After being a Chief of staff for a politician. I later took a receptionist job , simple answer the phone minimum responsibilities , left immediately at 5 pm. Greatest three weeks of my professional career , and then I was promoted. Lol. Let go of the freaking titles with no voice at the table. Happier out of the toxic environments.

Please share. I'll be 62 this year. I am my husbands healthcare provider. I am thinking of early retirement because talking care of him is a full-time position.
Please do share, I am passed do for a job change. @stephanieperry in such clear language, it’s a simple decision.
I am an Engineer and left my toxic corporate tech job to take my sabbatical. Right now in the Caribbean on month #3 of fun employment and LOVING IT!
I quit my toxic job at the beginning of the pandemic. I went back to work in January of this year. My family thinks I’m crazy because I say I enjoyed this time and the isolation from everybody wanting and needing something. Those were the best two years of my life traveling and not having to worry about work.
I truly understand your reasoning. The pandemic showed me how to stop being the person everybody could depend on. Now they want to know why im not back out yet. Newsflash: i'm never going to be back out. I'm resting in peace and quiet.
I quit my job after being there for 21 years. I took 10 months off. Now I have a new job where I work from home almost everyday, they already appreciate me and I have only been working for 3 weeks. Best decision I have made in a longtime.
I put in my two weeks notice today. It was unexpected because I didn't have much of an issue. So many haters at work for no reason. I am doing my best to stay confident in my decision and to say less to coworkers and managers. Two weeks!
I am a registered nurse and I am exhausted. Trying to figure out what's next.
Hi. Also a RN. I left bedside and I do care management. It’s corporate and remote. It’s less stressful, benefits aren’t great, but I’ll do it for now. Good luck on wherever you land!
@@pyt72206I’m not in nursing but I just want to say, thank you for sharing. I notice people will say they left their stressful job for another but don’t share. How is that community? Continued blessings to you.
I've been an LPN for almost 21 years, and I've been over nursing for several years, now. I have no desire to go any further in nursing or healthcare. As soon as I can find a suitable replacement for it, I'm out.
My goodness. Hating your job really can make the other parts of your life less enjoyable too. Been there and so glad I moved on.
Absolutely! I bounced over 14 years ago. It was either that or I was going postal on their a$$ or be put in a straight jacket.
Thanks for the message. We should all keep in mind though, that an easier job doesn't necessarily mean it will pay you less money... It could pay much more 😊
I thought it was just me. So happy to be free of hostile job environments. Yes!! You are amazing and hard working . Imagine working for your self. Thank you for posting this thank you. A great quality of life purpose .
Today is my last day on the job after 30 years, I'm officially retired. I am so blessed. Job stress is finally over and looking forward to a life of ease. Thank you Lord 🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️
I need to quit my hostile job. Been looking for work but it’s tough out there.
Sorry to hear that. Are you able to take a break before looking for a new job?
@@denisenoles3159I wish I had done that. Instead I left one job and went straight to another...😢
This is exactly what I did. Took 2 years off and did nothing. I was exhausted and dealing with CPTSD thanks to yt ppl bullying culture. Will not work with them ever again if I can help it.
@@jemmac4664 positive vibes your way. It’s a whole Truman show with corporate.
I am a nurse here in Connecticut 56 years old and let me tell you it's hostile but it's not the Wyte it's our own it's our very own people that make life hell on-the-job here
@@andyrussell5177 I’m in the south and it not our own. It’s yts. They hate when we have anything and make us the scapegoat at work all while giving us all the work. Sorry for your experience, but it has not been mind. And a blk person has never mobbed me at work. This is their tactic. Work place mobbing.
I’ve quit one job because of a toxic, narcissistic supervisor. I’d do it again in a heartbeat. It’s not worth your health!!
Wow, im on leavw right now because of my toxic work environment. It was coworkers who found any reason to pick on me. I am glad I left.
I need to retire from this hostile job. I need to leave. My son is grown and successful and doing well. Take care of me now
@@Aries16603 I'm assuming she meant it's time for her to take care of herself now since he's self sufficient. But maybe she didn't, idk. 😅
@@Aries16603 SMH. 😔 Go back to school and learn how to comprehend. You need to take care of yourself. As Black women we take care everyone but us. Where your mind at. SMH.
Im a teacher and Ive quit my job. 😊
June 30th is my day!!
🎉 Thanks to Stephanie in large part, for helping me change my mindset.
I am going to take a year, or as long as I like, and do me. So excited, like a kid at Christmas.
Waiting on my passport (it's a backlog in the 🇺🇸 so be sure to give yourself extra time. Even expedited is 9-14 weeks) ready to see this world while I can get around and enjoy it.
Nursing sucks! 😂 I quit my last home health position with 60 patient case load in October 2020! I teach Tai chi, CPR and adult community health classes. I’m applying for remote positions so I can be an expat. It’s always been my dream to travel and get the hell out of the US.❤
Before I could quit working, I had to put myself in position to be able to quit working. I first had to become debt free than i had to save up enough money. Once I did that, I took lower paying but less stressful jobs and than I switch to semi retirement and now I no longer work at all. For me it was a process because I wanted to be able to quit working for good and not just take a sabbatical.
If you can't just outright quit.....work on putting yourself in position to quit. I follow the FIRE movement (Financial Independence Retire Early) . Following some of the principals of FIRE help me to not only quit work but quit work with a substantial portfolio and peace of mind. Being child free also helped a lot as well
That’s exactly how I did it. I’m now in semi-retirement phase. I am self employed part time, but I enjoy it, so I’ll probably always do that at my leisure. Kudos to you 👏🏽
@@realestatebykemi not having to work full time is an amazing feeling. I love it. I live a stress free , peaceful and content life.
i really needed to hear this. i never thought i’d hate my job but i truly do. it’s stressful, toxic, i feel like i have to be a robot to do anything right n it’s soooo much. im currently in school in hopes of pursuing if different career. bc im so burnt out in the culinary field but unfortunately my resume is strong for the field. so it’s hard for other places that aren’t culinary to consider me. ideally i’d like to work from home or anywhere around the world going graphic and product design. luckily im doing well in school n already working on my online portfolio. but with this job i just see it as a way to pay my way thru school n keep my head above water w bills. i know things will get better but it’s a steep hill.
I’m so sorry you’re going through that. Those stressful jobs can make you sick. My nerves got so bad from burn out at my last job and I started having the shakes like someone with Parkinson’s disease. Not sure if you are able to take an extended vacation at their expense to clear your head and reset your mind, spirit & body? Also a therapist and a life coach could help you come up with a plan. Keep hope for a positive, peaceful and prosperous future🙌💐💕
You got this! Be sure to give yourself grace when you need it through the phase - But the good news is you’re creating a light at the end of the tunnel for yourself so continue to focus on that bright light and you’ll get there 💡
Could you use your skills to be a personal chef for those that can afford to hire you?
Update: i quit that job about a month ago now i’m at a more peaceful one. I had to go through the worst of it to get to something much much better thank you every for the encouragement and kind words i’ll refer to this post anytime i need a reminder to move on to something better.
Yes, I’m on my way to something easier…… that’s why my channel is called after school….. for teachers who want life after school ☺️
Education should not be toxic 🤔🤨😬. Thanks for constant encouragement and perspective 🫶🏽
I quit my nursing job and working on holistic health certifications and energy healing to provide holistic services to people.
I was a lawyer for 5 yrs…left and became a real estate broker. Never looked back.
I have a friend who did the same thing, from lawyer to her own real estate brokerage. Less stress, more happiness and satisfaction.
I’ve been feeling guilty about taking a break for mental health. I don’t feel like I have a right to take a break.
Not only does everyone have the right to take care of themselves, they have an OBLIGATION to do so, IMO. Not just to themselves, but to those who need them (spouses, children). No one is going to take care of you better than YOU! Take that break, for as long as you need to and can do so without adding financial stress. It’s amazing how much more clear things become when you take time off for yourself. ♥️
Namesake, I am trying to put corporate life behind me ❤
You really SPOKE to this registered nurse!!!!!! I'm looking for an out....
I wish it was THIS easy. I have bills, and they are expensive. Although my job is stressful it pays for all of them plus some for savings and fun.
Like the other commenter suggested - try to make a plan on how to get away. But also, are all the bills necessary? Can you cut back anywhere so that maybe you could work less hours or something like that?
Easy living requires preparation. There are and will always be bills to pay. We are the architects of our lives.
Find another job! Don't be complacent! Other jobs are out there with less stress that pay just as well!
You’re my Harriet Tubman! Thank you for all of your words and videos. I left and took a 4 month sabbatical that I thoroughly enjoyed. I left with faith God would protect and heal me and He did. I realize all of my mental anguish, physical pain and unexpected health conditions were due to a toxic job and I chose me when I chose to leave. It all worked out so please prioritize you and your mental wellbeing! @StephaniePerry, I and the ancestors thank you!
I quit my job I dont care about being homeless next month i will connect with nature better
what for dear? I quit my job with 1000 and you know who came through? My mommuh !!Moved to a new city in a new apartment and manifested a work from home position

I've been laid off twice since 2021 and both jobs were toxic so I'm moving into my business more instead. I've grown from this time of and im not going to backwards.
Social workers.. I’m out✌️ 💃

For some our job is truly our calling or vocation but that doesn't mean I can't still create ease with it! I have no problem walking away from that which doesn't serve me and have done so many times in the past without an ounce of guilt.
Right on time as usual! Thank you, Stephanie!
Lol Nurse here per diem got no boss - have license will TRAVEL 😆😆 Steph, you and I are kindred souls!!! 🙌🏾
Sometimes the job is not toxic but it's just that one toxic coworker... 🙄
Hey, when you right, you right! 😊❤ I took a several month long break from being a manager. Coming home crying, stressed, tired, still having to cook and take care of my baby. I had enough and told them people nuh uh get somebody else to do it. Now, I'm looking to get back in the groove but I want PART TIME and 0 responsibilities. Let me get in and get out real quick.
Hi Stephanie, what’s your view on quiet quitting? It’s basically doing your job, but not going above and beyond… rejecting hustle culture
Yes, but have a plan in place while it's done. What is your exit strategy? Do you have something else lined up? Some people regain their energy back when they QQ.
@@videostoviews2262 im not quitting my job, im just tired of going above and beyond. It’s about just doing your job without “hustling “ or stressing yourself to the point of burnout. Setting healthy boundaries
Where and what are the less stressful jobs?
I just typed my resignation and titled it LOR September…. I’m exhausted
I make $71 an hour but I only work 24 hours a week so that's literally $600 a week. That's perfect for me right now. But I am a nurse and I I'm hating my job I hate it with all my heart and all my being. I think about leaving all the time. But I know I'd have to work a lot more and I do like working just every other weekend. So my dilemma is do I stay with the job paying $71 an hour working every other weekend bring a home six hundred bucks a week or do I go drive a school bus at least I'll be happy
@@trashtalker9753 lol. My first nurse manager got pushed out and that's exactly what she did went and drove a school bus. But we worked in Psych with children from 5 to 12 so we had a bit of experience
Find a different position using the same skills? UR nurse for an insurance company. Advise Rn at a call center or HMO working remote..go look! You don't know what's out there until you do!
Absolutely!!!!!
This just spoke to my whole soul. Thank you for the wakeup call.
I am in the process of doing this. I am planing to leave the field of being a crisis worker. Work life balance is my goal. I am claiming a stress free, drama free, toxic feee work environment.
it seem like you happy. 😁😁😁👍Could you do a packing video on how you travel ... and maybe insurance that you use if you have time thank you ...and have a wonderful day..
I’m a nurse in school to advance my degree and credentials. I want to be top in my field, I have this nagging competitive streak that I wish would dissolve.
That's necessary in a competitive world, just let the other sides of you shine too.
You are right and there’s nothing like peace of mind. It’s more valuable than a toxic environment. Thanks for encouragement!
I need more money though 😂
Thanks for the reminder ❤

Yes ma’am!!
My goodness, you are right! 😂
