Yet another masterpiece composition from Ren! Btw, most of that reverb comes from the location. He's known for picking the location to match the audio feel that he wants. The last part of the Jenny and Screech trilogy Violet's Tale,, illustrates this really well. He tries to keep production minimal and understated, so that it's real and raw. He doesn't use autotune. That's why so many of his videos, like this one, are recorded live, in a single take, no edits. Even in most of his rap videos, the rap performance is recoreded live, single take, no edits. Though he produces the beats separately, of course. For most of his non-rap tracks, the only music is provided live, as part of the performance. Usually with Ren on acoustic or electric guitar, sometimes on piano/keyboard. He plays 7 different instruments, ridiculously well! :)

You did just watch them record this. The black thing on his collar is a mic and there's a wireless recorder plugged into the guitar. The reverb is natural, from the dark hallway.

Huge fan of Ren, but that heavy plate reverb is too much. There may be some natural reverb but the decay of plate reverb is unmistakable.
