About SIREN:
“Siren” takes us inside Bristol Cove-a coastal town known for its legend of once being home to mermaids. When the arrival of a mysterious girl proves this folklore all too true, the battle between man and sea takes a very vicious turn as these predatory beings return to reclaim their right to the ocean. The series stars Alex Roe (“The 5th Wave”) as Ben, a bright marine biologist who finds himself drawn to a mysterious new girl in town, Ryn, played by Eline Powell (“Game of Thrones”), who is a strange young woman with a deep dark secret. Fola Evans-Akingbola (“An American Exorcism”) stars as Maddie, also a marine biologist who works with Ben, and is highly suspicious of Ryn. Ian Verdun (“Life’s a Drag”) stars as Xander, a deep sea fisherman on a quest to uncover the truth; and Rena Owen (“Star Wars” Episodes II and III) as Helen, the town eccentric who seems to know more about the mermaids than she lets on. Based on a story by Eric Wald and Dean White who both serve as executive produces. Emily Whitesell (“Finding Carter”) is on board as Showrunner and Executive Producer. Brad Luff, Nate Hopper and RD Robb are also attached as executive producers.

the song can probably push a human to kill himself. in myths, sirens do not kill humans with their singing but they bewitch them ... which was the same in the final XD
The song seems to deteriorate the brain based off of what the doc said in this clip: causes lesions, starting in the prefrontal cortex. If left untreated it would probably kill someone slowly overtime

This is the scientific explanation of the Siren Song in greek mythology, that's why you have to put beeswax in your ears like Odysseus and his crew.
It's obvious the song No matter how pleasing it may sound and soothing the mechanism to control it renders The Listener in a state of Morelos like paralysis so the mermaid can be able to take control of them attacked them or whatever may have you in for claw the song usually made the sailors stop listen and then would be dragged down to their deaths by the beautiful mermaids because they gave up no fight they just was in a state of paralysis due to the control of the melody

Anyone else notice that even though Ben was exposed to the song longer, Maddie was affected by it more quickly and more obviously
because her feelings are genuine.
Ben's never were. He was sang to the first night he met Ryn, and gradually built an obsession.
Maddie genuinely tried to help ryn while fearing her at the same time and their bond deepened.
maddie always had love and chemistry with ryn which is why it was impossible for her to keep a secret.
ben, on the other hand, has a devoured prefrontal cortex so it was easy for him to pretend since his feelings are not genuine.

Ben was the first one to help her and keep her save the story started with Ben and Ryn his love for her is not only because of the siren song how many ways could the writers write them together for y'all to understand that?
Maddie and Ryn connection is not nearly as powerful as Ben and Ryn that's why the angle became Ben & Ryn and Maddie got with Robb.
I think it's because he has a mer ancestor so he still has some traits even if it was very faint at the time, and when he used those stem cells he woke up that part of his dna
@universeprincess universe Ben doesn't have a mer ancestors. One of his ancestors had an affair and baby with a mermaid, and that baby was Helen's ancestor.
So the siren song helped Ben have momentary foresight by reason of not saving Ian from the car that sank in the ocean. The military is trying to get their hands on the power the song holds.

I thought I was prepared to see the three getting together but it just feels corny as shit! Especially Maddie and Ben who apparently don't believe in arguing, they do nothing but kiss each other's asses along with Ryn! It doesn't feel natural but some corny fairytale relationship! Xander though was annoying earlier had a huge point, their relationship is a problem! Ryn sang to Maddie, could potentially led to her death yet their acting as if she did nothing wrong! I get it she had no control but you don't tell her she did nothing wrong!
