I am so sick of everyone joking about it because it isn't funny. WE AREN'T BEING SENSITIVE! How would you feel if you had a horrible disease that you had no control over developing and then having people constantly joke about and say it's your fault because you ate too much sugar? That's what I and every other diabetic has to live with on a daily basis. Also, the treatment for type one diabetes is very painful and I don't appreciate people joking about the pain this disease causes me and other diabetics. So, we aren't being sensitive. It makes me sick that people think it's ok to joke about diabetes, because it isn't.
