  • Here I go over a few vehicles that I own to help someone make the decision of which one to purchase. I do not feel as though there is one specific do all crawler they all have strong points and weak points but they are all fun and all modifiable hopefully this video will help someone select the correct one for themselves

    one of the best reviews i have seen. my only disagreement is the scx as #1 but thats because thats what i got and ive learnd to love it for what it offers and what it lacks. Im making a fun on the disagreement. Thurough and honest and entry level. well done for the hobby.

      Thanks, I appreciate your comment. I prefer my Toyota tf2 out of all of them but most prefer the axial scx series for versatility and ease of modification. Plus parts are cheaper and easily obtained. It's all subjective though. What works best for you or I someone will loathe and love something different. That's what is great about this hobby, there is something for everyone.

    Hi m8
    Thanks heaps for such a informative vid, i know very little about the crawlers, I’m in the process of finishing my son a Hsp Rgt rock crawler for his 5th birthday, I know it’s a cheapish one but it’s pretty cool for the boy, and me, I’ve actually become obsessed with it🤣I found it so enjoyable trying to do little custom things to it, through watching your vid it’s helped me look at a truck that might suit me, I have come across a hobby shop near to home and I’m thinking the scx10-2 is probably the one for me, and this is the truck the shop stocks so I’m hoping they will look after me with support ect, thanks again and wow what a bloody collection of trucks you have they all are so cool. Thanks

      Sam grant glad I could help. The scx10II is a great starter. I would suggest looking between the different versions of scx10II rigs. They vary slightly from rig to rig of course body being the most obvious. But axial has a LOT of support in oe and after market parts and options.

    I have the TRX 4 , and I love it , I have spent too much money on it , but I believe this machine is awesome . I love the locking diffs , and the 2 speed transfer case .

      sluf1963 the trx4 quickly became a favorite of mine as well. I like them all and would own 5 of each if I could.

    Great work! I agree with most if not all of your thoughts. Traxxas blew me away with the trx4 and I think it gets more negative feedback than it deserves sometimes. Remote locking differentials are about the best thing in the scale scene since two speeds! Can’t wait to see the two speed Trailfinder build you were talking about. Liked and subscribed!

      Ethan Boening I love 2 speeds and I’m digging the selectable diffs. To bad they aren’t totally independent of each other but one step at a time. I’m excited to see where the market and hobby goes in the next few years

      You have a lot of options on the diffs. I've reversed the diff-channels so I can lock the rear diff first and then both.
      I've seen some other have both diffs locked in the middle position, and lock only in front or only rear depending on how the switch is positioned. But then U can never turn it 100% off.
      U can do this with the remote menu or as I do via the Bluetooth link.

      100% agree. my axial might not be my favorite if money grew on trees, if it did maybe get a real one, then a driver. im glad it dose not for the americans that want america to be the dream it was imagined. My buddie has a 1/8 and a 1/5 of those pure crawlers you were talking about and i dont know how he does it, their niche and not very realistic and a look only a mother could love. Oh well i revel in the one out of ten climbes my scx redeems itself. take good care brother.

    My trx4s are the most capable. My tf2 marlin is my favorite. I have a gen7 that outperforms my trx4s but its modified to the hilt. It has the gen7 frame rails and lower links left on it.

      I enjoy all of my crawlers. But I have yet to own any redcat products. They haven't made anything that has caught my eye yet. Hopefully one day they will bring something to the table no one else has.

      WNCTrailRiders Yeah they're very adjustable and the price point for what you get is excellent. I picked mine up for under $200.

    Any of the trail trucks can be modified with 2 speed trans or with gearing were a 35 turn motor would give the best of both worlds this goes for the RR10 (Bomber) also. I race my Bomber in U4 solid axle 2.2 races and i have a sensored brushless set up in it and i am able to do trailing and racing with it. I also race my scx10 in the 1.9 solid axle class and it to has a sensored brushless setup. The traxxas truck is in my opinion the greatest rc truck that has ever graced this planet due to the multiple shifting options (just like the summit). The traxxas operates more like a real truck however, if you want realism and great detail you will need to look at Tamiya trucks. The Hilux and the F350 are 2 great looking and shifting trucks with a 3 speed transmission. As you had said earlier it is all about your taste and what it is that you are wanting to do with the truck you choose.

  • @LEORedSun
    @LEORedSun Před 5 lety

    The Traxxas TR-X 4 is the best overall R/C crawler.
    TRX-4 innovative designs is second to none. People need to understand the TRX-4 is a scale R/C truck so you can't compare it with a R/C crawler design for rock crawling only. Yes, this TRX-4 will tip over easily because it's a smaller scale of the real truck. I have many R/C crawler, TRX-4 is my favorite.

    The only problem with 2 speed is getting it to work all the time with lil work into figuring out end points and such. The rc4wd 2 speed in the tf2s ain’t the best at keeping its endpoints

    • @wncrcandoffroad3919
      @wncrcandoffroad3919  Před 6 lety +1

      Billy Sanchez I use the dx4 radio and setting endpoints are fairly easy. I suppose it depends on the radio is how big of a pain it is. Servo savers help too.

    Im leaning tward the TFL bronco. All alloy, very little plastic. Good weight to it. Have you ever ran one of them.

    • @wncrcandoffroad3919
      @wncrcandoffroad3919  Před 6 lety

      Keith Lea i have not. But rc everyday did a build series on the tfl bronco that i followed. They look cool but for the price there are way more capable rigs out there. Plastic doesnt bother me much as long as it's decent quality plastic. I love the tf2 hard bodies and don't care much for lexan. I believe the body of the tfl is fiberglass with the alloy cage. I love the way they look but I'm just not so sure about them and parts availability.

    I as well just ordered a Redcat Gen 7 Pro , I figure a cheaper rig to mod , and enjoy building up .

    • @wncrcandoffroad3919
      @wncrcandoffroad3919  Před 6 lety

      sluf1963 i wanted one. But have never owned any redcat products. When you get it let me know how it performs and quality i may get one to mess around with. The komodo I had was a decent rig for 370 i think it was. The redcat comes in under that Mark if i remember correctly and if the quality is there redcat may give gmade hard competition.

      kevin10870 are you talking about the axial scx10II jeep? It’s he same as the scx10II Cherokee as far as chassis goes. Good platforms to build and modify on. Have fun with it!

    • @kevin10870
      @kevin10870 Před 6 lety

      WNCTrailRiders naw, this one made by traxxas designed just for the trx.

      kevin10870 I haven’t been paying attention to the rc market since the release of the bronco. But I do believe I remember seeing something about a Jeep body for the trx4. I haven’t been making videos because I’ve been working on my other non rc projects.

      Jacobs rc adventures I wish I could've featured one of every crawler/scale/trail truck made but realistically that isnt possible for me. I haven't ever owned any redcat products so I'm unsure of the gen 7 crawler.

      twissted you so far are the only one whining. It was a video I decided to do on a whim.

    • @timothytendick1550
      @timothytendick1550 Před 6 lety +1

      I understand what twissted's point was but he falls short on tact. Slinging insults around is my number one gripe with online forums. Speaking of gripes, more appropriately called criticism, well that is to be expected and should be graciously received IF delivered as a well crafted, well intended, noninflammatory observation and well intended suggestions along with supporting rationale. That said, no single example of any particular thing will suit everyone well enough to be free of all criticism. I think when we decide to participate in sharing all the various things made possible online, the inevitable comments of ones disapproval are opportunities to demonstrate your own strength of character and dignity. Back to twissted's comment and your response. I too think the camera moved around too much but nothing like a webcam video made by kids. Nevertheless, it starts to eat away at me when I should be focused on content free of distracting annoyances. It is my position that videos made on a whim is fine. Whether a video was made with some planning and by design or on a whim, they both are susceptible to an overall decline in viewer satisfaction resulting from laziness. It is what it is (as I see it), and I am guilty of it more often than just occasionally. This video what pretty long which degrades the validity of the whim excuse. It would also appear less whimsicle being that all the vehicles featured in the video were gathered together beforehand. With that in mind, I might respond to the comment left by twissted as follows, "I couldn't agree with you more the camera should have been mounted. Thanks for watching. You suck, too."
