I kinda lost him around this time and absolutely love the new stuff. He is amazing and very prolific artist I have no doubt that there is quality and reason behind everything he does but that's just me saying what I like. It may also be the way we discover music in certain periods. I was single for the first time in awhile when house of balloons was out so it might have worked different on me then.

This is by far one of my most favourite albums of Abel! The drama, the way he tells his story, symbolically and with a hidden magic, he is definitely a dark Angel! I love this, he gotta have strong scorpio and Cap in his chart! Definitely a Scorpio Mars or merc with lots of Cap thrown in... The way he says in Sidewalks lyrics, 'I feel useless when I am not making money' is so true for a Cap dominant person, and his whole style is highly scorpionic/ dark Mars vibe, a ride or die love! I'd like to point out the auto tuned voice here. I personally don't like auto tune but here I actually like it. Some artists only use auto tune so they can sound the way they are and then are meh meh at live performances. I know Abel is a amazing singer and the electronic vibe to his voice is a nice touch to the song. So don't go off hating the Weeknd for the auto tune.

MANIA has a secret meaning behind all that good music. After the end of Starboy we see that the cat that jumps into TheWeeknd's car transforms into a Panther. The Panther is a sign of success. In the beginning of MANIA that same panther is shown on an altar, while the Weeknd is saying the lyrics "The reasons I can't have you. Are so easy to fix." When the Weeknd heads for a bathroom break that jealous person (symbolizing jealousy and haters) comes up to kill TheWeeknd. Though right before he does, someone else kills him. (Kool Aid everywhere ). We find out that its the girl who ends up killing the jealous man. Though something surprising was that when she killed the him. You can hear the roar of a panther the moment she does kill the jealous man. Its pretty self explanatory from there, but if you still don't believe me there is still another point that is left to made. In "I Feel It Coming" you see the Weeknd and the woman he fell in love with on the same altar as the panther was on previously. If you connect the pieces then, TheWeeknd takes the cat(which meant bad luck from before) from inside his house in Starboy, the cat transforms into a Panther (meaning succsess). The Weeknd talks about how much he wants to achieve success. As he hits the club he notices a girl that is source of the party. She protected TheWeeknd from getting killed by the hater. In the end TheWeeknd stands on the same alter the Panther stood on. The girl the Weeknd is standing with is the Panther. The Weeknd is in love with his success (Panther/Girl) in the end. Catchy music with deep messages, one of the main reasons why I like the dude so much.
