The last week of elementary school was the best. We had field day where all of the school did fun outdoor activities. We also had 5th grade day for the 5th graders who were gonna be moving up to middle school.

similar thing happened to me, my classmates in 5th grade voted that i got the most ambitious award because i had good grades. i only did the classwork i had to do and various other kids were actually doing extra work to do well, so i was just being lazy in class without anybody noticing
I swear the same thing happened to me when i was younger, i was really good at maths and English and yet the girl who still didn’t know how to add, what grammar was, and failed all her tests won all the math and English awards 💀
Me and my- ex friend I felt were flip flopped. She was a phenomenal artist who could draw just about anything and I was known in my class for writing long over the top stories for our morning prompts. She got creative writing and I got art award. 😂😂

It was 6 months. 6. So yeah anyway there goes primary, no one said bye yet everyone knew where most of us went and all 😅 and it’s still going on with Omicron so :/
I didn’t get that last week of 4th grade stuff thanks to COVID. All we got was to drive past the school. In fifth grade, I got the best listener award which is weird because I zone out a lot. My friend, who was clearly the smartest in our class, got the perseverance award. The kid who got it wasn’t the smartest, he just took the longest on tests.
I remember when at the end of the year the teachers would spray shaving cream on our desks to clean them and we got to play in it. As weird is it sounds it was one of my favorite memories!
I remember in 5th grade on the last day they handed out awards and we got to vote on who won each one, but there were 2 kids in our class who were dumb, and mean, and not talented what so ever. So when we voted we didn’t know what to do. Luckily our teacher had our back and put two boxes that said “I don’t know”. Round of applause for my fifth grade teacher.

I always liked outdoor activities until 6th grade (for me that was the final year in elementary school) It was like 90°f outside and we spent the entire 8 hour day outside doing activities. You weren't allowed to sit on the side for long, you HAD to get involved. You also couldn't go inside the school to refill your water bottle or go to the bathroom because we were all sweaty and the teachers didn't want us stinking up the rooms, so I saw maybe 10-15 kids crowding around the nearest sprinkler the entire time just trying to refill their water bottles. I got sunburns on my shoulders and ankles, some classmate of mine managed to get pretty good sunburns all the way down her back, etc. Some kid also ended up peeing himself on the bus due to drinking over a full bottle of water and not being allowed to go to the bathroom. The teachers gave out snowcones to kids at a certain spot of the playground, but I think you had to have some sort of ticket in order to get one (tickets were given to students whenever a teacher noticed them being good or helpful throughout the year) My mom considered calling the school about this when I got home and told her, but since we only had one day left after this there wasn't much reason for us to fight them over it. I still think it was crazy that we were outside in that weather for 8 hours and couldn't use the bathroom or get water 😔 (Aside from this one year I usually had fun however)
I always got the, “Trying to be funny” or “Most likely to be in the shadows” Those “awards” suck. And anything negative, like those awards, shouldn’t be given out in school. MRS CARTER!

Every year at my old elementary school they would have this random event this were each class in the grade (normally there was three classes in a grade) would go against each other in different things like jump rope crap, running, that one crab board thingy, and other things. How they decided what you would do though is they in the middle of class ask you what you are best at so it’s a lot of pressure when you are crap at all of it like I was. I would say the kids took it too seriously but honestly the teachers take the cake for that award because when I was doing my bit of jump rope and I messed up and started laughing and my teacher yelled at me to keep going and told me that I needed to take the games more seriously…I was in second grade. Please this is so nostalgic- On the last day of elementary the kids who took the bus got to look out the window as the buses left the parking lot, and all the teachers (and staff I think) would be standing outside, waving. And the kids would be crying and waving back. My elementary only went up to 4th grade and I remember that they were like "You guys shouldn't even be crying, it's *OUR* last year here! You'll see them next year!" (I might've been in the 4th grade at that time, but was just s a d)

I would say the kids took it too seriously but honestly the teachers take the cake for that award because when I was doing my bit of jump rope and I messed up and started laughing and my teacher yelled at me to keep going and told me that I needed to take the games more seriously…I was in second grade. I dreaded the last day of school..
I remember cleaning out our lockers and desks. I also remember in 2nd grade, we cleaned the tops of our desks with shaving cream. Fun times.

On the last day of elementary the kids who took the bus got to look out the window as the buses left the parking lot, and all the teachers (and staff I think) would be standing outside, waving. And the kids would be crying and waving back. My elementary only went up to 4th grade and I remember that they were like "You guys shouldn't even be crying, it's *OUR* last year here! You'll see them next year!" (I might've been in the 4th grade at that time, but was just s a d)
Aww my last day of elementary school was online so we didn’t do any fun activities or anything like that. And I know it sounds weird but I kinda miss cleaning out our desks because they go from just being a mess with random stuff everywhere to being so neat and tidy which is kinda satisfying
I just watched that video of only jayus giving herself papercuts...😶... and when she was passing out awards, I still got the shivers.

Man, it sucks knowing you can't get these memories back growing up. I remember when the topper of the grade got a certificate that was signed by the president. He was so confident and arrogant after certificates that he didn't even hear when the teachers said that it was just a copy of the president's signature. Good times.
The awards being given out reminds me from when I got those too. I got most likely to be a Broadway star. And the popsicles man. Every year we got popsicles. They cut the sides of your mouth open and you could taste the blood with your popsicle 🥲

Bro I wish the last week of school was always like this. In elementary school I legit thought that every school on the last few days would have a "water day" (basically have water slides in the recess area, and play water games).... But now I'm in highschool.
I never got an award but even if I did it wasn’t infront of a class it was infront of the ENTIRE SCHOOL even with the parents
