    The art for Thought Lash definately makes the list of "most memorable body horror cards in Magic".

      Thought lash alongside all the ‘phyrexian body modifications’ cards

      93-95 was a great era for “low key horrific” motif

      @benlittle5543 Před měsícem

      Motif. My dyslexic ass took many moments to figure out that (French?) word.
      Gotta tip the hat to some of that early MTG art.

    • @timw9745
      @timw9745 Před měsícem +1

      Yeah it’s different from all the 10 manga versions we get per card. Just one obscene art, love it.

    • @timw9745
      @timw9745 Před měsícem

      And I didn’t check if it has a different art, but when new sets come out with new cards, you click ‘show versions’, and you see like 8 printings of a new card. Like , wtf

  • @TribeWars1
    @TribeWars1 Před měsícem +9

    My favourite play pattern in this deck is scrying thoracle to the bottom with preordain and then, using thought lash, exiling the library except for the bottom card

    Fluststorm may help a deck against Consign since it is basically everywhere rn

    • @joshua_lee732
      @joshua_lee732 Před měsícem +4

      The issue there is that replicate does not increase storm count. So that'll only work if the opponent does hold up enough mana.

    • @RiKSh4w
      @RiKSh4w Před měsícem +4

      @@joshua_lee732 Well you've already cast Thoracle, then consign, so you'll have 3 flusterstorms at minimum. Could definitely make the difference.

    • @The-Nomad1
      @The-Nomad1 Před měsícem +2

      I think it's better than the tamiyos in the sideboard at least

    • @RiKSh4w
      @RiKSh4w Před měsícem

      @@Nink262 actually wait, fluster is really weird.
      Let's say you cast fluster with storm of three after they've replicated once and they have 1 mana open.
      You've got three flusters so you can double up on one consign but they'll just pay the 1 for whatever one isn't doubled up.
      So for fluster to be effective they need to be tapped out. 1 mana in reserve forces you to devote two flusters per consign.

    • @Nink262
      @Nink262 Před měsícem +1

      @@RiKSh4w Remember that opponent also had to pay for replicates and they certainly do some

    Who up lashing their thoughts

  • @Dracomandriuthus
    @Dracomandriuthus Před měsícem +2

    On the doomsday matchup.
    I think that its correct to simply pass hold up 1 mana to crack the bauble.
    If youre into a matchup where you need double force, good, youve got it.
    I think pushing hard with preordain there is unnecessary, you had alot of what you need and holding up to avoid dying to things (and cracking bauble if youre into a MU where its bad, like merfolk) might be the play with that hand.

    I looove Thought Lash! It makes my brewer's heart beat faster. :)
    I am currently on a UG build with Planar Genesis (better Impulse), Veil of Summer and Boseiju, Who Endures maindeck and it feels really smooth.
    In the current meta with only few Bowmasters floating around I think that Vendilion Clique as a 1-of is nice (tutorable with Step Through). A peek at your opponent's hand is invaluable in an all-in combo deck like this.

    Maybe brainstorm is the cut in the deck, you can’t reliably shuffle the library and don’t have lab man in for the benefit of draw to win

    • @chlorophytum5314
      @chlorophytum5314 Před měsícem

      Are the numerous cycling cards plus brainstorm just being an insanely good cantrip even without shuffling not good enough?

    I wonder if Tamiyo is good if you expect you're likely to have to win with Lab Man instead of Oracle. Pile of clues, pile of mana, you get multiple opportunities to draw in response to removal. Maybe that's too niche.

    WotC, please, just ban the Thassa's Oracle in every format. Decks that heavily relies on the Thassa's Oracle must only self-play against a wall and never against a real person.

    • @peterheinisch2294
      @peterheinisch2294 Před měsícem +3

      I genuinely think Thoracle is fine. She is one of several alt-wincons for combo, and due to the fact combo has and should continue to exist, she can continue to be part of the list. Thoracle is yes, less interactive than Lab Man, but serves such a similar function in the decks that care (Lash, Doomsday), that you rarely see her elsewhere

    • @benlittle5543
      @benlittle5543 Před měsícem +3

      I see the point that the oracle simplifies combo finishers. I do not think this is bad. If combo was an unhealthy portion of the meta game, I would entertain a ban being helpful.

      Combined, every single thassa's oracle deck in Legacy is like, under 4%? 3% of that is just Doomsday. Commander players should not push their emotional baggage onto Legacy
