    These videos are terrific to fill in the gaps/misunderstanding of the features of this device! Thanks for making them!

    Hats off to you. All these vids are just so good. I’ve had the sound studio for about 6 weeks but I learn stuff from every one of your videos. Thanks

    Best videos of all tubers! You're a natural.
    I just have the dfam so far, but now I feel confident that when I do get the Mother I'll know what to do! Thank you!

    Thank you for explaining which step we're recording in relation to the blinking LED. I think I finally understand...

    Great job! Love this tutorials.
    I've just got my mother-32 and love how it sounds.
    However, I find the sequencer pretty confusing.
    Do you think it is really worth the time to learn it (I mean the sequencer) when I will use it along with Ableton?

    • @braintree56
      @braintree56  Před 16 dny

      If your used to using Ableton as a sequencer - I don't see any reason to use the mother's sequencer... The sequencer, in my opinion, isn't that great. It's fine, but DAWs are much easier to edit and save.

      @@braintree56 thanks for your response. I couldn’t agree more. I’m using my DAW. However, still experiment to learn how to overcome some limitations I came across as many features only seem to work with the internal sequencer.

    Just got my M32 and I'm grateful for the tutorial. However I'm confused as for me to initialize a sequence I need to presse RESET + PATTERN and not SHIFT. What's more, I can't seem to manage to change gate length per step and when I try I can't edit steps anymore ! And also, when I set my tempo knob like in the video, the tempo is much slower than yours, I have to turn it up quite a bit to reach the same bpm. Is there something wrong with my machine ??

    • @braintree56
      @braintree56  Před 2 měsíci +1

      No. Probably not. 1st - Reset and Pattern "Restores" to it's previously saved position. If you're working with a new pattern - it's likely doing the same thing as initializing it. That's probably all. Make sure that it also initializes the pattern if you press RESET+PATTERN+SHIFT.
      Many people have asked about the Tempo thing and it's almost always that the person is changing the Sequencer Division to a longer division and then trying to speed the tempo up. (i.e. setting the sequencer to play whole notes and then compensating by speeding up the Tempo so it feels the same as 16th notes at a slower tempo) They accidentally changing the Sequencer Division instead of Gate Length. My guess is that you tried to change the gate length while it wasn't in Edit mode.
      Just keep at it. It's confusing at first. Make sure to watch the video on Sequencer divisions and tempos. That might help clear things up. czcams.com/video/IKT2MkSBESk/video.html
      Also - I generally find "Step Mode" easier to work with if you are doing things like changing gate lengths, adding rachets, accents, etc. Ultimately it's good to be able to use both - but Keyboard mode, for me, is just good when plugging in super quick sequences.
      Hope that helps!!!

      @@braintree56 Thanks for the reply ! RESET+PATTERN+SHIFT doesn't initialize the pattern though...

      @@mrthingamabob8117 hmmm... That should do it... I do notice on mine that if I press the shift or pattern button first it won't work. Try pressing them (while holding them down) in the order "Reset"+Shift+Patern

    • @braintree56
      @braintree56  Před 2 měsíci

      @@mrthingamabob8117 I also notice that if I press Pattern, Shift, Reset in that order, the tempo is halved... So... It seems to be connected to your other issue. I'll bet is something simple like that.

    Great video!
    How can I verify what firmware version is installed on my M32?
    Thanks!

    • @braintree56
      @braintree56  Před 3 měsíci

      The last firmware update was (I believe) April of 2020. V 2.0. if you got your mother after that date, you should be good to go.
      One way to check is to enter Set-up mode. The older firmware only has three pages of settings. The newer firmware has 8. When you go to Set-Up mode, if you have 8 pages of Settings - you're all set. If you only have three - time to update! Hope that helps. :)

    Do you lose saved sequences if you unplug the mother 32? I am so I’m wondering if I’m missing a step.

    • @braintree56
      @braintree56  Před rokem

      If you save them they shouldn't be erased if you unplug.

  • @ArieOrr44
    @ArieOrr44 Před rokem +1

    very confusing, it's like reading Garcia Marquez One hundred years of solitude, you have to keep your notebook open to remember what page and what sequence to use to do what you were intended to do
    they could not do it simpler

    • @braintree56
      @braintree56  Před rokem +1

      It is pretty confusing. With that said, I think they did a good job packing features in while not including a screen... So I guess it's personal preference which is better. You can always use an external sequencer or computer (which I often do)

    • @ArieOrr44
      @ArieOrr44 Před rokem

      Im working on it
      By using CUBASE, if you give its own midi track ,and using midi cable
      at the end you need its idea to create a track
      Still ,the things you can do quite easy on the moog are kinda hard on vst , the sequence build on the sub is imposible anywere else , as the sequence that controls other sequences
