I was married to a Greek for 11 years but he treated me very badly. However I learned the language properly and did not find it hard .I still love the country, the culture, the food, the climate and just out about everything else. If I had been more discerning I might have found a better man and still been wth him today .

+johnjanos1 Not really. Once you get your head around the alphabet, the diphthongs and the fact the subjunctive is weird and substitutes the infinitive, it's okay.

No doubt the late Telly Savallas would have been interviewed if he were still alive. Great actor, pity he is no longer with us.
Telly was wonderful. I once had Easter dinner with he and his family and we talked golf, among other things.

Most of the interviewees know nothing about Ancient Greece. The greatest Greek filmmaker said “I say to myself that I could have made a career anywhere, but I have chosen to speak in the same words that were spoken by so many who preceded me. I don't think Greek cinema is dead (at least in the diaspora) as the two Best Picture Golden Globes were awarded to an American-Greek (Alexander Payne; The Descendants) and a French-Greek (Michel Hazanavicius). I told the Minister of Tourism/Culture, the old Athens airport should be turned into a major studio facility (plane hangers can turn into sound stages) thus creating 1000's of new jobs, new influx of capital and allow Greece to become the Hollywood of Europe (year round good weather).

Greece - thavmasia!, Poli oraio. The best place and so good looking! Pity that things are so dire there right now. I hear it's mega expensive to go on holiday there. £4 for a beer.? They also speak well too. Learn the language it's fascinating and noty that hard.
