So glad I don't do time anymore, no watch...I splurged on a few knives but they basically last forever... Shoes and wool socks. Never underestimate the value of a good pair of boots.
I spent 250 on my boots 3 years later they could be replaced just because they look old but my feet stay dry and warm in cold weather good steel toe can't go wrong
I never considered it a splurge, but I had to have a G-Shock Mudmaster for my watch (solar powered is a MUST). I also notched a few 5.11 bags (Amp 72, Rush 24, & LV10), and am in the process of knife research. I like your catch-all trays and the husky box organization was on a different level! Good Stuff!!
I have only two watches, a G-Shock, and a Citizens eco-drive field watch. Both are solar, incredibly dependable, and cheap. Good options for the budget minded!

If you want to know what time it is if you look up at the sun (generally north star location)with your arm straight out from under your chin thats 6pm use the height of the sun between your fist to judge what hour it is never need a watch
It's been awhile and I'm just seeing me in you however you are younger. I splurge on good items but are on sale. My watch can go from a Timex Ironman which I have had for over 15 years (since Clinton was in office) to my G-Shock to the Citizens. So bags I have a few knives, flashlights, tools, etc. We ready! Bravo out 👊🏾
I wouldn't consider it a splurge BUT my Leatherman Supertool 300 is the most expensive EDC item I carry. My flashlight I use daily, and it's only a Olight I3T E0S
Almost started splurging on knucks until I tried my hand a making micarta and now make my own pocket trash & leave the splurging to things that I utilize day to day.
Have you ever seen the recycled firefighter stuff. Their bags, plates, organizers are built to LAST. Been carrying them for several years and they basically never breakdown.
I guess the Leatherman Rescue Shears would be considered the biggest splurge, but they were a gift. I keep a light, knife, and some work specific stuff in the backpack. That’s it. On my person, usually just a G19 and ZT. I’m no the type to walk around with pockets full of stuff and prefer a plain looking backpack. I was recently given the Spyderco Vanquest 13” but haven’t transitioned over to it yet. I’m not really a fan of off-body carry but there are situations where this will work. It’s not plain looking and probably tips people off, but the thing is so cool and extremely well made.
When I think of a splurge, I think of spending a lot of money, and I try to avoid that. There are definitely a few things where I have spent a disproportional amount of time or effort though, to get something I really like, that I can stick with. Number one for me is the flashlight. With my poopy balance, I use my EDC flashlight every day, often more than once. Over the last two years, I've considered at least a dozen, and maybe twenty different flashlights. The one I use most often is the Sofirn SC21 Pro; small, bright, good clip, and plenty of battery life even with a little 16340 for EDC tasks, The second is my belt pouch; I still think I can do better there. The one I've been using lately is leather, and looks better than some of the cheaper molle-style pouches I've used, but it's rather tight, barely fits what I want to carry, and has a number of excess jingly loops on it; I've also looked at some smaller pocket-pouches to go with it, but have not yet found one I like. The final one is a multi-tool, which I want to have the least weight and bulk that includes the tools I most often use, including knife, [decent] scissors, and a small screwdriver. The one I'm carrying now is a little Roxon, although I may reconsider the Gerber Dime. If I carry a separate knife, it is almost always an awesome Benchmade Bugout I won; much nicer than the little CRKT I used to carry.
I get not wanting a watch with a battery, but a good g-shock, 10+ year battery or tough solar are ao damn tough and acurate, the odds of it running out of battery when you need it are incredibly small. Especially solar. The oddks of them breaking are pretty much zero. Not a really satisfying option, but it is practical
If you want an excellent field watch that I don’t consider a splurge whatsoever get a Bertucci. field watches are their focus. I have a Tag Heuer, Omega, Bulova, a Mudmaster, Garmin Fenix 7, and my two Bertuccis are always right in the rotation (honestly, almost never wear my higher-end watches anymore).
I would never splurge on a watch. I usually don't even wear a watch. Maybe this is naive opinion, but if there's an EMP that wipes all of my electronics, knowing what time it is will drop a couple levels down my priority ladder.
@@MarineX I added boots and said you were spot on. Also encouraged folks to join the battalion. I know it was there because I edited it because I had wanted to add the battalion part and initially forgot.

I’m with you on the name brand vs any brand. You’re getting quality plus I like to use products in conjunction from the same make or manufacture
I concur
Quality will always beat Quantity. Buy once, cry once.

Thank you for another great video. When it comes to watches, it’s amazing how many people don’t even wear one anymore.
Thank you X!
Knife: C.U.T 4, SOCP and Tkell punch knife
I have the same Vear watch with a black background
That aura looks good
I am rough on knives because of my job so i try to buy good quality ones. I do not splurge on flashlights. I carry a NEBO Torchy.

The most used edc items for me are my journal and pen so id splurge on those before anything else.
I need to ask you the ref of the black 400$ buffalo bag?
Bro been meaning to ask you how you make your table with the whiskey bends?
I would never splurge on a hank either. I can literally get 10 microfiber cloths from Amazon for like $10! I WOULD splurge on an EDC flashlight.
IWC mate, not IWS. You can always get a Hamilton if You want mechanical, those are truly great. Nice videos mate
great video!
random question, what is that ipad stand called
Here it is amzn.to/3rW2C8C

I also don’t skimp on my go-to flashlights or my go-to knives.
