- We take a look at an oak floor in the bed of a Chevy Truck that was redone.
The oak wood was sanded down, a dark stain was applied and top coated with 6 coats of a high gloss clear automotive clear coat.... - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Beautiful job, I love the color tone.
The shine is awesome.
Time well worth the result.
👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the video the wood looks awesome, I was also on the fence of which way to go with the stain and coating and now you led me in the right direction for the wood for my 52 Chevy Truck...
I was on the fence about using Polyurethane and thanks to your information I'm going with the automotive clear. Great job on the video sir.
That looks real good and it inspires my trucks bed restoration to be sealed in automotive clear coat and not urethane like your '67.
I love this stain. I built a set of red oak stairs last winter and stained them with Espresso. They are just awe inspiring. Looks great on the truck!
Thank you for the great video, I have my red oak bed kit all fitted yesterday. I stained it with cherry I wanted to enhance the red grain, after watcher your video I'm going to spray automotive clear.
It looks beautiful. This is the nicest floor I have seen. Gotta love oak!!
The ones I remember had the wood painted the same color as the truck.
Nice. Darker shows the grain in the wood. How’s the clear coating going to hold up on the wood
Hi I'm John Russell I m currently tossing this idea around for a IH scout pu floor I like this look however I'm thinking about using Cedar instead of oak it repels bugs and rodent's .in The camera it looks like there's alot of bubbles and the ends by the tailgate look bent but The color is great on The orange I would want opposite contrast to what ever color you paint the truck so I don't think it would go well with a dark color
That's a lot of work but it was worth it because it looks great! Gee, the whole video and you didn't say Eh :-)
Did you use any kind of a sealer before shooting with the automotive clear?
I love the color of the stain, I have tried to find it online. Is there a color name, the number 472 never comes up.
Are your coats of clear lighter than they typically would be?
