    I'm ethnically Jewish, and wasn't raised in the religion. I've been wanting to practice the culture to help feel closer to my Jewish identity, and I'm going to start with the tichel, so thank you for the video

  • @sorchamathesonniccuilinn3926

    On the last one I have the roughest time getting it to look right? How tight are you tying the knots? Mine always looks thin compared to the top of the scarf. It doesn't flow as one piece like yours does.

    • @DaniElle-py2ts
      @DaniElle-py2ts  Před 2 lety

      So the knots are pretty tight! Especially the first one that I tie, (the one under the bun) which helps it to keep from sliding off of the front of my head! Which part looks thin? The fabric covering the bun on the back?

    I am ethnically Jewish and practice reform Judaism. I love my hair and feel that it is a huge part of my identity, but I would love to try wearing a tichel. I was thinking I could wear it while praying and on the high holy days, but not regularly. Is that okay? Also, is it okay if my bangs/small pieces of air are showing? I'm really insecure about my forehead :(

    • @user-gb6bl4qh9u
      @user-gb6bl4qh9u Před rokem +1

      Traditionally it is only worn after marriage and worn all the time, however if you’re reform you can wear it how you like. Whatever makes you feel closer to hashem or closer to yourself and your identity. Wearing the tichel doesn’t have to be about modesty or being close to g-d it can also be about feeling beautiful and close to your culture.
      I hope this helps🖤

    can i still wear a tichel even though im yoing? and im black and jewish i was wondering if i could wear it with 4b hair, and for the grip head band can i use any kind of headband or it has to be a grip one

    • @julias.1137
      @julias.1137 Před 3 lety +2

      you can still wear tichel even if you’re young. i think your hair would be perfect for wearing it, too. for headbands, having it be velvet is best bc it makes the scarf still in place. if the scarf and velvet did slipping or tugging your hair, you can always get a cap, too

    maybe a weird question - can i wear these if I'm a former orthodox jew who defected years ago? I want to embrace my ethnic culture while still staying true to my secular/athiest beliefs. Would it be insensitive or contradictory to wear these styles if I'm not actively "jewish" and only "ethnically jewish"?

    I'm not orthodox at all but I really want to wear a tichel so I've brought a nice peice of fabric to wear on holy days and on sabbath, I won't wear it for modest reasons but because I want to 'feel' More Jewish, is this OK? X

    당신의 얼굴이 너무 예뻐서 어떻게 해도 다 이쁘네요~~
    난 한국 사람이에요. 난 이스라엘을 사랑하고 유대인을 나의 형제와 자매처럼 사랑합니다.
    내가 이스라엘 갔을 때 유대인 여성들이 머리에 스카프를 했었어요. 나는 그 모습이 너무 예뻐서 어떻게 머리에 두르는지 너무 궁금해서 검색해 보았어요.여러 동영상이 있는데 당신이 가르쳐 주는 게 제일 쉽고 자세하네요.. 감사합니다~
    이번 나팔절 때는 나도 이것을 해보고 우리 공동체 여성들과 기념사진을 찍을께요~
