many people are addicted to pornography isn’t actually to get the feeling of pleasure it provides. Instead, it’s actually to fill in an emptiness they feel inside. It’s not enough to abstain from your addiction, to be sober you need to fill that gap in your heart. And the only way to do that is by learning to truly love and worship Allah. This way you won’t feel an urge to get anything else because your heart already has what it needs and is tranquil.
