Being a south Indian, I first heard his name when I saw the movie Pan singh tomar . After that I saw him in "Gangs of Wassypur". Such a natural actor, and fantastic director he is unnoticed by even most of the sensitive film viewers like me. Now, at least I am fortunate to see the brilliance of such artists due to internet communication revolution. Thanks for Guftagoo.

One of the brilliant film makers India has. I would like to watch his movie any day before bullshit movies like dhoom, chennai express or karan johar types bakwaas. Unfortulately ppl dont go in theaters to watch good cinema.......all d best for your upcoming movie...

On one side is Manoj Bajpai who tried thrice and did not get admitted to NSD and other side is Tigmanshu Dhulia who joined NSD seeing the liberal atmosphere and not for the craze of drama. And the latter ends up acting along with former in GoW.
Bhavadas Kaplingat yarr ye sab hauu hota hai selection ka..at the end there are normal people like us who are sitting at the interview seat..& they are not antaryami...unhe kya pta kon kya ban jayega future me...vo to bas apne restricted criteria k hisab se select krtr hnge...islie khte hai jo milna hai vo mil hi jata hai..there is no fixed path or formule

I would like to admit that Rajyasabha TV has a great knowledge of interviewing a true talents like Tigmanshu Dhulia, Nawazuddin, Anurag Kashyap, Zeishan Quadri etc.....(®)
tigmanshu dhulia is one of few directors in India whose work I like , and lookout forward to see more from him . the only concern is he should not change his track for eg.( bullet raja) and for commercial cinema
Following him since Haasil... Remarkable as actor in GoW.. can't imagine anybody else for the role

earlier I was fan of fighting n Hollywood movies, but when I have seen the Paan Singh Tomar and Gangs of wassepur, this was my turning point in choice. thereafter I am watching art movies only. Best Director, Best villan.

Overall it is a good conversation, but, I do have issues on Bhojpuri movies and multiplexes, where Tigmanshu does have agreement on them.
I love the city of Allahabad. But, why was United theaters closed? Didn't government and others had to keep it alive. The multiplexes that have been opened in Allahabad have ruined the beauty of Allahabad. In Indian theater and cinema has to grow, we need to address the type of theater and cinema we have today.
Bhojpuri movies should not be praised because they are producing too many movies, they are worse for the society, without any sense, they are a form of body shows and an insult to art. Instead, Bhikhari Thakur rangmanch should get applaud and people should be encouraged to watch it.
Anyway, thank you for the interview. Sir Irfan, this is awesome series.

Hearing and watching actors and directors in the stream that tigmanshu dhulia comes from is really interesting and mesmerising. Hasil was fantastic directorial debut by him.Good to see these artists.Hoping positive from his upcoming projects.
