wasuprobleemjoh - Only 1/3 of Indycar races (6 of 17) are run on ovals, with 2/3 on road and street circuits. Ovals can be great if you give them a chance :) (Please don't judge ovals by what NASCAR does with them.) The strategies are all different, and that's where you get the really fast racing. Indycar has attracted a lot of F1 drivers, and they are all surprised at the challenge the oval track provides. Some of them are really bad at oval track racing. It's fun to watch others find their way and adapt. And you can't deny the popularity of the Indianapolis 500 (oval) among drivers around the world. Almost twice as many people attend the race (~450k) as the 24 h Le Mans (~250k), according to their respective broadcasts. Promoters always describe the Indy 500 as the most popular race in the world, though with broadcasting, I don't know if it's as popular as Le Mans worldwide. But it's huge. And the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (like Daytona) also has a road course, which the Indycar series uses just 2 weeks before the Indy 500. Helio Castroneves took a break from his IMSA sports car racing and used that race as a warm-up for the Indy 500 this year.
Shea Adam Has Such A Nice Voice, Always Pleasant Personality & Keenly Well Informed Commentary. Such A Wonderful Asset In Making IMSA Racing The Best There Is.
She seems as knowledgeable as someone like Chris Economaki, only she talks as fast as Jackie Stewart, which really helps during her pit reports with 20 or more cars at a time. (Anyone know if she's single?)
Simultaneous multi-class racing is the norm, but I've often wondered how the racing would be if they raced separately in sprint races of 30 laps or so. I've never liked that all the classes race at the same time even though I assume most love it. It might actually be more exciting--similar to motorcycle road racing.
I like RS1, I rooted for Pumpelly and Galante in ST last year but boyyyy how satisfying is it to see that instant karma with the teammate shenanigans they pulled? I'm sad we only have 1 more race left!
Why is there no coverage the battle for the lead. The 80 car went from third to First back to Second back to First and now back to second. A real race going for the lead and we're watching Cars mid PAC.. it is like this every race.
That's pretty cool to see this I work security and I was there right on one of those turns right by the track but I work there all the time at Laguna Seca pretty fun.
Yeah, just GS and TC. Too much computer control over passenger cars these days make it incredibly expensive or impossible to race-convert to a standard of the level IMSA demands. Same reason GS went to a GT4 customer racing format over shop-converted, and TCR is the same, cars you buy instead of make. It is a pity, I'll miss the wonderful variety of ST: FWD, AWD, RWD, front engine, mid engine, sedan, coupe, hatchback, convertible, all racing extremely hard and closely for hours at a time.
16:16 How did a TCR car win in the ST category last year? The #18 Cayman has a funny paint scheme. It makes it look like it has a big front grill. Haha Van Halen stopped on the track to get behind his team mate so he could block for him but didn't bother to push him home at the end.

How the hell is anyone supposed to know who they`re watching when there are no numbers ON the cars? Yeah yeah there are numbers you just can`t ever see them.. There`s ONE turn when I can make out numbers, at 56:57 I saw number 60, whoo... Hoo.. Looks like a moving rainbow in there, yeah great you look very pretty, WHO AM I WATCHING? Whatever happened to legible numbers and names on cars in races? No wonder there are no faavorites, you can`t even see who you`re watching apart from the first 3 places..
I’m sorry but this looks like a 4th of July parade. How about after qualifying, a coin is flipped to decide if standard starting order is used or a reverse starting order? Just to make it more interesting.
So the Brits like a parade that ends in a 10 lap race at the end............. Silly Brits. I guess that explains why this series does not create any iconic drivers...... Wait now, who would watch a racing series that has a whole field of nobodies?... Silly Brits.... What! Wait, there is a slower parade within the parade? It's appears the intent is to slow down the parade within the parade. Silly Brits.
Matthew Marlar F1? did I say anything about F1? Assumptions are most often made by the narrow minded. Is that why you need this Brits commentary? to help you with your attention span?
Races like these I have no favorites. I just love it as a series.
You and 73 other trolls trying to promote this garbage.
What? How is this garbage?
for an american racing series, it's one of the only series that races on REAL circuits

Is it wrong to give this a thumb up before i sit back to enjoy the show? Or is that just how AWESOME @IMSA Official is!!!
Great Race!!!! From Fairbanks, AK!!! Thank you IMSA!! You'll are the best!
The video quality is outstanding, the final laps pure twist!

Amazing race
Yeah Good Thanks IMSA !
What was the sound limit that day?? Those cars sure sound louder than 90db..
I like RS1, I rooted for Pumpelly and Galante in ST last year but boyyyy how satisfying is it to see that instant karma with the teammate shenanigans they pulled? I'm sad we only have 1 more race left!
Crazy race!

Too often actually
Maxwell is the man from 15th to 2nd was 28 sec behind. Fuck yea
Probably would have won if it wernt for that mini,
That's pretty cool to see this I work security and I was there right on one of those turns right by the track but I work there all the time at Laguna Seca pretty fun.
Please bring IMSA back to Portland International Raceway.......please
Really hate the ST class is going away. Will it just be GS and TC next year?
Cars produced today can't really be easily modified to spec, as too many systems simply stop working if you start pulling stuff out.
Julian Turberfield oh ok thanks

Nathan Barndt oh ok thanks
Congrat6s to Maxwell and the #15 Multimatic GT4 on their 2nd place finish !!

Forza Motorsport 7 😍😍😍
It sucks
Indeed had to get people interested when one cannot hear only small bit of auto sounds.
Hello I'm not in the stands. I'm at home. Car sounds!!!!
All hail IMSA...
Or you can say the mini needs to be penalized. Maxwell actually could have won the race if it wasn't for the mini. Fuck

Might as well look at that leaderboard and listen to the commentary like it was a podcast..

How much closer of a finish u want ,? Didn't even need a debris caution
If you find it boring then you just don't like this kind of racing
91niconob I quite agree, don’t like it go somewhere else. I have vivid memories of Offenhauser Midgets scraping it out. This is different.
@@erichaskell Well what would be the point of qualifing then? Also in racing the best should win and not the person with the most luck.

Go enjoy your formula 1 and all the princess drama that goes along with it instead
You know that this is an American racing series. Also it's definitly more exciting than F1.
Matthew Marlar F1? did I say anything about F1? Assumptions are most often made by the narrow minded. Is that why you need this Brits commentary? to help you with your attention span?
Mani 1610 what about it is American? is it the part that they don't actually race? Now that sounds a bit British to me.
I only suggested formula 1 as an alternative for your attention span.
