That's harsh. Tell her you love her, you want a marriage with her (not roomies), and to solidify that calling, you have to separate yourselves from the noise and just focus on the "us".
I ran from something similar. I am healthier, happier and can have a much better future. Run might not be the right word, but put your foot down with your own decision making like she has.

It sounds like his wife is in a relationship with the couple and he's oblivious to it because he's out working. He needs some counseling to discover why he tolerates this situation. They don't have any children together. It's a perfect time to make a break from her before she ends up pregnant.

I love how these guys are so good at wording the bad stuff people don't want to hear: "No, point-blank. You move out in 30 days. If she comes with you, good. If not, she CHOSE those people over you." No unnecessary emotional entanglements; just a straightforward plan and the facts that surround the decisions of the plan.

Regardless marriage is called sacred by the creator of the universe. If you believe he is the creator then this is not up for debate. He is far wiser and smarter because he literally made us. As someone who used to be agoraphobic and struggle bad with anxiety the wife needs to go out and try even if its minimum wage work part time. You can't live in fear, I did that for years just made things worse. Baby steps one foot at a time.
Same here, but maybe not to that extent. I mean I used to have panic attacks at the grocery store for no reason, but if you want to get better you find a way and have to face down those fears. Props to you for staring down yours.

Once we could afford it, I was so happy to not have roommates anymore and just live with my husband and now our child. I wouldn't want to add roommates unless we were both agreeing that we were fine with it and that the person was responsible enough to deserve a spot in our home and so it would have to benefit us financially and not effect us physically or mentally in a negative way.
My mom sometimes asks about moving in with me when we one day have a bigger place or having us move in with her if she succeeds financially and gets a bigger place and I'm like "Hahaha. No. But we can visit each other." Boundaries. Set them up from the start and stick with it.
Love is a strong force, but that is one nut buster of a hill this guy has to climb, without knowing where the cliff is. God bless.

Some people should never be married in the first place. Fortunately they don't have children so each would get a potential fresh start. It's easy to look at this from a distance and say that he needs to pull the plug. Look at what that would take though. He needs to exercise wisdom and demonstrate good decision making skills and back it up with decisive actions. Problem is that if he had those qualities he wouldn't be in this situation in the first place. He has to grow out of this and it's going to be painful.
