    I am stuck at the setup stage. I have connected my 3018 to my computer, I can see what port it is and can move the axis by the controller it came with. But my Easel won't see it. I am trying to do the setup but when I click "confirm" it says "Plug in your USB cable and turn on the machine."... The only other software I have is the GRBLcontroller which is so complicated for me to use. Is there a solution?

      Hello, try to disconect the Controller. On my 3018 pro i could controll it after that with my Notebook.

      I had the same problem, Install the easel driver, then on the project window click on the blue "Carve" button at the top right to get the “Easel can’t find your machine” window, then click on the check box that says "Enter COM port manually" and enter the correct com port(you can find it in windows device manager), now you can go to the setup page again and enter the com port there as well.

      I commented and then I figured it out. On the main screen in easel it says carve in the top right hand corner. I clicked that and it led me to find my port number and type that in. After typing in the port number I started the steps over that are listed in this video.

    I got the same cnc machine same as yours on the video but the spindle is not rotating when I carve. The x,y,z axis are working as it should be but the spindle is not rotating. The spindle rotates when used manually with the console I ordered with. I don't know why. Please help me if you know the solution for this.

    if i set easel to carve a 4 mm depth, it carves less then 1 mm and i have no idea why. when i set Z axis the bit touches the material but it does not carve the 4 mm i set it up. to carve the whole 4 mm from the material i need to set a depth of 21mm in easel.

    How to pause the machine during the process?

    • @craftmagiccnc8743
      @craftmagiccnc8743  Před 3 lety +1

      While using easel you can press the pause button on the top right. However it will just pause the movement of axis but the spindle will still keep rotating. I am trying to find a solution to that. if i find one i will let you know👍👍

    I'm a bit confused. Your bit settings show that you chose a 1/32"bit but the video clearly shows (@ 15:00) you using a 3mm engraving bit. Furthermore when I first use Easel I cannot use Carve unless I sign up for Easel Pro. Did you do that or somehow bypass it?
    Thanks for the useful video

    • @craftmagiccnc8743
      @craftmagiccnc8743  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi, i think it is not compulsory to sign up for easel pro. You can use easel for free with some limitations. Regarding the bit, in easel you have to sign up for pro to use the v bit settings, however if you choose 1/32" and use a v bit, it almost works the same. Hope your query was solved. Do let me know if you have any confusion.
