- We've come to an island in the north west of Cebu called Bantayan and we're staying in a small town called Santa Fe. This area is known for absolutely beautiful beaches.
In the video we discuss if we could like the simple life on this island here in the Philippines. As we travel we try to find places around the world we could potentially live, so we're asking ourselves is this could be a place we could return to and live.
During the video we walk around, visiting the beach, as well as the main streets in the town. We also stop to get a Filipino dessert called Halo-Halo.

The beauty about Bantayan Island is that, unlike Boracay and El Nido, it is not overly commercialized, which adds to the allure of the place, especially for locals who relish the fact that it is more private and rustic an environment. Thank you for sharing! Blessings!

hello, Im from Bantayan Island and I met you at the café at santa fe. thank you for visiting our island I just also want to add additional information hehe, Bantayan Island is composed of 3 different municipalities Bantayan Proper, Madridejos and Santa Fe (which you are staying). It’s so sad you were not able to visit the 2 other municipalities in the island we have here the 2nd oldest church in the philippines and also the fort (look out) when the spaniards came. and alsoo we don’t speak tagalog here, most people can understand tagalog but we have different dialect which is “Bisaya” hehe. I hope you can visit again soon to show you how beautiful and historic our Island and the different municipalities is. ❤

Bantayan is made out of 3 municipalities as someone said,Bantayan Proper is the biggest municipality while Santa Fe is the smallest.I reccomend trying diff restaurants when you explore more! I recommend you guys try Kermit's!(If you havent) its the most popular restaurant,My favourite food/Dish is probably their baked spaghetti!Its delicious,Again Safe travels & Enjoy your stay at our ISLAND!!❤

Try and visit Siquijor island. If you want to live a simple life with laid back vibes away from a hustle and bustle of city life rgat is the island in central visayas.
Food is cheaper in Bantayan Islands compared to Cebu City. Enjoyed much of our stay there in the beaches , very clean.
Malapascua in cebu is also nice place and beaches
You should go to Malapascua. Its just nearby!

The game of basketball is very popular in the Philippines..everywhere u go in u can definitely see a basketball court!...in small island like Bantayan if u see some smoke is bec. they usually burned those leaves morning or night to gid rid of insects especially mosquitos!I missed living in an island theres no place like home👍🇵🇭🇵🇭

Bohol or Dumaguete would be a good place for you stay as a simple place..
Bantayan island is known to be cebu's egg basket or even the visayas egg basket.
Glad to see you checked out Bantayan Island. It is a beautiful place and as you said is a little quieter than most places. I forgot to mention Siquijor Island maybe you have time to check it out, was there in 2018 amazing Island. I hope the weather changes for you guys it is so much better with the nice hot sun. Bantayan island looks isolated in terms of nice beaches, but truely it is accessible when you like island hopping or wanna go to Cebu mainland or Negros island province or Panay island.
FYI bantayan is part of cebu province so its still part of cebu enjoy ur stay and have a nc day ahead :)

For $50 CAD you can hire a boat to hop to 3 different islands off Bantayan including the beautiful Virgin islands, a super white beach and a nature reserve.
If you prefer a rural life you can live but if you are used to live in urban areas and can't live with new technology it will be difficult. For vacation for a few days like maybe a week the most to explore that will be fine.

When you're in a province expect that it's not complete stuff. You can find those things in city in Metro Manila not in provinces. Always pay in cash and not in credit card. When my family had a vacation in a northern part we always pay in cash.

I like chicken adobo made from culled layer chickens they're not as tender and need to be cooked much longer but a lot tastier.

I have live in cordova Cebu for 14 years and I absolutely hate it. The driving is horrible as filipino drivers are wthe worst ever. There is trash everywhere, plastic bags , bottles and much more. Men urinate evrywhere and it stinks, only place on earht thats WORSE is INDIA.. That being said if you come to the RP for a vacation it is easy to say wow a nice place, but to live here is a different story.
Boracay would be also good!

Looking for a nice place to live? with cool weather all year round, 1 and1/2 hour to the La Union beach, 4 hours from Manila, and more quiet surrounding, the place called Baguio. There's also a lot of beaches in the north of the country.

Halo halo with corn flakes on it🤔🧐 You eat the corn flakes right away because when it get saggy your halo halo is not good anymore.👍♥️

People in Bantayan also speak another language, called Bantayanon, way different from Cebuano, a mix of Hiligaynon, Cebuano and others. I'm Cebuano myself and can't understand some words.
