  • When you start roasting almonds at home you won't have them any other way. You'll be able to control the amount of salt added and ensure freshness and crunch.
    You will need:
1 1/2 pounds raw extra large almonds
2 tbsp salt for lightly salted almonds/ 3 tbsp salt for regular salted almonds.
    1 1/4 cups water
    Preparation:
mix 2 tbsp salt with 1 1/4 cups water slightly warm.
Add the almonds and mix thoroughly. Soak for 5 minutes, drain all the salted water. Place on a sheet pan in a single layer. Roast for 20-25 minutes at 350°F. Check on them and give them a toss every 5 minutes. Wait for them to cool completely before storing them in an air tight container.
    * 2 tbsp of salt will produce some amazing lightly salted almonds. You can increase the amount of salt to 3 tbsp if you prefer them more salty. Go ahead, experiment and bon appétit.

Table salt is sodium chloride. This form of salt dissolves just as well in water at room temperature as it does in warmer water. Otherwise, good video.
