    Horizon: Is Binge Drinking Really That Bad? (2015)
    How bad can our drinking pattern be for our health? Doctors and genetically identical twins Chris and Xand van Tulleken want to find out. The twins embark on self-experimentation to see the effects of different drinking patterns on their health. With Chris drinking 21 units spread evenly across the week and Xand having his 21 in single weekly binges, how will their bodies differ after a month?

      If you look in the description it explains that Chris drank 21 units spread evenly (3 units/day) and Xand drank 21 units per week in one single sitting. You can google "units of alcohol" to find equivalencies based on alcohol content for a specific beverage type.

    • @EonWhite
      @EonWhite Před 2 lety +3

      They drink a weekly 21 units each for 4 weeks. One binges (drinking his weekly amount in one sitting), while the other spaces them out (by drinking 3 units per day of the week, for the same total of 21 units).
      Which is worse? That was the original question the twins we’re trying to answer. One of the conclusions at the end of this video was that alcohol in that amount over those 4 consecutive weeks is always bad for you, regardless of whether you binge it or space it out. And it made the twins reach levels or certain specific compounds, which you’d normally only see in someone with liver disease. Which the twins currently didn’t have.

      @@LyleGlenn lol well done literally saying what I was saying. Yes, jumping from a cliff is enjoyable it's called base jumping and you use a parachute so you can do it again and again but you do run the risk one of those times it may not open and you'll die. Kinda like alcohol is an enjoyable experience you can do and do again but you run the risk of it killing you in the long term.
      What you're trying to say is I wouldnt kill myself having a good experience and you're right I wouldn't. If alcohol was instant death then duh no one would drink it. But driving fast, parachuting, combat sports, alcohol, drugs and so on are all experiences that risk killing you or causing long term damage but will allow you to enjoy being alive because that's how you enjoy being alive by experiencing it but by experiencing life and enjoying it you run the risk of it killing you because dun dun duuun...Life will kill you so just do whatever and enjoy it and stop worrying about how it will.

      @@LyleGlenn And you struggle to grasp basic logic. Am I bothered about dying in general or how? No.
      Does that mean I should just kill myself. No because why would it...
      Am I willing to risk death to enjoy living? Weighing up the risks and being okay with them then yes I am. Because then it makes life interesting and worth living.
      Not sure what you dont grasp there but that's about as simplified as I can make it for you. If you want to go hide in your room do nothing dangerous or detrimental to your health and live twice as long as me you do you dude. I'm enjoying mine you worry about keeping yours going each to their own.
