    Wait, did you just say that it doesn't have the brand sexiness of the Japanese bikes? I have to STRONGLY disagree - the brand may be one of the MAJOR reasons behind the sexiness of the bike, because it's not the VERY COMMON Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, or Suzuki, but it is a TRIUMPH, a British made (European) brand, one that is rare and demands as much respect as Ducatis and MV Augustas.
    Bottom line, when it comes to brand sexiness, the Japanese brands are the bottom of the barrel (if you don't count the relatively unknown Chinese brands) not because they are inferior in quality, Japanese brands are great, but because they are so common that they essentially become the Toyotas and Fords of the streets. Triumphs, Ducatis, MV Augustas, Aprillias are the Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Aston Martins, Audis, Maseratis, etc. of the bike world.

    What you need is a race or test track to take the bike to its limits. Then you'll see the Japanese Supersport don't come close.

    Triumph set up a legacy with this bike.Even professionals switched from a litre class to the Daytona and loved it,it was so we'll designed and had class leading electronics and parts(like ohlins suspension,brembo brakes,carbon fiber and much more) it had the characteristics and brisk nature the world was yet to come across.You were really underwhelming about all these things

    That's a very neat and straightforward review. I understand the brand is not so preferred compared to the Japanese ones, but then it is Daytona and only aficionados get the best of this machine. I recall the close and hot-blooded fight between this and Yamaha R6 in MotoGP only to see 675r finish the line first. This fine and superlative machine brings that rider in you to the immediate fore. This is one of those rares that can give R6, cbr600rr, a run for their place.

    Good review but I disagree with what you said about city use. It is a perfect city bike. It's torque makes overtaking a synch and the narrowness lets you filter through dense traffic.

    not sure I agree with the riding posture being too aggressive or not being comfortable enough for long hauls. All the forums I've read on various motorcycle sites point to the Honda CBR600RR and the Daytona 675 as being the 2 most comfortable bikes for everday use.

    • @PeterDB90

      I own a 2015 Daytona, and I have no idea where all the people on the forums you mention get that idea from. When it comes to comfort, Gixxers typically take the trophy in the supersport world. The CBR is the lightest of the 4 Japanese brands (both 600 and liter class). Yamaha revs too high and has the highest seat (not comfortable), but it looks the best. Ninjas are solid all around (plus, their 600 is a 636cc which people seem to like).
      Here's what I'll tell you about the Daytona. The riding position is very aggressive, but that's not the issue, because if you sit properly (put your cheeks on the actual seat, a bit further back, rather than on the narrow part of the seat right behind the tank, then lay down on the tank and bend your elbows - even better if you have a tank bag to lay on) then riding is not an issue, but due to the aggressive riding position, you will hate braking on the Daytona because even letting off the throttle and engine braking slides your entire body forward, crushes your nuts on the tank, and puts lots of pressure on the palms of your hands while you push off the handlebars, trying your best not to fly over and in front of your bike. So yeah, I'd hate to get stuck in traffic on a Daytona, but if you've got an open road in front of you, and you know how to sit on it, then you can ride for a fairly long time and not complain about aches.

    • @therambil
      @therambil Před 8 lety +3

      Yupp agreed, traffic would suck on it for sure. Forum members did mention it for highway commute so I guess it would be reasonable provided there's not too much stop and go.

    Terrible review. I've had one for several years. It's fantastic around town, in the country, and on the track. The smooth power and torque makes it great for street use. Doesn't have the same brand sexiness as the Japanese bikes? What in the world is he on about? I thought he was going to claim Ducati and the like, not the Japanese bikes that are on every street corner. I can see the appeal in them for some people, but brand sexiness is not a term I'd use to describe them. You want a real review of the bike, watch the one by PowerDrift.

    You make it sound as if it's not desirable due to lack of options. I disagree, even if I had other options this bike sounds and looks fantastic. I'd buy it just for the 3 cylinder mill. Thumbs down from me (which I rarely do)!

    • @dheerajvanamala
      @dheerajvanamala Před 6 lety

      Yes what you say is correct ....all the Japanese bikes in 600cc segment are inline 4 ones and this Daytona is an inline 3 one.... Inline 4's push their limits only at higher revs but a 3 cylinder one has much more low end torque than that of a 4 cylinder one

      ***** Gixxer has the price and comfort going its way, Daytona beats it on performance all round though (lighter, stronger, electronics).

      Gixxers are known for their ergonomics, so if you want a comfortable supersport bike, then go with the Gixxer. If you want the best in performance (at the expense of comfort) then go with Daytona.
      Things I've noticed: braking on the Daytona sucks! No, I don't mean that the bike doesn't brake well, the bike stops on a dime, but what I do mean is that due to the very aggressive riding position, any braking (even engine braking) slides your body forward and breaks your nuts on the gas tank. I'd suggest investing in some tank knee pads if you go with the Daytona so you can provide more support with your knees and take the load off your arms a bit.
      That's really my major complaint. Barring the aggressive riding position, everything else on the bike is amazing. All the electronics on it will give you everything you need and even things you may never use but nice to know they are there. Comes stock with the best brakes (Brembo) and best suspension (Ohlins) of the bike world.

    add 60k more and you get the panigale 959, add 1lakh to that, you get a 10r which is a wsbk champ litre class bike.

    • @dheerajvanamala
      @dheerajvanamala Před 6 lety

      But a panigale is an exotic machine that it's very difficult to ride for daily rides and for maintainance compared to Daytona....they are completely a different story since they are litre class bikes

    • @AbhishekSubbaiah
      @AbhishekSubbaiah Před 8 lety

      +CITIZEN ONE, Author Are you implying that smooth power delivery reduces the need for traction control?

    • @allaboutkalergi5012
      @allaboutkalergi5012 Před 8 lety

      Well perhaps it would be welcome in rain, if you wanted to ride fast, otherwise over three years I haven't really had an issue. I suppose when the Street triple 800 comes out a limited traction control might be a welcome addition.

    • @AbhishekSubbaiah
      @AbhishekSubbaiah Před 8 lety +1

      CITIZEN ONE, Author Yes that's what I was trying to get at.. Traction loss could also be lateral (as opposed to vertical lift off as a result of a lot of torque).. Rain, gravel, etc., which isn't just about power delivery.
      I agree completely with you that to the seasoned rider who learnt and risked on nothing but the basics, even ABS is a plus and not a requirement, but I don't see how a good power band substitutes electronically assisted traction control. I could be wrong, no doubt.
