I was listening to a class by House Of Wisdom. They say Laws, Statutes and Commandments aren't all the same....and that Law, for instance, is only referring to sacrifices. But that last scripture in this video (Romans 7:7) seems to be saying different. Paul is calling "thou shalt not covet" a Law.
Galatians 2:16 know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.
When it says no one will be justified by the works of the law it means just that.
Where I’m all of the law did it say “Go into all of the world and preach the gospel”? But what are the two great commandments? How can you love God or men if you don’t have His Spirit? But if a person has His Spirit and His Spirit has poured His love into their hearts what law is there for God? 1 Timothy 1:9 The law is for law breakers.
The law was given to a people with hearts of stone and not flesh but a heart of flesh is soft and sensitive to people around it and has compassion and is gentle and kind and produces the fruit of the Spirit. When Jesus Christ cursed the fig tree/Israel He didn’t curse it for not keeping the law but for not producing fruit. That’s why He said to produce fruit in season and out. His Spirit produces fruit in every season. Did you see the peace of God in the boat as His disciples were scared? Did you see His peace walking on the sea while the disciples were in the boat? Did you see His kindness and gentleness in every situation? But the men trying to keep the law were always angry and scheming.
I’m sure you know the verses. Love fulfills the law and it’s not saying to go learn all of the verses and obey them.
Where is the command in Luke 18:22 given in the law? If he had obeyed the law Jesus mentioned why did Jesus add to His commands for this man? How could he love the Lord His God and follow Him if he was holding on to his life?
Jesus fulfilled the Passover in His death and every man who is baptized becomes a living sacrifice so did the Lord not want a sacrifice or what kind did He desire? But a body you have prepared for me, the living sacrifice.
The law is low and under what God has called His family filled with His powerful Spirit to. 1 Corinthians 13. You are trying to satisfy love by doing things but God is looking at the root to see what the tree is grounded in. Love? Law?
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever would believe in him should not perish but have everlasting life. And on the cross Jesus didn’t say “GIVE ME THE LAW OF MOSES! Read the fifth of the laws! Father, slaughter them all!” He said Father, forgive them. They don’t know what they’re doing.
Where’s that in the law? Every single sin offering given under the law. Men couldn’t keep it and it wouldn’t please God anyway. He wanted friends like Moses and every John was the greatest prophet but every child in the kingdom is greater than him.
You’ll never make it keeping the law and teaching that God hates Christians.
