This has personally been one of my favorite project ideas to work on, I'm so glad someone figured it out and got it done (so I don't need to do it), there's lots more work to be done. I believe the ferdiverse has great potential as a decentralized social media platform without algorithms. We need to make social platforms about communication and connection rather than consumption of content. I hope to collaborate with Replit someday.
All very ideal, but the semantics of building an application are unchanged, as evidenced by the screen shots at 5:26. The big difference is that you now have a co-pilot who does a lot of the design and coding. (Using AI in this way is a particular form of pair programming.) You still have to provide the high level concepts and architecture (which is not the same as the basic idea), AND you must also check the code. AI code generators tend to hallucinate and can provide incorrect syntax, non-existent function calls, and even misunderstand instructions. Non-programmers can not build these types of sophisticated solutions. Also, incorporating Google libraries into your solution is not free.
I've had an idea for an app for several years now, but don't have the attention span to learn much less code it out; maybe it can be accomplished with this. It has potential for referral clicks to earn money, but that is not my intention for it =)
There's something missing from 8:17 AkashDeep will probably use AI to generate the code, and when it doesn't work, ask for help on Stack Overflow. This neatly closes the circle: A tech bro in the Global North has an idea for the next killer app, but not the time and/or skills to program it himself. AI does most of the heavy lifting, and what it can't do ends up being done by another tech bro in the Global North. Meanwhile, the middleman in the Global South profits.
I think they went with that example precisely because of its simplicity of linking two websites that anybody anywhere knows of. If this were math then he 2+2’d us and we all knew the components in the equation & went, it’s 4. But the subtext I took away from this was, “well how about we use their product & think in algebraic. Use our own variables, go crazy & solve for your own person “X”.
take a basic python class so you understand the fundamentals. should take a week or two. Then take you great idea and ask chat GPT to break down the steps to make it. Then attempt each step and have chat GPT help you with each step and coach you through each step.

I started in Java, then moved to C# .Net, and self-trained in Python. l'm always a bit annoyed by the fact that Python is whitespace sensitive, which makes debugging quite laborious. I wonder why is Python becoming the driver behind of the Data Science and AI these days? Does anyone know? Many thanks ❤
It’s super easy to learn the basics and it’s sufficient enough for many ML tasks. ML devs are not and should not be software engineers, so why should they use Java or c#
@@CZcamsMaus_20 I liked C# MVC for data visualization. I wasn't impressed by the presentation of Python,or perhaps I wasn't searching enough. If I only need ML, I prefer R. If you know any Python SDK that has a good UI, please let me know. Many thanks. ❤
Thank you very much for leading our future. Greetings from Aria (Auckland, New Zealand). I'm very keen to explore the possibilities. What is the name of this platform and its web link? Was it built from OpenAI APIs? How reliable is it? Did anyone try? Many thanks. ❤
Anyone knowing the space knows this doesn't sound futuristic. The question I had was: How can everyone be a creative business owner if the market is a competition? Seems like eventually you'd just end up with a monopolies or there'd be endless spam. Both eventually ending up with an AI that can do everything thus everyone would becoming customers who can't replenish the money in their wallet. Fewer would get the American dream, cause the dream is built off of capitalism
I am and old man so maybe next time but anyone who could design an app that could detect deception across communication lines would be the cat's meow and some. Could anyone imagine a world without deception and treachery??? A level playing field for all, providing an indispensable solution for mankind's failure at being honest with each other not to mention the cost savings in legal issues and so many other shortcomings. Not to mention the profits, not one person would do without, instead of profiting from the despair of others, doing a lot of good for this world..
It won't happen. Evil and Good, Black and White, Ying and Yang must all exist. Without one side, you don't have the other. And this will be our end, because as tools and practises accelerate, the bad will wipe out the good before the good has a chance to innoculate. Then it will all evaporate and start over.
The last birthday month while my dad was still alive but he was seriously unwell. On another note, I'm surprised they still make Ted talks. I thought everybody knew by now that only rich people are permitted to grow and flourish, while the poor constantly screwed over, no matter how much they try and retry. Oh my bad, the token supposedly, poor third-world Indian young man who becomes soooo rich by coding....
No. Like self driving, this is such hyperbolic self-publicist drivel. Apart from the fact that AI like chatGPT is theft. And often wrong. And incomplete. And censored. Apart from coding being a skill that takes years to learn, far beyond just the syntax etc. Apart from ideas needing strong interaction between humans (not AI, and never will be). So just marketing drivel. TED, GET A GRIP!

RARELY do I get good impactful information from TED these days. This was a good one !

Seems like that's what the human assistant is doing, that is added later into the budget.
That's today, yes. But all of these LLM-based tools are in their infancy

Amazing presentation Human -> AI -> MVP. Can't wait for the AGI version!
Much needed. Thank you for yours and your teams hardwork and persistence
I didn’t understand a single thing….. SO HOW DO I CREATE AN APP IF I HAVE AN idea???? Please explain!!
which IA companion, or helper would you guys recommend?

smart guy, a visionary kid for sure
Great title but really misleading to casual CZcamsrs thinking there's some practical tips there.

There is no effort put forth for Data Types. This removes a lot of debugging.

What a boss.
Anyone else noticed the intro of TED similar to Ubisoft's...?
We don't need AGI to solve this problem

This is just investor talk for the non technical, another bubble, history repeating itself
When is Ted himself going to come to the talk.
I will not allow him to hide behind these lies any longer
Yea she was fine & natural
what’s the point if everyone can just do it. Don’t see how anyone ever builds a business again once AI scales
It's one big trap, so they can analyze the meta-code and profit from it at the nano-second level. They win. We lose. Simple.

because it's incredibly important. also because this was a TED event themed around AI, where they had a bunch of different speakers

Unfortunately as long as we humans have our ingenuity we will always find a way to lie, cheat and scam each other. It's our nature
