In every video Ryan shows us all how he's the greatest pilot vlogger on CZcams. We feel like were sitting beside him learning his craft. Phew that runway looked sketchy, wet, slippery and dangers on every side.

Got to admit, for me, that was a nerve-racking flight. Like finding the place dodging the clouds wasn't enough and knowing it had rained, the runway has slick clay, but as you were making the approach you were talking about the 1980s and "dive-bombing" then I saw very close to the plane and treetops, some big white bird flying to the right, and I was thinking, "add that one to the list, gez". Landing was fantastic, given all the standing water on at least half of the runway. And IF your legs weren't "leg-shaking," well, I can assure you mine were close to it here just watching! Ryan, your flying skills, abilities, and knowledge are nothing short of AMAZING and an inspiration!
GOD Bless, Protect, and always find you well.

@@MissionaryBushPilot -- I understand that very well, having grown up in a home of off-roading pioneers (Dad invented Sand Tires Unlimited which initially produced paddle tires for sand dune vehicles; then involved with IDRA, ADRA, SCORE, helped design and test the Las Vegas Mint 400 Race, and more). He went from street drag racing as a kid to flying, off-roading, racing, and other recreational endeavors.
It started tame, but became over time, more extreme, to where he didn't notice the scary stuff but passengers did. It is so true about it starting as "the not so normal" to it evolving, "slowly becomes the normal," due to conditioning, entrainment, and/or desensitization. Disneyland couldn't do it any better for the realism and connection.
These mission flights that you so generously take the time to bring us, virtually transport us to a world that many of us never experienced. Your including the fantastic camera views, the lovely people as your wife, Chelsea (love that she cuts hair, I've cut hair too as a former career, but now teach) , fellow pilots, mission projects, folks cheerfully working the tower like Roland and Rayden, the remote villages with the children and their incredible families who live there--- are all so amazing take in, appreciate, and be heart grateful for your providing such a experience.
I got to laugh, as I feel like I'm there riding in that plane (like so many here comment and make their observations known), almost like getting the travel vacation without all the personal hassle. Anyhow, I hope to extend my great appreciation, gratitude, and prayers to you and all who contribute to this. May the LORD continue HIS good work as HE shines through you and each one involved. ----Star

Wow!!! Another great landing you beat, “Mel Gibson, Air America’s,” landings every time! Coming in at tree top level on a soaking wet field with that much standing water with out veering off the runway is an awesome skill set as a pilot. You almost inspire me to get the, U.S. Navy Seabees to improve that runway for you. For sure the lawn trimming crew works every day. When landing in those wet conditions, it looks like you almost need water skis on you plane. Please keep up the great work and making awesome videos. I wonder how the passengers feel about the runway conditions? Aloha.đŸŒșđŸŒžđŸŒŽâ€ïžđŸ‡ș🇾

Hi Ryan, I was wondering is there a lot of commercial flights using jets? Does Air Nugini Use Fokker 100’s or any other jets out of Goroka? When I lived there in the 70’s there were only F-27 friendships and DC-3’s flown by TAA and Ansett. Then in ‘73-‘74 Air Nugini started but still using the TAA and Ansett liveries. I think the AirNugini livery started showing up in 1975.
Great videos, very professional, keep them coming. They really make my day, sitting here back in Pennsylvania, remembering PNG.

The Air Nuigini livery was definitely around by 1976 when we lived there.

They use the Fokker 70 into Goroka now. The 100 goes into Hagen

Lots of thumbs up. One thumbs down from the guy that designed the drainage!

The drainage is clearly a challenge. :)

Exciting approach and landing at the new-to-us-viewers location, nice one Ryan.
Looking forward to the Guwasa leg of this flight in your next video. Your only other video of that location on this channel was one where you were unable to land due to weather.
I was also pleased to see a photo of you at the steep Aziana airstrip on your Instagram this week and I hope you were filming that day!

yes, I shot a video into and out of Aziana that day, seeing how I only go there once or twice a year, I had to!

We call high clay ground "Baby Snot" here. I fills the tire treads and you end up with "racing slicks". Causing you end up "flying" with dodgy uneven braking all the way to a dead stop leaving ruts to deal with later.

Cool video! It’d be great if you maybe could include a few stories from your passengers, eg why they’re onboard, what they do, local life etc. Thank you though!

No “fuel cut of shut off crack door “ today. Departure felt a bit hollow
